BS 6.2 represents an updated version of the BS 6 emission norms, aimed at reducing harmful vehicle emissions for a cleaner environment. We discuss why the price difference between BS 6.2 and BS 6 bikes is relatively small, despite the implementation of new features.
One of the key factors contributing to the price hike in BS 6.2 bikes is the inclusion of an oxygen sensor in the exhaust system. We explain how the oxygen sensor monitors oxygen levels in the exhaust gases and provides real-time feedback to the engine control unit (ECU).
By adjusting the fuel-air mixture based on this feedback, the ECU ensures optimal combustion and lower emissions. We highlight how this real-time pollution control feature helps keep the price hike minimal, as only one oxygen sensor is required for compliance.
Comparing the transition from BS 4 to BS 6, we explore the extensive modifications needed in the exhaust system to meet stricter emission standards. In contrast, BS 6.2 bikes, already complying with basic BS 6 norms, require lesser modifications, resulting in a smaller price increase.

Pollution can't be reduced, they are just splitting or converted into other form of pollution.
Bs6 vehicle involves lots of electronic components, ecm boards ets - this create pollution during manufacturing & also these components will create soil pollution after it's life time. (and also when compared to mechanical devices these electronic components can not be repaired it can only be replaced & also low live time) - these are all the things we should consider.
Same goes to electric vehicle, manufacturing battery will create lots of pollution and water loss and also life time of battery is only 8 to 10 year which is very dangerous. More over in foreign countries electricity is generated using renuable sources like solar but in India nuclear power plant and thermal power plant which creates lots of pollution. So now it's not a good time to adopt electric vehicle. At first change the power generation methods.
