Thank you for sharing this with us. Good stuff. I remember the movie Duel, but it has been a long time since I have seen it. Might have to check it out again. Good Lord, I couldn't tell you how many times I traveled Boquet Canyon Road on a KZ1000 motorcycle back in 1982. I was living in Mojave at the time, fresh out of high school, and met a girl who lived in Newhall. She was absolutely gorgeous and I went to visit her just about every weekend. it was a nice little ride. However, most guys riding through the canyon back then were the biker types riding Harley-Davidson. I was way out of my element on a Kawasaki, but hey- I had a girl to go see. Sadly, the gal ended up kicking me to the curb. I am sure she wound up meeting someone who had a little more on the ball than I did at 18. But she left me with a lot of good memories. From the looks of your video, not much has changed since 1971 or 1982. It's still a groovy place to travel if someone is wanting to get away from it all.

Elizabeth lake road and Goldie Road at that right hand turn where the road block was and at that time a vacant field before the cherry trees were planted
Most likely for filming, it was done on purpose. But in reality, I worked at a gas station in the late 80s, and customers would do that all the time. Instead of turning around, they would just stretch the hose.
The school bus 🚌 driver and his kids thought that guy in the Valiant was crazy. He got his car hung up on the bus’s bumper near a tunnel. The bus driver had to back the Valiant out with the guy on the hood. Then the big tank truck came and got the bus going again.
Most of the locations for this movie are difficult to find. TH-cam channel 80's Life, Kurt has the locations. I think he's the only one. Check out his video. But thanks for the request.
I use to watch this movie everytime it came on WABC,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but.......... this movie use to piss my dad off feeling that this movie was giving truck drivers a bad name, He to was a truck driver
No explanation of the car and truck turning right onto Godde Hill Rd. When the car was overheating. Uses part of the scenes twice going up the hill. Thanks
I did leave out a few locations. I was focused on the locations with the buildings and landmarks. I would have liked to do them all, but not enough time or money for gas. This is just my hobby. I don't get paid to do this, just something I enjoy. Thanks for watching.
@jokeroneninesevenzero Appreciate what you do. I was born there. Bottom of Godde Hill Rd. Nears the Almond orchards. My last name is Godde. That's why I'm interested. Gracias
@@MultiSweener the truck was never crashed--they used little models and a model of the hills--you can find pictures of the models online--the truck still exists
Actually, according to an interview with Steven Spielberg about the movie, that is the actual truck that goes over the cliff. You can find the interview on TH-cam.

Amazing how all the locations still look almost the same 53 years later.
Buildings will look different, but the mountains and hills will stay the same.

"So you said you do something a little bit odd. What is it you do again?" "I play meat." "What?" "You know meat." "That's sick man. That's sick."
Hi. In 1971, it wasn't called Santa Clarita. It was several small areas each with their own names..Saugus, Valencia, Canyon Country.
Yes. When I film in that area, I will give the exact city, but because I was all over the area I was just generalizing.
I loved that movie. True horror.😮
Elizabeth lake road and Goldie Road at that right hand turn where the road block was and at that time a vacant field before the cherry trees were planted
It always amazed me that David pulled into the gas station on the wrong side as the cars gas tank was furthest away from the pump

Отличное видео,душевное.Вроде бы недалеко от Лос Анджелеса находиться.
Thank you! Correct, it's in the county of Los Angeles. North of the city of Los Angeles.

I'm watching this while watching Chester on Gunsmoke at the same time.
anyway you can do a repo man location with the beginning with the desert scene when the cop opens the trunk?

Not sure. You probably could Google it and maybe find it on someone's TH-cam channel.

Is the truck even there crashed in the canyon ??
No, there is no truck at the bottom of the canyon. At least I don't think there is. I couldn't see over the cliff. That area is private property.
The crash site was thoroughly cleaned by the production crew.
@@MultiSweener Thanks for the research :
but what a job to pull off all these tons of iron.👍👍
@@tony9532 that's so correct. I've been on quite a few productions and some so large that the decon is monumental to say the least.

Road rage how truckers feel about four-wheelers😂
Sometimes!
alot of scenes were done with models--the scene going off the cliff was done all with little models and fake hills maybe 6ft high
