I have a best friend in school called Chloe and this perfume is so good for her cuz the name of the perfume is CHLOE and her name is CHLOE so it actually goes together ryt?hope I have money so when I grow up if we still know each other and if both of us are still friends I would like to give her a CHLOE PERFUME or a CHLOE SET for her birthday or on any event like Xmas😉
As I am turned off by stale candied florals, this was a "hit" for me! I love the homage to antique powder compacts- this scent is warm and feminine, yay Chloe! Katie, I'm so glad you liked it, too.
My thoughts after smelling Love, Chloé for the first time was: Wow! You wear this perfume (and nothing else) and you're dressed. Such a lovely fragrance. :-)
I tried this while at the mall recently and really liked it a lot, and DH likes it on me too. I usually get "Eh that's not too bad" But this scent he liked! Thanks for your fun & thoughtful reviews, Katie.
@BellamyBlue I didn't have a metallic problem, but the perfume does hang around in a distinct atmosphere, and if it doesn't hit you as being pleasant, you are kind of stuck with it. I find that it takes at least 10 minutes to settle in.
I bought this on a whim in duty-free in December (I always like to get a new perfume on my way on holiday to bring back happy memories later on!). It's definitely not my usual kind of thing, I usually prefer woody, spicy orientals but for some reason I really love this - great review and spot on - I'd never actually considered it as violet. Shame on me, as I studied perfumery at uni :-)
O.O wow i wana smell that, the description was exciting and mysterious in a way Im definitely putting my nose on that lol well you changed the background I like the sudden change and still kept it like the other one because of the glass bottles to the left
Loved the review! Sounds like I should give it a go. As for you, I'd recommend to smell "Vanitas" by Versace. I just bought it at the airport duty free, they told me it was quite new, so maybe there is a chance you haven't tried it yet. For me it has so many masculine perfume notes, it drives me crazy. Yet it is fresh enough for the summer. And oh yeah, it definitely releases all the vanity in me...
Hi Katie! I LOVE this video! I can feel the excitement you have for this perfume! I always seem to ask this, because I'm a firm believer in shared fragrances, but can a guy wear this? I mean without smelling awkward, like I just played with grandma's face powder... And I like the new background too. Your house, well what I've seen of it so far from the reviews, appears to be gorgeous. Rodrigo the Perfume Dog has a beautiful home!
@brianbarrtt I don't want to stop you from exploring and experimenting, so by all means try Love, Chloe yourself. But I do think the powdery cosmetic top note and the general "soft pinkness" of the scent marks it as firmly feminine. However, it does have a bit of a masculine spine in the drydown, when a spicy musk comes to the fore. I'd be interested to hear from any guys who manage to carry it off.
Great review. BUT this perfume smells EXACTLY like the rose shaped soaps my Auntie has in her 80th Laura Ashley decorated guest bathroom ... lol! I've got it myself though, I just love it. It's a really nice tender sweetness as you said it's flowery, not candy or fruity. Yay!
@thedivers100 There are a bunch of great violets that lean more towards the masculine side, both straight violets and violet leaf. Many of them are niche. Here are some of the goodies: Grey Flannel by Geoffrey Beene, Eau de Cartier (both regular & Concentrée) by Cartier, Serge Lutens Bois de Violette, Keiko Mecheri Genie des Bois, Creed Green Irish Tweed, Ava Luxe Midnight Violet.
I tried this one in the department store around Christmas, and literally had to run to the ladies' room to wash it off with soap. It took on a strong metallic smell on me which I couldn't stand...I've never had a 'chemistry' issue before, so maybe I should give it another try because I do love violet.
@SkreetGil Thanks so much! I'm just re-familiarizing myself with J'Adore these past few days. It's a big, opulent floral, fresh scrubbed, with some fruit to sweeten it further. I think I prefer the Absolue version.
I was'nt crazy about the chloe perfumes that are out there , and that is why i didnt have any interest in smelling this one , but it sounds great, like the new backround,xx
This was a fantastic review! LOL at the "spilled kool-Aid all over the front of your onsie" comment. BTW I love your necklace! Where did you purchase it?
This is a rather feminine scent. I may need this perfume to breathe for a few minutes (well maybe an hour) before it smells acceptably unisex. But even then, it still has that distinctly feminine-perfume smell. Although, if I really wanted to, I don't think that would stop me from wearing this. That being said, it IS gorgeous and beautifully made. And it lasts on the skin too, something I look for in the perfumes I buy. I love the slightly salty musk drydown.
@cathi76 Y'know, violet isn't in the listed notes, maybe I'm smelling a facet of the iris, which is violet-y, but I do perceive violet right at the top. How interesting to have studied perfumery at uni!
I must try this one then because I love violet scents. What do you think of the Annick Goutal violet parfume 'La violette' ? I love your parfume reviews :-)
This sounds interesting Katie. I wasn't very impressed with the other Chloes either. They seem to be missing something. I will deffinitely have to test this one out. If you like it there's a good chance that I will like it. I think we have similar tastes in fragrance. :)
@KatiePuckrikSmells Ooh, that sounds like a challenge. I'll test it to see if I can envision myself wearing it. Though there ARE some scents that I cannot wear, even if I forced it. Like Organza by Givenchy, for example. Its white floral top and heart notes smell rather dated and somewhat "old lady", despite the vanillic, woodsy drydown. There's something fascinating about guys who wear fragrances that are perceived as "pretty". Why do girls get to have all the fun in perfume cross-dressing?
My mom has been pushing me to smell this perfume for a while now, but I always seem to forget to ask for a sample... I think I'll try it next time I go shopping though :)
@nycartist9 This is so far off the kinds of perfumes I have in my collection (big rose/incense/patchouli/musk numbers), and it just goes to show you that there's always the potential to fall in love with something new and different.
@domperrier It's been while since I smelled Insolence, dp, but I do remember that it's huge, and Love, Chloe is a soft, mellow little number. So probably no comparison. I need to revisit Insolence now...
@thedivers100 There's a really knowledgeable SA at Liberty's, Stuart. I'm sure he could point you in the direction of something great. And while you're there, go to the Frederic Malle area and try Dans tes Bras, another violet that might work for you.
love the new background. i wouldn't have tried Love by Chloe for the same reasons you wouldn't (can't believe they sell their other ones as "perfumes"?!?! and they are quite popular too :-O ) .. anyway, will definitely give this one a try now :) thanks
I spritzed my sample today and it is lovely. It also reminds me of something from the late 80s or early 90s. I feel like some sort of rose water... Anyhow, it's delightful. I just keep sniffing myself, trying to justify buying a bottle when the hubby just bought me Cartier Basier Vole.
@VenustasSomnium Haven't seen that one in the US...ah! Just had a brainwave - will check out the Westwood boutique that recently opened in LA to see if they carry the fragrances...
Hahha, I love your videos so much, that I'm watching this in 240p cause I can't wait! I'm gonna check this fragrance out! =D Rice? I love to eat rice..so..>;]
@Gialuname Thanks! I designed the necklace myself: I found the bakelite rose at a flea market and had a jeweler put it together with carnelian beads.
Always have the most amazing descriptions!
I have a best friend in school called Chloe and this perfume is so good for her cuz the name of the perfume is CHLOE and her name is CHLOE so it actually goes together ryt?hope I have money so when I grow up if we still know each other and if both of us are still friends I would like to give her a CHLOE PERFUME or a CHLOE SET for her birthday or on any event like Xmas😉
that's so sweet 💌
As I am turned off by stale candied florals, this was a "hit" for me! I love the homage to antique powder compacts- this scent is warm and feminine, yay Chloe! Katie, I'm so glad you liked it, too.
My favourite. I want it back. And the elegant 70s feel ad.Love .Yes,I did.
Kenzo Amour is another perfume with a lovely creamy rice note. Great review!
Omg I miss so much this perfume. I wore it on my wedding. I always wonderes why did they discontinued? Are they nuts? It was such a gorgeous perfume!!
My thoughts after smelling Love, Chloé for the first time was: Wow! You wear this perfume (and nothing else) and you're dressed.
Such a lovely fragrance. :-)

You look so pretty:) What lipstick är you wearing? Hope you'll have a great summer!
cant wait to get mine tomorrow! feel in love with it when i got it as a sample.
Loved the review! Sounds like I should give it a go.

I read that Florence Welch wears this perfume, so I thought it might be interesting. I cannot wear the soapy rose Chloe.
@StrawberryBlonde10 The commercial has an exciting late 70s disco feel and look to it.
@SkreetGil Thanks so much! I'm just re-familiarizing myself with J'Adore these past few days. It's a big, opulent floral, fresh scrubbed, with some fruit to sweeten it further. I think I prefer the Absolue version.
Katie, could you do a review of See By Chloe?
I was'nt crazy about the chloe perfumes that are out there , and that is why i didnt have any interest in smelling this one , but it sounds great, like the new backround,xx

@delabet It doesn't sound goofy, because the chair *is* heart shaped. In fact, I think it looks like I have little red wings...
@mai567 I'm so happy I tried it, let me tell you. And the bonus is that the bottle is so chic.
Katie could you review Christian Dior's J'adore? I know this is an old one but I'd love to hear your opinion on it. Thank you so much!
@BarrysDaughter Oh, it is! I wore my sample again today.
@domperrier It's been while since I smelled Insolence, dp, but I do remember that it's huge, and Love, Chloe is a soft, mellow little number. So probably no comparison. I need to revisit Insolence now...
@JamesforIne Everyone will always have their own unique relationship with a fragrance...just like with a song.
I like very much this fragrance
@thedivers100 There's a really knowledgeable SA at Liberty's, Stuart. I'm sure he could point you in the direction of something great. And while you're there, go to the Frederic Malle area and try Dans tes Bras, another violet that might work for you.
i think the toilette one is the best. my all time favorite perfume. but hey, it`s different for everyone :)
love the new background. i wouldn't have tried Love by Chloe for the same reasons you wouldn't (can't believe they sell their other ones as "perfumes"?!?! and they are quite popular too :-O ) .. anyway, will definitely give this one a try now :) thanks
@DODYDIOR Not yet...
@thedivers100 Wow, that was quick! Glad you got a violet result.
I have to agree I hated the other ones but this one I love!
Will you review See by Chloe for me, please?
Love your little dimples!
@Voyeur53 Let me know what you think. I was very pleasantly surprised.
I love your reviews.I'm so glad I was right! though I was going crazy for smelling rice. Love this fume
As soon as you said 'nostalgic' I wanted to smell it.
@LuvCatz905 It's a very nice smell. I think of it more as an aromatherapy smell than one I crave in a perfume.
HUMMMMMMMM....SHE MAKES ME GO CRAZZY WITH CHLOE LOVE. THANK YOU
Your reviews are great like always
@lilhiphopgirl101 No, none of those things. Just literally like starchy rice. Almost a butteryness, too.
I always wanted to try this perfume. I love the commercial for it.

@StealthAudrey Thanks for letting me know you got a good result!
