This music, in Stradal's transcription, played beautifully by Víkingur, has become one of my all-time favourites. The other day, I listened to it played on an organ J S Bach might have been familiar with. I didn't like it anywhere near as much as I like this version!! Víkingur is the best pianist of the last twenty years for me. Bravissimo! 🎉❤😊
A fan of this piece that Vikingur O. introduced me to, I am amazed by this version: the countersongs, the power of contrasts and nuances, this immense artist reinvents himself! Now I can't choose which version I prefer: they are like two sister works, similar but with their own character. You are a genius pianist, Mr Olafsson, a true source of joy and inspiration to follow you!
Love it! One of the strongest upward measures (1:59 to 2:16) resolves in a comparatively banal resolution(2:16 to 2:20). Spontaneously reminds me of the last 10 software-implementation-projects at work. Bach is such a genius to predict my todays working experience.
