- Happy 2 year anniversary Octopath Traveler! Spoiler warning, but I wanted to cover the background music of the final and secret area of the game, The Gate of Finis!
I recorded the audio for this quite some time ago but wasn't motivated to make a video until I saw the excitement around the anniversary. I want to thank Fredrik for mixing this beast of an arrangement (7 harp parts x 2 mics each = 14 tracks of harp all over the audio spectrum)!
This was, by far, the most involved video I have ever done! I hope you enjoy!

absolutely hypnotic. i've been following on tumblr since your undertale videos and saw you posted your website and looked around on it and saw that this was your most ambitious one and clicked it. i've never played octopath traveler so it must have slipped by me but this is spellbinding. the knocking especially. it's really amazing to see how you've grown as a harpist over the years!

This is absolutely gorgeous, Nile!!!! Probably a lesser known gem in the OST, I wonder how many OT players actually went on to the Gate of Finis.
Thank you, Andrew! I wish more people knew of this track but I guess it can't be helped given how hidden it is. I hope more people than I think actually went on to this final area because the lore is so excellently presented here!
@@harpsona totally! You really need to finish that area for the game to "tie together." If there's one weakness in OT, it's probably that the stories don't tie together more closely through the rest of the game, but I really liked how they wrapped everything up in the Gate, and then one of my favorite moments in the whole game was seeing the shot of all eight characters standing together against the final boss.
Agreed! I never beat Galdera (always got to the last phase) but reading all the entries and seeing it all come together blew my mind!
I went there... It was a painful boss fight, but it was worth it.

Octopath has such an amazing OST. Do you plan on covering any Bravely Default I/II/ Bravely Second tracks?
Bravely Default is actually one of my absolute favorite games! The first video I ever did on this channel was from BDFF, and I hope to do more from the series. I’m still only a few hours in to Bravely Default II.

As a professional harpist and musician for many years, here is my advice: you need to improve your technique. It isnt projecting the ideal sound the harp should produce. E.g close your fingers, press more onto the strings and your thumb should be placed higher. This would help the strings resonate more and project their sound. It would be beneficial if you added more dynamics and phrasing as well. I notice this has been lacking for almost all your videos.
