As much as I like Kagetora, ruler generally tends to be pretty niche... and she directly competes with Astraea, arguably one of the best 4* st arts units out there. I just can't see how Ruler Kagetora is a must summon.
I don't think anyone is a must summon.
But she solidly wins out over Astraea to the point of being worth the rarity upgrade even at NP1 (where Astraea's NP upgrade matters most) let alone at higher NP levels.
Really? A lot of rulers seem to be unstoppable in the right set ups like mothman or himiko

@@dimitris6258 Maybe overall, but not in damage. an NP2 Kenshin is about halfway between NP2 and NP3 Astraea in damage.

Honestly, with my use of global clairvoyance EX, I see Summer Castoria as more of a must summon for ST arts than this unit, although her design is *chef’s kiss*
It sounds crazy but I'm sort of concerned about how useful Ruler Kenshin really is because of the man attribute mod. It seems terrific because man attribute has pretty wide coverage but buster has natural advantage against man attribute enemies due to Koyan skill 2. Double Koyan plus Morgan already crushes man attribute enemies. Take out the man attribute mod and I'm not sure Kenshin stacks all that well against all the other ST arts servants with various mods like Summer Castoria with divine, Astraea with evil, Draco with dragon and 7 class servant mod, Summer Erice with servant/curse mod, etc. I guess we'll see how she does after people play around with her.
I agree. Astrea (at NP3 for me) hits pretty hard against evil enemies which is usually what you face in the difficult fights you need her for. Plus, I would just note that in farming content, I use double Koyan + Penthesilia (at NP4) and wow does Penthesilia hit pretty hard with Koyan support. Plus, if you face Greek heroes, Penthesilia does insane damage. Biggest knock on Penthesilia is her survival but even farming 90+ nodes her survival isn't an issue because the enemies don't have a chance to hit back. Anyway, I just can't see a big usage of Ruler Kagetora for farming versus other, better options.
Kenshin NEEDS her Super effective damage mod to be on par with Summer Castoria (No Niche) and the rest of the characters you listed. She is Midiocre in comparison.
@@ACertainMan That's kind of my impression too, she's probably in the same situation as Summer Melusine where she's a very good servant on her own but being a ruler servant vs the berserkers just make her a little worse.

So now my targets in 2 years are in january and december
i dont mean to be a a downer but we are almost never gonna use her because we have no repeatable content or farming stages that single targets can do. I think they should make some of the farming stages with higher drop rates but they are 1/1/1 nodes it would make single target units increase in value significantly because the only repeatable stage we have where she can be used is kiara and they need more repeatable stages. I think once a chapter is finished they should reopen all the boss fights on that chapter permanently because then FGO content creators or anybody then can actually use these units in some way. for the most part nobody is gonna use this unit except for a stage that comes once a month which it shouldnt be like that.
You literally described the majority of event 90++ nodes which are main stay in Jp’s meta now , she’s up there with Draco and cas berserker
@@thatoneguy978Up there? Her damage is far less. People seem to forget how broken Zerk class mod is. Kagetora doesn't have the kit to compare to Castoria Much less Draco.
This year we get Ruler Kagetora and Berserker Castoria. This is win for Arts again. Don’t need to mention the AOE units.

I don't have Nagao Kagetora so I decided to summon Uesugi Kenshin even though I don't care much about Ruler Class in general.

I spend 330 SQ to NP2 my Melu and NP5 my Barghest and now if they drop this Servant I' will force to use my fund on Ordeal Girl Servant and Olga Matie maybe a New Year Servant this is a predicament LoL
Given what this event is about i expected her to also be a Rider.
I have space istar as well as Summer melu, so idk if it would be wise to attempt to summon Kage Ruler, specially when New Years is right around the corner.

How? That year is pretty stacked with solid units. And it’s not that long after summer. I mean, maybe if you skip out on the arcade event, and the last grail, you can pull it off? But those are some solid units you are dropping.
I skip a lot, only pulling for units that are good and I like and only if I have them guaranteed (to avoid SALT). After all when you get good supports the amount of farmers and DPS you need is not that big. 2025 may be hard, but we can see in advance what units will have reruns and such, which helps deciding who to prioritize @@DragonSword35d

How does she compare with castoria berserker?
In farming (ie multicore) I would take a Castoria Berserker (unless you are against berserkers or Man attribute), no need to worry about getting hit, 1.5x damage vs everyone.
But the moment you leave farming Kagetora murders berserker Castoria. Full buff removal before damage, quite arguably the best face card np gain in the entire game, ruler defense against everyone, an evade (which stacks better than Castoria berserker's invul and special invul when considering her main support is Castoria)

Kenshin needs her SE to match Nicheless Castoria that alone shows how bad Kenshins damage is.
In CQ summer castoria has Solmn defense party wide that's insanely more value than anything in Kagetora's kit. Even the overcharge support Castoria does better. Card damage and crit damage goes to castoria due to better class and better crit skill. Castoria stomps kenshin.

"better crit skill" you mean 5 stars a turn less and less damage boost (30% crit damage 20% attack > than 50% crit. Especially when crit up is so much easier to find)
So now you just have the advantages of a berserker of 1.5x damage vs the advantages of a Ruler of half damage taken.
I would take the ruler every time in harder content where the enemy will attack back.
And Kagetora synergizes better with OG Castoria, has buff removal, and the best np generation stats in the entire game.

@@ACertainMan What extra solemn defense? You lose a stack every time Castoria NPs vs Kenshin. You can't out skill it, you have to switch up order, losing a stack, or not NP chain, losing a stack. no way around it.

More than I have used a Single Target berserker. Astraea and Ruler Vinci are both amazing in CQs from when I use them. Berserkers have to go fast or they die. Only time I ever used one was against a ruler, and even that was before I had decent neutral options to deal with said Rulers.

A simple google search on account recovery fgo jp, and you fill find your answer. Basically you'll need to fill an account recovery form request and it will be processed in a couple of days-weeks.
I think 50% battery isn't the worst powercreep in the game atm. Definitely 80%, but thats rare atm.
30% still mostly keeps up since we have mana loading as an option. Those with 30% charges can start their NP turn 1 on their own just like 50% chargers. If this is a comparison of after turn 1 I can understand your apprehension, but turn 1 has such a huge impact for the direction of the fights a lot of the time that if 30% charges can perform its job like 50% then its not so bad.
Although not directly needing Castoria's 20% charge on a Black Grail isn't bad either, I wouldn't say its so important that 30% just couldn't keep up.

Why does my poor Summer Shinmen not have a power mod? All she gets is skill lock towards sabers. I might as well use Summer Jeanne against sabers.
Also summoning for extra class arts loopers is definitely a luxury for me now, since I have an NP5 Kama, and NP2 Spishtar, and my grailed NP3 Summer Musashi. I can barely go for most buster loopers since I only have Tamamo Vitch, an 80% Kaleidoscope, and no Oberon. So that means I can only loop buster servants like Ishtar, Summer Nero, and Morgan who have 50% batteries, but I could loop with someone like Majin Okita with an Oberon and an 80% Kaleidoscope.
Next year, I can't be frugal. Otherwise no waifus.

Artoria does 50% damage than her, without any of her niches.
np1 castoria does as much damage as np1 kagetora with her man SE.
Without it kagetora needs np3 to break even with castoria ( no niche )
With any of her niches she ain't dreaming of matching her lol.
