    I love how that kitty is living their best life while you're almost going creatively crazy 😔

    when writing my own story, i try to remember that the first draft is where you tell the story to yourself, and it doesn't need to be perfect, even though i still edit lol. also, i love your channel, the algorithm did me right!

      Yess that’s such good advice, I always get so worked out about it being crap that I never a fault do anything lmao. I’m trying to push through that and let it be bad. And thank you :,) so glad you’re here! good luck with drafting, hope we can continue together💫

    The "I have to leave" plot hole reminds me of how sometimes characters in a tv show will leave to check on someone else and I think "they could have just called them" but I love the show so much that I just make myself forget technology exists lol so glad you figured it out!

      BAHAH that’s soo right!! I’ve never even thought of that, but it makes so much logical sense, like just shoot them a text ???

    Remember, the first draft is always a little “yeugh”.
    That’s why there are second drafts, and third drafts, and drafts all the way until the final draft that you’re proud of.
    I had to edit my first 5 chapters of my book 7 times until I reached an accurate beginning to the book.
    It took cutting several characters completely, cutting parts of the dialogue and story, and adding basically a whole new plot.
    It was obnoxious, but at least I like my own book now.

    • @kekayowrites
      @kekayowrites  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re completely right, it’s just so difficult to remember that in the moment! I’ve had similar revision journeys as well, and it’s so so difficult, but so worthwhile. Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely try to hold onto that thought. First drafts are allowed to suck💪🏾

    everything is so cozy about this hall. Love your channel. I'm in the trying not to edit and add things I need to add as I write my first draft but it's so hard because I want my second draft to just be a touch up on grammar, punctuation, and maybe a few things need for the character and not a whole re-write ya know ahah. You got this though, awesome job on 36k :)

    • @kekayowrites
      @kekayowrites  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank youuuu :,) and YEAH it’s so hard to not go through and edit as I go. I’m halfway between accepting that may just be my process but also it’s stopping me from finishing anything so maybe I shouldn’t accept it ahahah. Good luck with writing!!

      @@kekayowrites How have you progressed with untangling it? For me sitting on it for a day or two and letting the problem stay in the back of my mind + getting inspired by other works usually does the trick (or I get myself in much bigger trouble lol)

    The true start of your writing process is when you feel like your book is trash. Once you get past this feeling, you get back to work and bring your story to a point where you aren't utterly disappointed in it.
    Rinse and repeat ten times.
    Profit.

    Just a writing tip, if you kill the part of you that cringes, then your book won’t improve.
    The way you know a part of your book isn’t great is by cringing at it.
