BGM by Sandeep Chowta creates the atmosphere of Satya. He should be credited as much for Satya's high recall value.

The scene where Satya for the final time comes to see his Vithya and he begs her to open the door and she refuses in fright & anger, while the Police guns him down and he falls dead at her feet, as the door opens, while she sits on the bed watching him in tears & dismay is a scene so disturbing it haunts you.
Pure genius minds whoever who wrote this end scene.❤

Utter genius of a film and kudos to all who were involved in making this film, especially RGV. Satya was a landmark film. It literally changed the way people look at films. These behind-the-scenes stories are just amazing to listen to. Just mindblowing how the lines between reality and film just converge and blur.

I watched Satya in December 2023 for the first time and was completely blown away by the cinematography, world-building, and storytelling of the film. It felt like watching a documentary or a hollywood-level cinematic recording of a sting operation. The characters were so real and relatable that I forgot about the actors' other films and accepted them as the characters of Satya. The dramatic orchestral music only heightened the appeal of the unfolding storyline. It was hard to believe that such a feat could be achieved in 1998. This movie is one of the finest masterpieces of Bollywood. It should be studied and taught in film schools. Hats off to its creators, cast, and crew members. And thanks a million to everyone involved in the making of this anniversary video!

Having grown up watching the 70s & 80s crime thrillers from the Mumbai film industry, the genre was usually concentrated on the Hero and the Villain. The villain's sidekicks and foot soldiers who usually did the dirty work were taken for granted.
Satya changed all that, giving them the human side to their existence and life, inspite of all the evil they unleashed (at the Boss' beck and call).
From the chaos and uncertainty of the Mumbai city, to the 99% of populace that run it, Satya captured it in its entirety. No wonder everybody connected with it then, and now, 25 years later...
As the cast and crew admitted it, the broad brush strokes of the characters and the work-in-progress storyline was probably the reason the raw, gritty, almost unfinished film still endears to all cinephiles.

Some scenes in Satya still gives me goosebumps even though I am from Karachi. In 1990s there was a lot of political violence in Karachi too. Since the movie shows ordinary untrained gangsters who had friends, families, neighbors, etc. makes it so much relatable to real life. The operation clean up by the police was even more relatable as the backlash from the gangsters toward the police also happened in real life and almost all the famous policemen who were involved got killed one-by-one in the following years.

They should re-released this film in theatre. It would have been an amazing experience.

In 18.33 to 18.43, it is mentioned that Shefali Shah's character was named 'Rani' in Satya.
Correction: Shefali Shah's character is 'Pyaari' and not 'Rani'.
    Apologies for the error.
