Assault on Arkham is how the Suicide Squad movie should be like.
No clear villan, just Amanda Waller being Amanda Waller, the Squad doing her dirty work and Joker and Batman getting involved in the mix and doing their things.
I really enjoyed Green Lantern and Suicide Squad, but the scripts for First Flight and Assault on Arkham should have been used and made longer for the live action movies.
Not necessarly the same script, but something similar to that would be just perfect hehe

Holy shit 1:57:18. This is an infinitely better film than what was shown. This is what happens when studios interfere and arbitrary film lengths are set. The scenes that were cut would've addressed most of the complaints about the film. Namely, characters and storylines that were two dimensional and not fleshed out well

jacoblgames yes they are , Zack Snyder himself revealed the storyboard for Darkseid scene and Deathstroke scene , and new deleted scene confirmed the Black Suit , most of the Deleted scenes are present in Twitter in DCEULeaks , Joss Whedon was brought in by WB , it was basically Studio interference since they wanted Zack out and since Justice League was already a better film , they wanted to make sure JL fails and blame it all on Zack so that they could fire him.

Additionally, you're ignorant if you think Warner Bros. actually wanted Justice League to flop at the box office. With the the amount of money it cost just to make the film alone, they'd actually want it to succeed to make sure they don't end up losing a lot of money.
jacoblgames DCEULeaks is a legitimate account , though the admin likes to keep his identity private , its proven that most of the deleted scenes were actual footages from the movie , as for Joss Whedon , yes , he was part of the crew from the beginning , Snyder and Whedon mutually agreed on removing the Green Lantern cameo in the end credit of Justice League because Green Lantern Corps hasn't had much progress yet , and yes he was brought in to add humor since Snyder wanted humor in Justice League movie so that he could balance the tone of the film , because if you remember Snyder said in the early interview during production of JL that JL will be more light hearted and more or the type of film WW was.
As for WB , it is clear that they are covering up their hypocrisy , WB is desperate since 2007 to start a Cinematic Universe just because Marvel did , and they failed multiple times with Superman Returns and Green Lantern , but thanks to Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy , DC breathed easily since there was never a debate whether Marvel or DC was better since both were doing their own thing , and thus Nolan and Snyder agreed to continue that legacy and hence started a Superman movie series , Snyder claimed that a Superman story can never be told in a trilogy , the original plan by Nolan-Snyder was a six part Superman movie series with Snyder directing the first three Superman movies and then handing over the next three to Patty Jenkins , but as Man Of Steel released and performed well , and Snyder started working on MOS2 , WB shoved DCEU down their throats and forced them into a cinematic universe , thus ended up making more poor decisions in the process , then WB understood with Snyder staying they can never have a Cinematic Universe since Sadly Snyder is a polarizing director (Though I like his movies a lot) , hence they fired him during JL post production , and made sure JL fails so that they can continue this "wet Dream" of a DC cinematic universe.
in short , DCEU deserves all this hate and reviews because its a "greed" made by WB to be Disney , and it Backfired poorly , I am happy that Snyder left , its better he stays away from this BS , and starts making movies on his own , my wish is a MAX PAYNE movie directed by Zack Snyder.

holy shit that plot in the Snyder cuts sounds way better than the one in the actual movie. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie but that sounds so much better.

I don't think the Aquaman lasso scene was written by Whedon because that joke had already been done in the Wonder Woman animated movie and in the comics. The WW animated movie did it first with Steve Trevor and the Justice League comics did it with Green Lantern.

I kinda saw Race With the Devil. Went to the drive-in with my parents when the movie came out. I wasn’t supposed to be watching. Nightmares forever from that one. I appreciate that Kevin remembers movies like this.

"Rewarding the audience". That's what Zack Snyder's JL cut would've likely done. Both Geoff Johns and Joss Whedon failed to help Snyder fully deliver.
I love the way Mark approaches writing, his take on Superman in so on point.
I think that the superpower of Batman discussion (super-will) is more like he is incapable of feeling despair. He never says/thinks "I can't do this". It's always "how do I do this". While it gives him balls that drag the ground, it can also be a weakness. "I can't do this" is quite close to "I can't do this alone", and therefore he has a hard time to ask for help.

When you read Zack Snyder's completed version of Justice League, it enraged me. Fire the decision makers who released Justice League.

Had never heard Romesh before this. Really enjoyed that. Whoever had the idea to include live comedy, good job. Really liking the new live format entirely.

Would have added:
The flashback of Cyborg to explain his backstory. Superman getting the suit from Alfred to add a sense of urgency and importance to their mission. The missing Aquaman scenes as well because his character was mostly eye candy and didn't have much exploration in this film.
The dialogue between Diana and Bruce after the Superman fight as that would provide much-needed character progression and explain why he's acting the way he is in the film. And it would explain his suicide mission during the batmobile scene.
Steppenwolf talking to the mother boxes because while he originally came to earth to get the boxes for Darkseid. In true villain fashion, He instead is going to use the power for himself. And when transported home, Darkseid kills him and then announces he wants to meet Superman himself, Thus setting up Justice League 2 as well as giving Steppenwolf a lot more depth as a character. He was such a shit villain and this would have made him a lot more interesting.
I would have used the idea of them resurrecting Superman first to avoid him being turned into a weapon as well. It would have made a lot more sense than they playing mad scientists in hopes of reviving him.
The Green Lantern post credit scene. I think the biggest insult here is the lack of Green Lantern, Just stupid teasers.
Would have cut:
The two stupid intro scenes of the movie and instead open with the funeral for Superman and how everyone is trying to move on after the fact.
The entire battle of Themyscira. Not only was it laughably bad but the CGI looked like garbage. It was a dumb and needless scene. They could have just announced it like the fire was lite and Diana see is and goes "Oh no...the fire, That means he has attacked my home and has the last mother box" and leave it at that. It was by far the worst looking scene of the entire movie...even more so than Superman's mustache removal.
I'm sick to death of the studios cutting movies to under two hours. I haven't watched it yet. I'm waiting for the extended edition. I did the same for BvS, and I'm glad I did. Warner Bros are a bunch of stupid assholes!

I love how they cut all those parts because I'm sure people wouldn't relate to the deep cuts in the Justice League. It reminds me of Japanese companies not translating games because they were told Americans wouldn't like JRPG's. These people are crazy!

Totally agree with Kevin about Supergirl--that and The Flash are the heart of the CW DC shows. I would love to see Kevin and Marc talk about the 4-show crossover though--it was even more awesome than last year's Invasion storyline. As to the Zach Snyder cut--think about the Extended Editions of the Lord of the Rings movies. All the stuff they cut from the theatrical release was added back in, in sequence, even though a lot of those scenes were a bit rough and they ended up totally changing the look for Gimli in the theatrical cut. Surely they could do something like that for all the Snyder material that was cut from Justice League.

WB has to figure out how to stop self-sabotaging their DC films, and hire more directors like Patty Jenkins and Christopher Nolan. They made Batman's and Wonder Woman's individual story, compelling to the general audience, while (mostly) satisfying the hardcore fans.

Kev keeps coming back to that scene where Aquaman bumps into Wonder Woman's lasso of truth and keeps crediting Joss Wedon for that. That same scene was in an issue of Justice League Volume 2 #4 except that it was Hal Jordan's Green Lantern that was touching the lasso by accident.
Vulgarr the Viking very true and a good scene in the movie. I'm not sure it's Zack's though. If my memory serves me, there's discrepancies in the dialogue of that scenario in the trailers. Also, it just looked like a Whedon scene and how he writes comedy. Zack writes it much more subtly, like Alfred's passive aggressive remarks about Bruce getting a date.

Batman had a way to take out Wonder Woman in the Waid run. The "Wonder Woman doesn't have a wekness" thing is from Johns New52 JL run: batman gets upset when Superman and Wonder Woman start dating, because his only plan to stop an out of control Wonder Woman was Superman.

A few seconds of Darkseid would have been nice but...the release schedule still shows Justice league 2 at the end, I don't think they were going to be back to back. Was it Geoff John's who made the changes, DC's big thing since rebirth happened where they release titles in a specific order to clean up continuity, and some of the changes feel like they're lining up with rebirth, seeing how Doomsday clock just dropped not too long ago, I would like to think that it looks like they might be gearing towards Doomsday clock. I gotta question the notion that execs made the crazy changes because all they care about was money...they sank more money doing reshoots because...increase profits? Maybe it's wishful thinking, but merging the main DC and Watchmen continuity is paying off big time, I'm hoping the crazy changes made are going in the rebirth direction. Dr. Manhattan vs everybody. I like Darkseid as much as the next fan, but he was the opening act in New 52, and his defeat by the Justice League got the attention of some powerful beings, leading to the events of Doomsday clock and Watchmen...and Wildstorm. They went over budget on this film...not really sure, but everyone crying about how many millions was spent on CGI deleting a mustache. None of the things that happened behind the scenes (reshoots and whatnot) point to some studio execs evil plan to make more money...by sinking more money into the movies...Spend more money...because I'm a greedy suit? Or maybe they're changing directions and these changes will pay off in later movies? If it's Geoff Johns, hes doing really well with the current content in the comics.
Man that Snyder cut sounds amazing!!! I know Snyder gets shit on for his portrayal of Batman and Superman in BvS, even though I understood it and didn't mind it because it made them both relatable during that time. But what we just heard on this podcast about the JL deleted scenes, it's pretty safe to say that WB robbed Snyder of total redemption. Judging from the description of the deleted scenes, it sounds like Zack Snyder actually listened to the fan criticism of BvS and had something really special. Dammit WB!!! Trust your creators!!! Just like how you trusted Patty Jenkins with Wonder Woman and it turned out pretty damn good. Trust James Wan with Aquaman because he has deserved that trust. Come on WB, you're making this harder then it should be
