Thanks a ton for these videos. I just bought a 2007 outlander 500 rebuild project. It has a loud motor knock so I am doing a full tear down. My first time and your vids helped get me over a few rough spots. Just about got it apart so will see the crankshaft area tomorrow. So far I see flakes of metal in one of the timing gear housing. The chain guide is frayed on that side as well. And the last bits of oil draining out look like chunks of mud! The pistons are fairly carbon coated and the plug tips are really coated up. Machine only had 2400 miles so it has been abused or not maintained. I hope I can get it fixed up. Want it as a second machine.
