Hi Fred, yes absolutely! You can do that using our basic metal embossing techniques. For more information, you can watch some more of the tutorial videos on this channel, or visit our metal embossing courses at metalembossing.kartra.com/page/Courses
I tried 24 gage brass it was a mistake!! too hard to press into : ( I cant find any pewter on amazon.. They say that aluminum is the softest. I guess Ill try that^^ I tried the links above and they are not working. Could we get the full link please?
Happened to know abt this art from my mom's friend n I was hunting for details on the same.thnq so much for detailed explanation on the metal itself.❤️
Thank you for sharing! Why don't they make one that has a Brass/ Golden color?! I'm trying to look for one, however an actual brass sheet (even 0.3 mm) is too rigid to emboss by hand like pewter or aluminum sadly :(
@@NinetteKruger Thank you for your help! I have looked all over for a brass/gold colored sheet of pewter for embossing, it's so surprising that they would make it in copper, silver, red, pink and not brass/gold, it seems like a color people would want :) This is what I'm trying to recreate, it measures 64cmx52cm, it's the Sleeping Beauty prop book, which was originally made of hammered brass, but I think I would rather do it by hand and not need to hammer: Sorry the link is too long :)
Hi Manisha, you have various options. Some people use oil paint, I’ve used acrylic paint, glass paint, metal paint, metal patina, sharpies and alcohol ink before. You just need to protect your work with a clear acrylic spray. Hope that helps 😉
Hi Raj, unfortunately you can't use kitchen foil for embossing, but there are other craft projects you can do with them. If you Google Metal foil crafts you'll see some tutorials. We use a Aluminium sheet of 0.3-0.5mm thick (36-38 Gauge in the US). Hope that helps!
Hi Anandavalli, please click on the link to my recommendations for metal embossing products: nkmetalembossing.kartra.com/page/Shop The final cost would depend on your location and shipping costs to where you are. Hope that helps!
Hi BK, yes it would. Just make sure the thickness (gauge) is thin enough to emboss by hand. Normally a gauge of 38 or 38 works well, and remember to fill the back of your design with melted beeswax to keep the shape of your embossed project.
I tried many times with aluminium foil which we cover the food with unfortunately!!! and I failed and failed and failed 🙄 until I watched your video, I shocked 🤔 when you told that don't use it, know I knew why the results were unsatisfying, it is very then , I tried and tried, I was pressing the ball pen but invain , thank you so much to clear that.
For larger projects, I would recommend Aluminium as its more affordable than pewter. You'll have to play around to find the best way for you to put them together. What size do you have in mind?
Hi Tyba, pewter doesn't, but you get colour coated aluminium sheets which you can emboss in the same way. You can add colour to pewter projects using alcohol ink, glass paint, gilding paste, shapries and even acrylic paint.
Thank you for very useful information. Can you please share the link from where I can buy these from India? Also which metal sheet is best for large size of painting for wall decor ? I would really appreciate your guidance.
