  • I'm so glad to be done with this game. This time we'll be looking at an interesting but infuriating specimen, Mega Man and Bass, originally only being a Japan exclusive game, before getting a horrible port to the US. (both versions are horrible anyway)

Dude you sound like AVGN and not in a good way.
Anwyay, seriously if you suck just say it... why on earth are you fighting Burner Man with the buster when the game literally forces you to obtain his weakness? The insta fire can catch you off guard the first time I admit, but once you know what the big Tellie's do the game gives you enough time to react to them... oh and here is a tip: you can kill them with Ice Wall before they drop the fire... you're welcome. The holes are pretty annoying I won't lie but not only can you at least discover them by pushing ice wall into them (you won't run out of it dw, the stage has multiple energy pickups), you can even jump through them by jumping on ice wall midair.
How do you run out of copy vision on Dynamo Man? The thing hits him at least 3 times before disappearing with each use, you'd have to let him heal like 4 times until you start worrying about ammo, and even without copy vision I really don't see how difficult the pattern itself is, it's just the healing that makes him last a little longer than the rest.
Tengu Man has one tight jump which the game does not telegraph very well I'll say, but you have WAY more room for making the jump itself than "perfection" as you described it. You don't have to do any leaps of faith either, just go in a straight line.
Pirate Man is short? At this point it intentionally feels like you're trying to find something wrong with each stage while omitting all the positives.
Yeah I'll say the platforms in Astro man can catch you off guard, I will agree with you on this, the game could've used better telegraphing for its obstacles overall.
The centipede does NOT have more than health Ground Man, what are you on?
Here is a tip for the (iirc they're called) Romplers... or was it soldiers? Can't remember, but how about not... jumping into them and taking them out first?
Eddie is... not the only way of healing for Megaman, the auto refill is right there.
I won't argue against King 2's length, what the hell were they thinking?
King Jet can be cheesed big time, if you don't find a platform to land on just use lightning bolt midair to float for a couple seconds, makes the boss far easier.
Anyway I agree with some of the things you said, the game certainly could've used a better learning curve to try to ease you into some obstacles, but I promise you once you get past those there is -what I think is- one of the best Megaman games ever. It may not be friendly to beginners, but that is kinda the point as mentioned in what I believe was an interview with the game's director, they wanted it to be hard as heck, and if that's not your taste it's fine, but you can't call the game bad for a direction it was purposefully aiming for, one that many people such as myself enjoy (the soulslike difficulty).
And dude, stop it with the AVGN-esque whiny voice, it's really off putting.

I'll be fair, maybe I'm exaggerating some the bad points just a tiny bit. (like showing what the soldiers in magic man's stage do, but if someone lands on them, they can be frustrating, also Pirate Man's stage has terrible enemy placement throughout i just forgot to mention it, as well as the limited enemy variety especially in the King stages which can make the combat stale.) I still don't like the game myself, and I understand where you are coming from. I suggest you to check out Nico Evaluates Mega Man and Bass videos where he critically looks at the game ( which is where I learned the miniboss in Ground Man's stage has 96 health, and keep in mind he has 30 years of experience with these games which i only have around 10 or so i still have a lot to learn) , but in those videos, that's where you can see more or less all the problems I specified and trust me you will see the problems I talked about in more analytical detail. Also, sorry that my voice sounds the way it does, but to be fair I could work on my delivery a bit. thank you for your comment, have a nice day.

@@DoktorDeth I see the confusion here, the centipede technically has more HP than Ground Man, however it takes more damage from weapons than Ground Man does, infact it dies from one remote mine if you have counter active since it takes damage like a normal enemy and does not have I-frames like that of a boss. Your voice itself is fine actually, it's when you try to insert comedic lines that it starts to give me AVGN flashbacks, so you definitely need to work on that delivery. Anyway, I appreciate taking the criticism to heart, rare trait nowadays. Have a good one.
