So, I grew up on Naruto and it's my fave show. I remember exactly where I was when it first aired here in the U.S. in 2005. My wife did not grow up on it and I put her on. She finally started and finished part 1 this year and wanted to go thru all the openings. When she played the Japanese opening for the first episodes, she's like this is nostalgic for me, not for you? I'm like...wtf no. I never even heard this 80s bs before. (I couldn't remember the opening song or visual, I just knew it wasn't the Jap version) I find this video and play it to her and boom. That swift hit of nostalgia came. My heart got heavy. This American version is way better than the Jap hands down. Later, as we know, the other openings like GO! were bangers. And the "YOU ARE MY FRIEND!" Anyway, Naruto is the GOAT. And I'm legit happy my wife is now a fan talkin bout "bay I need to watch my show." And I'm just like..can't wait till you watch Shippuden.
Wow as a teenager in my 3rd year of high school naruto was my 4th favorite anime franchise before it was my 3rd watching I still liked it when covid hit i re watched it before shippuden man it made me felt like high school again instead of feeling like a old man i even had ramen that naruto eats few times i even have stuff based on it to

Noticed a lot of American version of intros like this, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Dragon Ball Z are more action packed and not alot of lyrics if any. It got me pumped to watch the show as a kid. So they were effective. Even though the Japanese op are better songs.
Me just starting the show subbed, but vaguely remembering as a kid watching the dub, knowing the intro seemed off lmao. I like both, but I definitely see why Americans got the "EXTREME NINJAS DOING EXTREME THINGS" over the "Japanese 80s tribute ballad"... I mean ffs Naruto looks like he's about to go ssj lol 😆

I watched Naruto on the very first day of the year on 2007 (01/01/2007) at 10 pm... I couldn't even imagine the ripple effect that event triggered in my life as the series impacted me so deep that helped me to improve a lot in my life since then. And now I'm remembering that today, 15 years later...
