HI ,THANKS FOR INFOS. Do I need to remove door handle if I want to take off door metal panel? I want to change speakers and also put in antivibrating material, so I need to take out this metal panel. Im just not sure how deep with door dismantle do I need to go, to take metal panel off the door.
Unfortunately, yes - if you don't want to break a plastic retaining bracket that's riveted to the locking mechanism and door panel! This is the first of many, many, videos I've watched that actually refers to the locking mechanism and it's removal! (So thank you for that.) I'm replacing the speakers in my T5.1 and thought I'd apply some sound deadening mat whilst I was at it. I watched several videos and it didn't look too difficult. None of the mentioned the door handle/mechanism - so I went for it! I've now got a snapped bracket and working on how to fix it!
@@LeadAffinity Thank you✌ Yes, the right way to do it, is to remove the door handle and then the latch together with the plate. I know I've had a few cars where the guide broke due to incorrect dismantling
@@LeadAffinity No, it is not important. You can reinstall everything without it, and it will still work. It´s just a little bit more difficult at reinstallation
❤❤❤❤thank you verry much ❤❤❤

Is the guide important? Can I get away without it? Or will I need to source a replacement? If so, does it need a whole new lock mech?

Thanks so much for replying. It's a relief to read that!
