    First time viewer, your rational makes a lot of sense and you don’t concern yourself with the hype. The Platinum card has made sense for me the past 3 years, I fly a lot due to work and I like visiting Europe annually. Airline/UberEats/Streaming= $600 cover existing spending and I fly mostly Delta/ partners with Sky Club and Centurion lounges at my home airport. But the card didn’t make sense for me a few years earlier.

      Flying a lot for work can totally help justify the card, if I did then I probably would already have it. Seems like it makes more sense for you to have so that’s great to hear! Appreciate you watching!

    I just picked up the Platinum Business for 200k SUB, soft pull, and no 5/24 slot. Rumors are they change the card in December, so possible double dip opportunities too, before they raise the fee. Waited till June so I can use the statement credits for Jan-June too and still get both credits for next year. All around great deal for $15k spend and cancel in 2025.

      Double dipping is a great strategy! Makes it even better with that SUB and that it didn’t have a hard pull or take a 5/24 slot. Lots of value for year 1!

    Definitely get where you're coming from. Its a great card if you can really pull the value from it to be worth the cost. And having a P2 makes it hit a little bit harder haha.
    Wouldn't be a bad idea at all to get it for a 1 yr run to capitalize on that bonus and the benefits, then see if you can get a ret offer later on.

      The P2 thing is what really hurts lol but yeah definitely thinking about that year 1 value which allows me to try it out too

    Looking forward to your 1 year review of the card. Hope you share your FHR experience!

    Definitely makes sense especially with getting the RC Card soon and the Sapphire Lounge at your home airport being live soon, to why you'd want to pass on the Platinum. It's a hefty fee and especially with lounge access restrictions making it so that you kinda have to pay that additional AU Fee, I can see why people would pass on it. There's a lot of crossover with high AF Cards as well, and like you said getting those same travel protections on the VX is another reason to where there'd be less value found on the Plat. Like you said though, with the 175k offer floating around, I think pretty much everyone should at least get it for Y1, try for a retention offer and then make a decision beyond that. Great video Cody!

      Matt! Glad you can see my points as to why I haven’t gotten it! That 175k SUB is too tempting so I’ll have to try it out and then determine if I want to keep it or not. Appreciate you watching!

    For 1 year, card is a no brainer if you need those top up membership rewards points

    • @Cody.Little
      @Cody.Little  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it really is, just an insane amount of points from the sub

    What’s the equivalent of the 175 K points ?

    • @Cody.Little
      @Cody.Little  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you use the points through the Amex travel portal, it’s 1 cent per point so $1,750. But you can often find pretty good deals on their travel partners websites using their specific points and all you have to do is transfer the points to that program which can net you $2,500+ in value

    Agree the platty isn’t for everyone. For me, since the have the Venture X the need for it isn’t really needed. The platty will be for the sub and then cancel (for now) 😂

    • @Cody.Little
      @Cody.Little  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep I feel that! No denying the sub is amazing but beyond that, the Venture X is all I need

    Walmart + has Paramount + for free and $0.10 savings per gallon in gas

    • @Cody.Little
      @Cody.Little  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely some other things to factor in! Unfortunately for me, I don’t use Paramount+ and I also don’t get gas at any of the Walmart partners since they’re usually more expensive anyways

    Taking the 50k offer for 2k spending is a good idea. I need help.

      That offer is for the platinum? Honestly haven’t heard of that one, but lower spend can be better for some!

    The equinox credit is 1000% worth it. Health is wealth.

      Equinox credit?

    • @Cody.Little
      @Cody.Little  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree health is wealth! However, equinox is only available in a few cities (not mine) and there are much cheaper alternatives which is why I’m not a fan of the credit
