Arizona here, and we don't have daylight savings. We do fine without it. I love all your sock projects and your blankets. I think I'll start a granny stripe blanket to use up my acrylics. Hope you can get back on track with your sleep.
We really need to get rid of the time change. Everyone is miserable the week it happens. Hopefully your daughter’s issue with her braces was a one-time thing and you have a better week!
Hi Lisa! Glad you are okay… lovely socks and scrappy goodness! Hope you enjoyed Eras. We watched 6ft under years ago and I still remember those last few episodes… I loved that series. Happy almost Friday 💜Steph
Thank you for telling us about Hoopla! I realized last week, after watching you, that my library offers it so I downloaded the app and started an audiobook right away! Also, I love all of your projects!! And I’m new here. My hubby says “thanks for all the new yarn my wife has bought!” 😂😂😂
I have to say if you’re not planning to stay where the eclipse is happening I would recommend don’t go. A few years ago the total eclipse was happening in NC near my sisters house. We had a family member who lived in the path and only 1.5 hours away from my sisters house so we all loaded up the van to go see it. After it was over, it took us 7+ hours to get back to my sisters house. I had never seen such bad traffic. It was awesome to go see the eclipse and I guess it was one of those memories we will always talk about but I’m not sure it was worth it.
I’d say weigh the hot pink slippers when your done and add that as grams in then grams out and the rest is for your daughter. Destash is a lot of work, I’ve been just taking yarn, needles, (some hand dyed even), books to Goodwill. I’m positive it will be a tresure to a crafter that come across it, then I don’t have to worry about posting and mailing, etc…. 😊
Im just outside the path of the eclipse but Im hoping my family will get to enjoy it 🤷🏼♀️. Speaking of, I just found this out so I thought I’d share … there are ‘eclipse glasses’ so you can enjoy the eclipse without going blind. Amazon has some that are relatively cheap.
I've been listening to the Red Rising series told by the gentleman who calls himself The Bloody Bookmarker here on TH-cam. He has the best audio version IMO. Better than any paid versions and you can listen a chapter at a time right here for free. He's not finished the series yet and it's a wait once caught up but he's good. I've been intending to catch up on my Stephen West shawls and your MAL should be an extra incentive but I've suddenly been knitting on all else but. Right now just my blanket or socks lol.
Lisa, we have been warned here in Ohio to avoid the path of totality if possible on the 8th. Especially in Northwestern Ohio close to where you are planning to visit. Make sure you have a full tank of gas, food and water in the car because you could be stuck in a traffic jam.
Hope your daughter’s ortho appointment went well. My son lost brackets when the orthodontist had his teeth under more tension than “usual” (more tension meant more uncomfortable after an appointment so we knew they were under more tension (does that make sense?)). Daylight savings time is definitely a pet peeve of mine. I’m in Indiana and do so miss when we did’t observe it. Seeing the eclipse will be worth any traffic! I got to see one a few years ago and found it such an amazing experience. I am in the path of totality, and am so looking forward to it. I’m on the north side of Indianapolis if you need a place to go (driveway has plenty of parking and plenty of green space in walking distance). I have a few relatives coming into town, but have plenty of room for four more! Happy knitting
Still watching, but my thoughts on the pink is add it, then do your grams used and grams destashed to daughter. It’ll be a fun reminder when you look back and see “pink slippers for dad” in your notes 😊
Really great to see, 3 pairs this week! I really wish you would sell us your yarn. Bundles might work so there are fewer packages. Maybe when you reorganize you may reconsider.
Also, if your family needs a place to go, the Columbus zoo is opening for thr eclipse, or you could come to my house. I'm just outside of the path of totality.
Just a thought on your DK weight Cozy Memories. If you really wanted to use your self-striping you could hold it double with something that coordinates or just a plain white/grey that would let the stripes shine. Since you're running low that could be a good solution.
I’m glad you are feeling better, but sorry about the insomnia. That sucks. I’m in Arizona and love that we don’t have DST. The sun rises pretty early in the summer, but I’m a morning person anyway so NBD. At the risk of setting off more yarn buying, Brenda and Heather Yarns are making a self striping eclipse commemorative self striping yarn. I got a skein for my eclipse trip
❤hope ur week is better🎉🎉🎉 Enjoy seeing all ur socks!!!DK are fast!!!!I finished a pair so fast and started a scrappy pair!!! Take care Elaine⛄🧦🏠 It's Snowing again 😭
I love your socks! The Reindeer Games is beautiful knitted up! I can't wait to make mine. According to MY official Rules of Acquisition (on the front page of my Ravelry page - knitty78), pass through yarn doesn't count to your stash. And since you'll be giving the rest to your daughter, definitely not! I'm in SW Ohio and we are in totality. Our schools are out for the day. Destination Yarn has a Solar Eclipse yarn!
Managed to watch half so far as people keep interrupting! Argh but noticed an email off knitpicks that their 20% off site wide ends today (18th) and I remember you saying you needed to stock up on stroll when they had a sale.. I'm in the UK so I've yet to knit with any knitpicks but hope you are able to take advantage honey.. Take care ❤
Well. That certainly was a chipper podcast Lisa. With the three pairs of finished socks, I liked the middle one best. Perfect striping indeed. It was that time again. Our loved ones from the family were over for St. Patrick day dinner. And with the same three questions that comes out of their mouths every year. No1 Are you STILL knitting socks? No2 Why do you knit socks? And No3 Why knit socks when you can buy them at Walmart? Yada yada yada. Every year. It never changes. Wake me when the screaming over. Corn beef, potatoes, carrots, and I'm outta here. Saved by the freckled whimsey heel flap construction in progress. Same time next year!!!! Preparing my 1st ever scrappy stripe granny square blanket with my left over sock yarn. Have been watching your suggestive magic knot ball podcast to study from. Will be doing the 302 chain to begin as well. So many scraps I have. I wish you much loved healthy days ahead Lisa. Many prayers, and answered prayers in regards with your doctor visits. We are blessed with such advanced techniques now days concerning our well being and how to cope with personal growth and happiness. Strength, compliance, salvation. Take care. Prayers for rain. ❤
I don’t love Hoopla but I really don’t like Libby. And this month I ran out of borrows last week. I can only remember checking out 3 books so it feels like I got shorted 3. 😢
I'm in northeast Ohio, we're expecting over 3 million visitors so if you're interested in gas, food and parking shortages, stop down, it's going to be miserable.
Scrappy Afghan blanket is so pretty. And of course, love those socks! Look forward to your videos, great way to start my day.

That alone is a great reason to move to Arizona!

Thanks for keeping me company while i peel potatoes and carrots. Also finished the toe of a sock. See you next week ❤. Gail
Hello Lisa from Swansea, Illinois.
Love your watching your episodes! I'm a only about 20 minutes from you and would be more than happy to meet you and take your destash yarn!! 🤪
I've got to switch one of my Freckled Whimsy clubs to DK for a month or two. Stripey DK socks would be very nice...
I start my socks the same way to give the first round a different color

New here! Love the socks and Henrietta!

Yep! I already have eclipse glasses!
Shogun has been really good on Disney! It’s a new show, hard to knit and watch as there is a lot of subtitles but it has been an excellent show!

Yes. I’ve heard this. Part of me doesn’t want to go because of this. 😬

Yep. That’s what I decided to do.
Really great to see, 3 pairs this week! I really wish you would sell us your yarn. Bundles might work so there are fewer packages. Maybe when you reorganize you may reconsider.
I know. There isn’t an easy way to do it. And I’d rather knit. 🤣
Also, if your family needs a place to go, the Columbus zoo is opening for thr eclipse, or you could come to my house. I'm just outside of the path of totality.
Henrietta!!!!
Taking Friday off was a last-minute decision. Ikea was early delivering my furniture. The concert was Epic!

That’s a good idea! Why didn’t I think of that. 😆🤦🏻♀️

Ha ha ha.. I’m not sure you can be a “closet” knitter with 3.5k subscribers. We kinda know about it.
I hope things are going better! I crocheted to Eras Tour yesterday!
❤hope ur week is better🎉🎉🎉
Enjoy seeing all ur socks!!!DK are fast!!!!I finished a pair so fast and started a scrappy pair!!!

We got snow too. 😭

I added the yarn to my grams in. After I finish the slippers I will give the rest to my daughter and add the whole skein to grams out.

Thanks! My family also asks “Don’t you have enough socks?” They just don’t get it. 😒
And they never will get. It's something that we have and do that we can't explain.
I LOVED throne of glass series!
I could NOT get into Red Rising after book 1. It was very just, not my type/style.
I don’t love Hoopla but I really don’t like Libby. And this month I ran out of borrows last week. I can only remember checking out 3 books so it feels like I got shorted 3. 😢

I changed my mind. I’m stay home. My husband is still going. 🤣🙄
