The music is definitely annoying on the NES. But in the arcade...That song rocks hard! Had many happy afternoons playing it at my local Ingles back in the day. It's just not the same on the NES, even though it doesn't look that different. But if you know, you can tell.
I am nothing if not committed... but believe me the temptation was strong. Good news is you can beat the game at least once through in just a few minutes, so if that's all you're after it's not that difficult. But why chase a rainbow when a pot of sh*t is all that's at the end of it??

There was actually a Famicom sequel: Fudou Myouou Den.
But it was localized for the NES as Demon Sword.
