Hey David! Yes, I typically use a 3" paddle tail swim bait that is firetiger color and white works as well. I have seen people catch them on many different colors so you can try anything but the firetiger works best for me. I do occasionally use a sqaure billed crank bait bouncing off the bottom, but of course the technique can be a little different and depend on the one you get. In the fall I also like to use a suspended jerk bait and do long pauses or "dead sticking". 90% of the Saugeye I catch is with this jigging method with a swim bait.
