@@pinkfloyd7572 well, in the video it turns on the F14's tape player. There are binds for it. You can also have a command play music from your computer if you wanted, either specific track or random as well.
I have been using this program today and I must say that I am very excited about it. It took me about an hour to set it up for my needs. At first it was very difficult and unfamiliar to communicate with the PC or DCS. Now it works really fine with DCS. I did not expect that. This completely changes my experience and feeling for this simulation. Thank you very much for this great explanatory video.
i'm having problems with my speech in windows, im brazillian and for brazillian portuguese things are limited, but i've managed to put it in english and that's not a problem to me. I found this video trying to solve that but i've found myself in a much better lesson than i expect, this video is a gem. Thank you for all this knowledge, im gonna put in practice, i've just started out dcs in VR and controls was becoming a problem, much more in FC2024 planes. Thank you again and you gotta a new follower.
Thank you for the tutorial. There are others about VoiceAttack+DCS but it was somewhat lucky I encountered yours when I did. I immediately went bananas with Voice Attack with DCS. I play ThroughTheInferno servers with multiple maps, multiple modules, a TrackIR+HOTAS(CM3+TM_F/A-18/F16EX)+2xMFD Cougars+StreamDeck setup with more than enough keys and buttons do what I want and I was still a tier shy of having a better experience. I was making my first attempts at air to air refueling and the big thing that annoyed me was this: calling out "ready precontact" was annoying to have to take my eyes off of formation flying; but also mixing that stateful comm menu with other radio comms was also really annoying. Solution: VoiceAttack. Now I can say "Ready precontact" while focused and never look away. Here's how I went bananas in 2 days (worth a TH-cam guide if I was a real content creator). With Through The Inferno (TTI) servers, depending on your aircraft, maybe depending on the server, the F10 options for Mission Intel Center, JTAC, EWRS/AWACS, and the Airboss are immensely useful functions but may end up in different sub menus depending on what module you fly, maybe what slot you choose, or even the map. You *could* create separate VoiceAttack profiles per this but I couldn't immediately tell what the finite choices were so my VoiceAttack for DCS is really 4 layered profiles. TrackIR management (no more HOTAS buttons for center and pause); gaming common (recording, I don't stream but if I did...); DCS core for common controls for any DCS server / "most" modules; and lastly, any server specific profile. The server specific profile includes commands from all of the others. So for TTI, it's always F10 initially, but after that JTAC, EWRS, Airboss, and Mission Intel may end up on different F keys you can't predict easily. So I made commands to configure them specifically (they are always F1-F5, maybe F6). And I referenced and layered commands such that "Request Picture" etc does F10, references how to access EWRS, and then presses F2 or F3. If EWRS changes per server, module, or whatever, I just need to say the configuration command that changes it. In order to do this I needed to write about 6-7 lines of C# code (trivial, I'm a profession software engineer), and it works beautifully. Note: I also paid for VoiceAttack. I'm well over the 20 command limit.
I've had Voice Attack and DCS for a while... questioning my intelligence that I never thought to combine them.... Got Voice Attack to deploy Stratagems in Helldivers 2 But telling Jester to shut up?! That's the secret sauce
This is great thanks for sharing! I did have a question, I bound a joystick button for VA to start listening for a command, then ideally I wanted to bind the same joystick button plus a key modifier in dcs to open the comms menu in case i need to get in there manually while I set things up, but I noticed when I press that same button even with the key modifier, VA starts listening for a command. is there a way to turn that off? obviously not a huge deal but for as extensive as this program seems to be i figured there was a way and I was just missing it.
any chance you would know how to make voice attack write things down, like notes? My god-tier idea would be to dictate to VA and have it write down East/West coordinates, be able to convert from decimal to/from minutes-seconds and MGRS, and be able to enter that info into a CDU/FMS. now THAT would be helpful. imagine getting a 9-line and just saying to VA to coords, then say "put it in the FMS" and it just smashes the keys on the CDU for you... oof wetness.
Excellent tutorial. I have been using FoxVox, but am not completely satisfied with it. Have played with VA, but have found it more daunting to set up. This goes a long way to making that easier. Question: are you able to successfully use VA with either the built in multiplayer comms ("voice chat") or SRS? FoxVox seems to "hog the mike" and appears to conflict with this (at least my son and I can't make it work...). Any ideas/thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated.
How do you get the windows speech menu to work? The one at around 3:45? I have had to spam it for ages just to get it to finally let me add a different dialect through the add voice menu option, but then it won't let me select anything other than English (US) in the dropdown box and it says all of the voice packs are 0MB.
You can make it work with spotify but the music in the video is the ingame music of the F14.. it has a casette player that the RIO can operate.. the VA just triggers the bind for it.

Great video! Thanks! Any further details on how to replicate the F10 marking with notes?

Love Voice Attack in DCS. Watching your video now and enjoying it.
Just subbed. This was a great tutorial man. Extremely helpful, and the charity streams you did are very honorable too
Great video, RhynO! Thanks for sharing.
Great tutorial and example buddy, just what I needed.
Thy for the great video.
Very pleasant voice and well explained.
Excellent video, well done, helpful and really funny too, thanks Rhyn0!!
Amazing video! I’m going to get this setup soon. I play TrackIR but this will be incredibly helpful.
Looks very handy for VR. Button pushing sucks in VR. I'm in.
thank you very much for the video, it was a very helpful feature to learn

To export all the commands from DCS bios/bort/community controls into voice attack?

Do you happen to have your profile available for download? Looking at yours it would be a good starting point for my setup.

I never tried ingame comms, but it definitely works perfect with SRS
Thanks! Will give SRS a try with VA and report back. Unfortunately, the built-in comms seem to be a bit of kludge still...
theres a guy named Bailey, made amaaaazing voice attack profiles for most of the "hot" modules in dcs like apache, f16, f18, etc.. check it out!
do you know if theses any links for em?

You can make it work with spotify but the music in the video is the ingame music of the F14.. it has a casette player that the RIO can operate.. the VA just triggers the bind for it.
How about VAICOM PRO, any videos on that? It is free to download now
I have vaicom but don't use it. Too complicated and didn't work right for me. Just VA works perfect for what I need.
I like Baileys but this seems very useful for a universal profile. Do you share your profile?
