I just picked up a Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE, I am finding all your information about rooting very helpful, and easy to understand. I plan on rooting my phone and SIM unlocking it. Considering I had no knowledge of how to do this 3 days ago, and searching A LOT of other information, with your video I can do it with my eyes closed, figuratively speaking of course. LOL.

Thanks for pointing out that you need Java to run ADB Shell. It's been quite some time since I've used it, and I couldn't understand why I couldn't get things to work! I had uninstalled Java a while ago because of security concerns, and it didn't occur to me that it would cause a problem with this.

Hi I want to be able to use my sd card as a default to download all apps in it. I have a android cool pad however, should I still download all the tools on the sdk manager how you mentioned in your video? in my folder it only saids adb, it does not say adb.exe or whatever, what can I do?
just shift + right click on the window dont click on any icon and there will be an option to open a command prompt from the window you are in. good video
i get windows powershell instead of cmd. i've even made the adjustments in the registry under Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\cmd and i still get powershell.
do i need to plug in my android device(gt p7500r in my case) for this process? do i also have to change some options in my device? such as developer's options etc? i'm trying to unlock sim-lock in my case, little help will be appreciated, thank you :)

This video was super helpful thanks buddy i'm a true believer in your skillz. Gotta ask you though when your in "cmd" under the "adb shell" how do you import the platform (ie 2.3.3) i've downloaded from "sdk" to the phone via fastboot? Also can you it be done via "sd" card?

dude so with this method cmd will recognize that i have adb if i use the command adb devices?? i dont want to format my drive again to have a clean windows, i need cmd to aknowledge that adb is instalt correct, the strangest thing is that odin recognize my phone very strange, i have the samsung s2 pls help me dude

Thank you. I have been going all over the internet trying to find the step between setting up SDK and connecting to phone!!! Everyone seems to assume using command prompt as a given or something; step-by-step thru SDK and then how to change setting on phone...but just leave it with connect to USB and type: xxxxx
The SDK Manager.exe file is included after you download the files from Google, there are only a few reasons I can think of why it isn't working. 1. The file you download is corrupted so you should try downloading it again 2. You're looking in the wrong directory or the file was extracted somewhere you're not looking 3. There's a problem with your computer hiding the exe file for some reason.
If the problem persists then try asking in the Google Android Group forum, found via a Google search.

Good video.You can type cd / instead of cd.. to navigate to C:\. Also, you can copy cmd.exe to the folder with your ADB stuff, and everything would be ran from there, so you don't have to type directory names.Just saying.
I'm not sure if you'll need the Android SDK for what you're attempting since I don't have that device, nor does my Nexus 4 have a SD card slot lol. For the missing files, either when you downloaded it from Google it got corrupted and you should start over or when I demoed downloading additional files from the Google server, something went wrong. Either way I suggest starting over and if it still doesn't work, ask in XDA Forums website, that's where the developers are. Good luck.

you can go into the platform tools and shift right click the white background and select open command window here, saves typing in all that cmd stuff to get into the folder on.

Use the search function on your computer for "AVD manager" and see what happens perhaps it's in a directory you didn't look in. If there's still an issue, try starting the process from scratch. If the problem persists then you'll have to post on "Google groups" and hopefully a developer can help you out.

That depends on the ROM. The only way to know is to ask the developer of the ROM you are trying to push. Pushing ROMs to an Android device can vary depending on the ROM and the device. Many times installing a ROM doesn't even require ADB Shell so ask the developer of the ROM for instructions. Hope that clarifies things a little, best of luck.
im in cmd but when i type in "cd android-sdk-windows" it says windows cannot find the path specified any suggestions?

I can't find the page to download this, and I often tried to get on the official website from Android developer but it always sends me back to android studio

What if my phone stuck on the android logo and I cannot use it, and It won't detect to my computer, can I can still use the command prompt? and access the superuser? pls help

check your drivers. or reinstall them. what model of phone? you're kind of not giving ANY info to go off by.

If the zip file doesn't exist but everything else shown in the video is the same then that's fine. As for incorrect syntax, you probably typed the wrong path or misspelled something. If the problem persists I suggest asking in XDA Forums. That's where Android developers and modders communicate and help newbies.
An error like that means you're not specifying a correct folder name. "Path" in cmd means the direction you're navigating in, so with the error you're getting, it means you're trying to navigate to something that doesn't exist. The most likely reason is that you're missing a folder or you're misspelling something. Hope that helps.

i was able to get adb shell running. but i dont know what to do next, i am trying to use a verizon moto e 4g on tmobile, these are the steps i found, but i am stuck in #6 as i have never used cmd before
1. Put the phone into Airplane mode (I'm not sure this is needed, but it doesn't hurt)
2. Go to Settings -> About Phone and tap on "Build Number" until it says you are in Developer Mode (~10 times)
3. Go back one menu, and right above About Phone there should now be an option for Developer Options, go into that.
4. Turn on USB Debugging
5. Connect the phone to your computer and type "adb shell" in your CMD window
6. Run the following commands in adb shell :
pm clear com.android.providers.telephony
settings put global preferred_network_mode 9
settings put global preferred_network_mode1 9
settings put global preferred_network_mode2 9
7. Turn off Airplane mode
8. Power off and Restart the phone
9. Open up the settings app, go to the mobile networks panel, select "Prefered Network Mode" and change it to "4G"
10. Input the appropriate APNs for your specific carrier

i got f*d up at my boot screen after by mistake after installing chainfire 3d on my gt i8262 galaxy core. I was able to install adb shell successfuly on my win 8.1. the shell is full of commands. i am not sure what command to be executed to delete the chainfire file from the mobile.. i tried flashing cwm using odin. but it isnt helping. i am not able to boot into cwm. im stuck at the galaxy core logo screen.. any help would be appreciated.. in one of the xda forums, i read this command " /system/lib/cf3d_uninstall.sh" to delete the chainfire file frm the mob.. but i got no idea how to push it to my mob frm the adb shell. kindly help please..
how can i do it if my phone was stuck on its logo because of that chainfire?

This was made a long time ago and I wish you would have put an extension to the link you used on both. I am not able to download the Android SDK cause I cant find it anywhere
Got it working. Just Google 'download android platform tools' and hit the first result. Download it, add to C: directory.
Quick tip: If you right-click on a path in Windows Explorer, you should see an option to "Copy address as text". You can then right-click in the cmd window and Paste that path right after "cd ".
The phone should be set to debugging mode, a simple Google search will help. Once your phone is in debugging mode and its connected to the computer and accessed ADB, there are too many different instructions involved if your flashing a ROM, rooting, install CWM, etc. Hooking up your phone to ADB is dependent on what you want to do, you'll have to ask the developer of what you wish to install/mod for help since the commands are different. Best of luck.
Download an app called "APK Manager" and install it. The apk you want to install, put it directly on your SD card, open APK Manager, find it and install it. I've been meaning to make a video on your question anyway, I'll have it done soon. Best of luck.

What? The only time I did that was when explaining to install Java (should take a minute to install), which I did before showing the Android SDK steps (which you can't do without Java). Not sure what you're writing about, but take it easy with the language I keep my channel clean.

Sorry to say but I've never pushed a ROM via ADB Shell before, I've only rooted and used it to fix app permissions. You'll have to contact the developer of the ROM in question for help or ask in XDA Forums under the HTC Sensation section. There are plenty of developers there that should be able to help you out. I simply typed "how to push rom adb" in Google and got many results with the answer you're seeking, try it. Best of luck.
