I know you commented this 3 years ago, but I literally just found out this wasn't the original opening yesterday and I was freaking out seeing that other song pop up on all other Naruto opening videos and I never heard of it in my life
@Daisy Mae no for this opening the American version is better for sure. The vibe and the way the characters look in the Japanese version doesn't match the character's actual personality at all
the Japanese one actually shows much better the personality and the dynamic of the characters, while this one is more action-y, it's like they wanted kids' pupils to dilate as quickly as possible. But they could've used the 2nd Japanese opening for that purpose rather than poorly editing an opening. I guess they wanted to keep it under 30 seconds.
I watched Naruto on the very first day of the year on 2007 (01/01/2007) at 10 pm... I couldn't even imagine the ripple effect that event triggered in my life as the series impacted me so deep that helped me to improve a lot in my life since then. And now I'm remembering that today, 15 years later...
@glenwo2 it is absolutely soft and mellow. What are you deaf? Do you listen to smooth jazz mostly or something? And generic rock? It's rock and it was original. Simple, yes, but not generic.
I like more the original, but I agree it sounds "softer". The 2nd Japanese opening blows this one out of water several times in terms of getting you hyped, however.

blackham7 japans commercial limit is only 30 seconds to a minute thats why most of they’re anime has over 1 minute long openings and endings also most of japans programs start 2 minutes before the first or second half of the hour
