I didn't mess with the software for like 3 years. But once I did I never looked back. You don't ever really have to mess with the software when you are in controller mode it works the same. It actually allows you to mess with so many plugins from third parties. And it also performs faster . You guys don't know what you're missing

i have only one problem and it may be a user error. My controller mode acts weird from time to time and it could be a RAM issue with my computer. But it will not play notes in my pads or vice versa on my mpc key 37. I'm looking to buy a new Apple with 16 gigs of RAM and currently waiting on Akai to fulfill a ticket I submitted. Any suggestions will help and I can use STEMS fine but so far I haven't needed it because I have a nack for searching out great samples but I imagine it will come to good use eventually.
Another thing is I have a MPC one and Key 37 so I can run my STEMS into audio tracks straight from the my Monitor output.

So many people attempt to make themselves appear to do something remarkable forgetting someone made all the tools that we have. Styles make differences period. Good for you creating with your particular workflow. I could do the same if I bragged about being an actual musician of 5 actual instruments, and I don’t use samples I make my own 😂😂😂. Stay frosty, keep being creative and innovate more.

Hola, Buenos Dias. As a Standalone user, I have had a subscription to the software for like a year now, I never have actually used the AKAI DAW, I just link the two so I can move files around. BUT NOW With STEMS out I totally linked my MPC_x to the DAW software, this is officially now is my new set up!! STEMS AND ALL!! Its an easy workaround, thanks for showing everyone!!
Truly feeling blessed and overwhelmed, this is a total sound changer because I have never cared about copyright infringement, now I have the POWER of the STEMS at my finger tips.....

I've been messing with the software everysince I've been using the MPCX and worked it as if I was in standalone and never missed a beat. It's totally flawless and I'm staring at the MPC most of the time. It even makes it easier to edit on screen and so much more. Oh yeah, you can access your drives on the conputer, as well as your drives within your MPC all at once. This totally works for me. I've loved controller mode day one.

I picked up Stems and I used it on a beat my nephew gave me to cook up. For now I know I'll start using the MPC software at least to utilize MPC Stems more. I'm more comfortable with stand-a-lone though. Thanks again for the video.

I GET IT! Dawless this, dawless that; this is why we all gravitated to the MPC in the first place. BUT not hooking up your mpc (new ones) to your computer is a DISSERVICE! Like another commenter stated, you dont HAVE to interact with the pc but the benefits outweigh everything but portability! It legit just makes your mpc an MPC XXL: all your samples from pc, all your plugins, somethings are better with the mouse, having keyboard to type in sample names and the like is great too! I used to be standalone only now it's really just controller mode
I enjoy the hands on experience of making a beat, but I've realized that software enhances the music big time. Appreciate you sharing that, and thanks for watching!🙏🏾✊🏾💚

I don’t knock anybody’s work flow but I bought the MPC X because I was a Maschine user and was tired of the hybrid style. I can just use the MPC and that’s it. But it’s good to know that if I did want to use the software I have the ability.

I will say this. The best part of using a controller mode is the fact that you have access to your hard drive and if you're used to stand alone mode, you can continue to use the buttons on the MPC instead of a mouse to click through. The funny thing is I started on the software version and thought it was just stupid. The software version still is in my opinion dumb looking. However, My opinion on using the software is simply skip it, learn to use standalone version and all your shortcut keys then come back to the software as it will make more sense and is much more easier to navigate using the hardware. Hopefully that makes sense to new users. Lastly, I'm also mad at the software version because I spent all this money on my MPC and now i need to upgrade my computer. My most powerful device right now is a iPad pro and making music on that is a beast. It's time all these music people switched to iPad and tablets. That's the future. Not a computer that's going backwards. They need to update their iPad app to the real MPC app and not the garbage they have in the app store. The iPad is the future. Mark my words.

The software is cool to use there a whole lot more advantages to the software than standalone it’s a good thing to learn but everyone has there preferences with the key 37 I use the software and hardware together

I just played around with the stems the other night, once i figured it out it was pretty decent! But im unable to samplw directly into the mpc when im in controller mode. What am i doing wrong?
Wassup my sister!! I had that issue the first time I tried to sample.. go to Settings, and check the Preferences, and make sure the Input on your computer is set to your MPC. I didn't know what was going on because I couldn't hear the sample, until I realized that the Output and Input were set to my iMac. Hope that helps, and I appreciate you watching!!🙏🏾✊🏾💚

Now I think Akai now knows that NOBODY uses that software. As a force user I am glad I am not being forced to use that thing. The only time I have to use it is to load up new expansion packs and I am getting those from export. Otherwise aint' nobody messin with that software. I use to try to use it back in the day with reason, but getting things to stay in sync was what moved me away from trying to use it. I realize they are working out the bugs on this, but they should have just waited honestly. They should know all of their user base is standalone.
Yeah it really has no effect on what I choose to do when I cook. Basically on board for the Stems and absolutely loving it!

I guess I and others are nobodies. I alternate between the MPC and MPC Software. Some on TH-cam seem to be using the software only or controller mode with the software and their DAW of choice.

Yeah fam, this was my first time using the MPC software is a very VERY long time. I used the software that came with the purchase of my X SE, and I only use it when I use Stems!🙏🏾✊🏾💚
@@lindasson I liked essentials. The beats kind of fast tracked functions of essentials and was quicker to access the tools with and load up daw and vst with though.
I got decent on it on my Mac. But trying to find a working version is hard af

Using the mpc ren isn't standalone. You're still using the software, lol. Just because you dont look at the screen doesn't make it stand-alone. true stand-alone is the older mp's infact your lookingnat the software onnthe ren screen lol

Stems is awful, dont promote this, it destroys sample quality, its been around for over a decade with RX, Serato, Spectral Layers and many more stem separation apps, nobody uses it because it's trash, the Akai one is the worst one ever maxe because it cabr use as much cpu or dedicate gpu, the Chinese company who brought out implemented a thriw away feature 1 decade late and marketed it as the best thing ever to fools. A digital file sample lower quality than mp3 is pointless, it does not sound good, its not nuanced like a S950, stems is straight trash.
