@@longdukdon5094 Indeed Bill is pretty chipper in April, when this video was posted. You oughta check out the August clips. Oh for the love of God, don't get within rifle range, he's so miserable!
I've owned two of these wonderful XJs, both 2008 models. They are fantastic and reliable automobiles. The only problem I ever had was the air shocks going bad on the front end of one of the two. I would recommend this model to anyone wanting comfort, luxury and decent fuel economy.
Ive had one for about 4 months now. I'm liking it more and more astime goes on. Such a great car. Not too heavy, feels like it's got more than 300hp even though rated at 294. Issues i have is the stock speakers are known to easily corode and connection goes bad causing them to fail. There are easy fixes to reroute the wires contact points. Another issue is these cars cannot have an audio head unit replacement, meaning getting bluetooth is only possible with spending quite a lot more. Air suspension goes put pretty quickly but if your purchasing now odds are the original owner already replaced them with spring suspension. Motor said to last up to 300k i bought mine with 95k.
@@hernandocortez6351 I had a 2003 S type with all the updates including sat nav as seen here. Fantastic car and a lot for your buck. Cruise at 100 all day if you wanted to. Never had any issues with cam belt. Never drank oil at all. Pretty sporty and I still like the look today. I had 165k miles on it before I sold her on. Great paint jobs on these btw. Much more micron depth of gelcoat too. It's a Jag, a touch of class in an understated way. What Bill says here is right on the money. I was born and bred in the City of Coventry so I know jags. Good luck!
Depends on model, but the hoods / Trunk lids were aluminium I believe for lightness. Gelcoat was usually 50 microns but Jags were commonly nearer 90 or 100 microns. But whatever, I'd buy another without hesitation if it had been looked after.
Because he's right. My dad bought a 74 big Mercedes with 280k on it in the 80's. For years and years, you'd just twist the key and it would purr to life and take you everywhere. That's past reputation. If you don't know why he says, Mercedes benefits, see Hoovie's garage. Many times...
I'm a big Jaguar fan, but this is an ill proportioned pastiche of the Series 12&3 and even the X300. The car is a lovely thing to drive though. Three cats on this video, one lage two small.
These older Jags are more streamlined and easier on the eye than the newer ones, the XJ6 4.2 was my all time favourite Jag and I was lucky enough to drive one of the first off the line many years ago, simply wonderful to slide into that almost "cockpit" like driving seat. The guy who owned it paid I believe about 400 GBP over the top in those days to get it early and it was well worth it. A good Jag has been looked after and serviced regularly and all the issues ironed out as they arise and will last for many years Thanks for another great review Bill..
I own the 2007 vanden plas. So far I replaced the air suspension w shocks, replaced a cracked coolant reservoir, a bad windshield wiper blade and a battery at 160,000 miles. Other than that it still drives like a mean machine.
My aunt has a 2002 XJ8 and it’s a fantastic road trip car. The build quality is amazing on those old Jags. The doors close with a very satisfying *click*..
I couldn't stop laughing Bill at around 36:38 or so when you said, " nice looking lady carrying a bag of shit." Knock out hillarious! Also, I like the fanciful bits (imaginative asides) you add to the car spotlights.
I recently picked up a 2004 Jaguar XJ8 and one of the reasons for the purchase was one Bill's previous videos on the XJ8s. Loved his description on the car and how it looks/drives/makes you feel when you drive it. I absolutely love my XJ8 and I daily the car. I'm up to date always on all the maintenance, so I've had only minor issues (like any other car). Great job on the video Bill. Keep them coming! You got a new sub.
Hey Bill, I am from Australia and just wanted to say that I really enjoy you in depth knowledge and storytelling. You really come up with a few cracking comments. All the best to you. 🙂👍
I am the proud owner of a 2004 XJR ,these are awesome machines, very reliable and fast,400 hp that can hang with the best and cheaper to maintain than my Dodge Charger rt.
I bought this exact car in 2012, loaded with the TV screens in the back and DVD in the trunk, same millage too, 106K. While I did spend as much in repairs as what I paid for the car, I actually improved the car and there's stuff that has to be replaced after 100K. At that point replace the air shocks. To me they are a 100K part and I had one explode on me. After 100K an occasional coil (coil over plugs) will fail, very minor issue. Mine had a very small electrical leak that never really got resolved. A rear door electric window went out, the ground wire connection failed. My mechanic repaired it in 15 minutes, didn't even charge me. Weaknesses: It has a 5 hose plastic coolant connector that gets hot and fails prematurely. It is located under the intake manifold and thus expensive to repair/replace. The electronic parking brake is operated with a motor, it has cheap nylon gears that strip and brake, they all do. It was a daily driver for me and it is a reliable car. I also made 7 trips to Chicago in it, 1,200 miles each. 30 miles/Gal., cruise set at 70. Never got tired on those trips, fantastic comfort and luxury. You can drive this car like a Cadillac or like a BMW 5 series (which I also owned, I prefer the Jag...a lot). The light weight makes it sporty, I was once in an ""Oh shit"" situation and had to make a very sharp turn at 65 M/hr. The tires squealed but the Jag stayed glued and certain feeling through the turn. I also had 19" wheels. When it came out performance figures were equal to BMW 745i which it competed with. It is a very long car, looks deceive, when sitting next to an F150 or Silverado pick-up truck it is almost the same length. The car has just a few cheap Ford appointments, the window buttons. Contrary to what Bill said, the engine is Jaguar designed but built by a Japanese custom engine manufacturer. I want this car back but it is not the right time for me. This car (up to 2008) is the last Jaguar that looks like a Jaguar, the new ones look like a Lexus 460 and BMW 7. You do get all the smiles and nods and ALL WOMEN LOVE THIS CAR, much more than a German car, they see the sexy lines. The car (to me) is a dream to drive.
Well said Paul, I've had mine for 2 years, its just beautiful!, I'm in love with it, absolutely nothing has gone wrong with it yet!! But I do take note of your comments on that subject and the dollars are tucked away for those eventualities and much more!, Love it that you compared to Beemers(BMW) and favoured the Jag! Me Too, Goodonya Mate as we "Ossees" say 👍👍
I have owned 8 Jaguar.. right now I have a 191k miles on my xj8 2004 running really good and gives me 30 miles per gallon even though I run 275 rear tires
I am looking into buying one for $3600 and it has 169000 miles on it. Based on your experience with high mileage on the xj8 is that reasonable or are the miles too high? They say it runs great.
@@blktoro2u try to stay at 3000 because I bought mine like u want to buy ur with 167000k miles and it broke down the first month of owning it and it was a nightmare to bring it back
@@blktoro2u I got my Jaguar with 167000 miles and currently has 223000 in 2 years of driving it.. it now runs better than ever and it still runs stupid strong… I tried to change into a xf because I have created the perfect xj8 but big mistake.. I hate the car I should just stick to a xj8
OMG, I've been saying that since the first time I saw that new model, they looks like a Kia with steroids. It doesn't have the same impact that used to be with previous models. With this model you receive good comments almost every single day about how nice the car is, but not with the new (Kia type) XJ models
I have a 1996 XJ 6 with the 4L straight 6 and it has been bulletproof, not even rust, zero issues, no oil leaks and just now replacing the original springs and shock absorbers after 25 years
I have a 2006 base XJ8 that used to belong to my mom, it has about 40,000 miles right now. For the air suspension I had to replace the front shocks, the originals were $1000.00 each so I got Arnott's that were half the price. I passed on doing the suspension conversion to non air suspension. This last summer I had to change the air compressor. Biggest problem or most costliest was the A/C drain getting clogged up and water leaking into the cabin. The dashboard had to be removed to clear the clog. A couple of years ago it had a tiny coolant leak that was difficult to find, turned out to be the intake manifold gasket went bad. The engine and transmission have never given any trouble. It's had some minor issues when it was under warranty such as a check engine light (not due to a loose gas cap) and the navigation system saying we were out driving on the ocean. A quirk of this car is that when the air compressor comes on at 30 MPH you feel the vibration, it works for a couple of minutes until it fills the system with air or it stops if you go under 30 MPH. I would recommend this car to anyone, just know that even with low miles the rubbers get old and some repairs will still be needed.
Priceless, wonderful, totally engaging dialogue from a man who knows his stuff . I’d take this jag , over ANYTHING else that was on the road , around it !! 50 times as much character, for a quarter of the price! Thanks again bill ; didn’t want it end :( !
I'm so glad you did this video. I had a VP (smug eh) and I loved that car. I tested the competition and bought the Jag. It was more fun to drive. I didn't want the equivalent dashboard technology of an F-111 fighter jet I just wanted a fun comfortable car to drive, and it sure was. Throwing that bad boy on a country road was a blast. Funny story. I was a young guy then, in the mid-30s. Anyway, my car was black with the rose or biscuit interior which I thought was striking. OK, my wife picked the color. Anyway, we went to dinner one night and valeted the car. When we came out I told the kid "the black Jag". The kid laughed at me. Apparently, a couple of people before us jokingly said it was theirs. Take that Mercedes-Benz!! Great car thanks for reviewing it.
Bill, in case you're still wondering, it was in the 30's today with snow flurries here in northeastern Pennsylvania. I would kill for temps in the 80's right now.
Bill, I just came across your channel. I own that, exact, same Jaguar; including the color. You're right, she still turns heads. She's got 223 000 miles on her, and, her "restricted performance" message light just came on a week ago. I've had her for 7 years. I've driven her to California and back twice. (I live in Chicago) She is truly a GRAND DAME out on the road. A guy in Vegas offered me 15 grand for her while driving through Nevada. I smiled with pride as I politely rejected his offer. I have had no problems with her, until now, during our 7 year relationship. Everything you've said about this Jaguar is so, much the truth. I even got a history lesson out of your video. You've got a new sub, Bill. My pride in my baby has only been enhanced by this video. I mean seeing my baby on your video was truly, a thing. Keep up the good work, Bill. Thanks for showcasing my baby. By her being British and all; I call her, Prudence. LOL. EDIT: Bill, she'll actually top out at about 200, and, 202 MPH. (We tested her on the "Flats" out in Utah on the way to California)
First thing I did when I acquired my 2004 Jaguar XJ8 it had 206,000 Miles on it. First thing I tackled was it had faulty suspension code coming up, "very common" but the suspension worked fine and the prior gentleman put one new air bag on the front but they weren't able to clear the code because the EMS module or whatever they're called was bad. But what I did was I just went all analog with it and bought a whole new suspension kit on eBay and got rid of all of the bags and they give you a little electronic box to bypass that signal and you will never have any problems with that suspension again, but of course now you have just one suspension ride there are no adjustments you can make or the car can make. But to be honest it has not taken away from the smooth cloudy ride you get with these cars. It still has a super sweet ride.....and you will never have to worry about any airbag failures in the future. This is a great car to keep long-term being it is all aluminum and will not rust on you. There is still brand new suspension parts they make if they ever go bad and there are a lot of these cars out there that are great parts cars that people dissect and sell anything and everything off these cars. These cars to me still had great personalities, the real Veneer Wood interior and different wood patterns on every one of them just gives them their own personality. A big percentage of these cars were put together by hand and not by machine. It's just something you do not see with today's car manufacturers. If it could be done by a machine it will be done by a machine.... they are absolutely future classics, without a doubt
This is by far the best car reviews on TH-cam!!! You are hilarious and I love that you match the cars with the proper firearm very Florida appropriate.
Last of the great styled big Jags. My favorites are the 3rd iteration of the 1st generation and this the 3rd Gen😍The XJ and S Class are in Their Own stratosphere of class segment I think.
Wow! I just bought an 04 XJR, 140K I absolutely love it.. Ive had to replace the valve cover gaskets and 2 coils so far. I believe I may have to replace the water pump. Its some coolant fluid occasionally under the car in the front engine area. And I believe it may be the sound of the bearings inside the water pump or possibly just a worn pulley. But all my levels look fine and no warning lights.. Outside of that the car drives good and its an amazing feeling step on the pedal and open her up, on the highway.. Any suggestions on the issues I stated. Oh also Im having a few electrical gremlins, the front dome lights and vanity mirrors don't work. Rear top break light only seems to work when its extremely cold.. Also I plan to possibly convert the air suspension. Front shocks work sometimes. And my adaptive cruise light is on says its not functioning.. I want to get the car to tip top shape, as much as possible. I knew it wasn't going to perfect. And it was sitting for awhile.. But so far I absolutely love the car. This is my first Jag. Any information that you so kindly could give me. Would be appreciated it. Thanks in advance.
Best auto reviewer out there . . . and hilarious! True there is not many reviews on these Jag's so thanks for sharing. Of course gun storage, children in the trunk and driving behind septic trucks is very important commentary as well.
In 10-15 years time, when *these* are the “classic cars” of the modern age, I may just have to pick one up. Very neat. Another good one, Bill. Thank you as always.
34:05 Surprised the shitty-looking cup holders didn’t elicit a comment from Bill, who rarely passes up the chance to say something uplifting and positive about Dalton and his detailing talents. 😂
Bill, thanks for the priceless commentary. As a Canuck I find your constant references to accommodating cheap Canadians in the backseat absolutely hilarious. In addition, I much enjoyed your spot on a third generation Prelude. Mine is a '91, 420k, but it is standard and the body has been maintained, its the best I can do.
Have followed your quirky u tubes for about a year and as a Brit, I find your reports a breath of fresh air and will be in contact with you when the Easter Holiday is over,as I am in the market for this era of LHD V8 Jaguar
As the owner of an XJ8 4.2, an XJ6 1988 vintage, a 1995 XJ12, and a 1995 XJS 6.0 V12 I can say they are quite reliable. Like any car, there are areas of concern and little maintenance things you need to know., such as you must use "jiggle pin" thermostats in the V12s. I have driven all of them on long road trips. Amazingly, my XJ40 (`88 XJ6) was extremely reliable. I am impressed with your knowledge of Jaguar and other marques. Like you, I am disgusted by the styling of current Jaguar saloons, and I loath the Maytag dryer knob shift controls.
This is the last beautiful Jaguar. EVERYTHING after this is, umm, generic. The magazine critics were TOTALLY wrong at the time concerning its styling. Jaguar and its string pullers should've stuck with this traditional 3 box shape with round lighting. Of course, and sadly, a SUV was needed. This car should've continued on with an eye toward pure luxury, refinement, and reliability. Reliability really is the Achilles heel concerning Jaguar.
I’m glad you did a video on these, I am NOT a fan of most British cars having worked at a shop that specializes in them. The two exceptions (well maybe 2½) are this Jag and the 2 door convertible of the same vintage. Very well made with as you said much more personality than what the Axis were producing. Funny you mentioned it, the only expensive issue that was commonplace were on those models equipped with air ride suspension, there is a aftermarket coil over swap kit but it does ruin the ride and carrying 5 people once you had put it in was a thing of the past unless you like sparks with your driveways.
i drive one with the arnott coil kit, and it is extremely smooth. never drove one with air ride, but i am pretty sure the arnott kit replicates the air suspension feel
I always love listening to this guy. He watches car history that which is haute couture is to fashion. And his personality/character is the same as the persnickety types that do fashion reviews, just on another subject in our epicurian pleonasm. Also I lived in Sarasota for a while and these outdoor bits (all I've seen are the same setting), remind me of every single normal morning there. FWIW, I am not the same kind of person he (this narrator) is, and don't even really like hanging with this sort of guy. In addition, he would likely dislike my character far more! *unless he was needing rescue* But its sooo wonderful that he says ANYTHING he feels in the moment. 99% of men filter this, and its so important when picking through the relevant details. This is not the perspective of engineers debugging the steering, brakes, or whatever. Its actually a SKILL to be able to take it all in as a whole. That said, sometimes I just want a good look at stuff, on a nice clean example. So yeah, I skip all the opening. Or maybe I am returning to the video for the 3rd time for that. So don't take it as a failure that the video is peaky within viewing. On this car, I am hearing this model was (you say, the "last jaguar I still like") a compromise and badge engineering at the chassis level. The prior model was the X300 chassis, the last pure Jaguar technically. Not really sure whether this makes it worse than a 2002, but after this series, ending 08ish, jaguar was gone. Agree on value. This is supply demand. The car (and X300 before) was a strong value at the 80k price. The average buyer was 80% male with an average age of 63! So most were not ever driven at the average level, were garaged, and perfectly serviced. 90% were mint coming from 1st owner. A minority today are ragged, and just now good for some parts. Note on Vanden Plas (and others).. these were (with intro year exception) offered in two wheelbase lengths. Vanden Plas was another way to say, long wheelbase. The extra length of 4-6 inches is simply added to rear seat legroom, and longer rear doors. Separately, the long wheelbase adds an "L" to the base model, but without interior changes. About 3/4 of the "Daimler" builds are long wheelbase. Sorta like a short limo for UK, Tony Blair is said to have preferred this car.
I hit the thumbs up for this video. I enjoyed pointing out how good and reliable Jaguars had become by the year of this one to a guy who had 2 Mercedes cars back in the 80's that were the opposite and got him stranded too many times until he bought Lexes starting in 1997. And that was even though he ended up saying that to even consider owning a Jag was nothing short of madness and I didn't hear anything from him after sharing how well proven these X350s and S-Types and XK8s have turned out to be. Besides, I did go along with him by telling him that these Jags proved 2nd only to Lexes, his choice of make, in reliability. I also recently had someone tell me that that V8 itself was designed by Jaguar in Coventry before Ford sold the plant and that in the 1970s-80's Jaguar used more parts from general motors, most obvious being GM's automatics being hooked up to Jag's V-12s, more than what the X350 generation and XK8s used from Ford and that the X-Type and S-Type were still more Ford. Well I wouldn't have anything other than Chevy or GMC for trucks, anyway.
Bill, you have forgotten to mention the glovebox is squared in shape, and so perfect for ammostrips/magazines for all the guns you can "hide" in your Jaguar ;-).
X350 is the most underrated xj of them all. take in down a twisty road it handles better than a Subaru biggest problem with them are bushes you'll get 34 mpg UK on long run from the v8
These were great cars in their own right, however, did lose a bit of the "special" feel of the prior chassis. WAAAY more reliable than a similar year 7 series, but that's not a hard one to beat. Love the channel, grew up in the car business, and could tell you're a real "car guy", unlike most of the dealers you run into these days.
Lovely car, great video, never really thought of owning a Jaguar 🐆 heard bad things about reliability but you have convinced me to look into an XJ8 for my next car.
The key didn't work and had to drill through the back seat arm rest with a pole with a hook to pull the red emergency cord and replacing tires one lug wouldn't come off had to use a torch it off and took a while finding a new one
My neighbor bought one of these a couple years ago, gorgeous car but it was broken down within a few months of him purchasing it... I don't know what the issue was but it must've been something expensive because he got rid of it rather than fixing it. Nice driving cars though, I worked for a Hertz location in Hawaii that rented them when they were brand new and I always liked shuttling them around. Great interior, smooth ride and a nice punchy V8 engine. I'd drive one if I had the spare money to maintain it.
my mother had an old XJS (before ford - the 5.3 v12s). We were cheap people - she bought it used, drove it for a while and moved on. When ford bought jaguar, the cars probably improved, but they just started to look like any other car. XJS has a fantastic ability to drain the battery if it wasn't being driven every day, as well as a real talent for making an enormous amount of heat under the hood. More heat than power - transmission was crap, too. But it felt as solid as riding in a tank.
Great review. I love my 2006 XJ Vanden Plas, and the one before it, but had to have the air ride suspension replaced with standard suspension on both. It wouldn't even raise the car up in severe cold weather. Otherwise, I enjoy every minute of it!
Hi Bill, from your buddy Mark in Canada, love your video's, stories & respect for wildlife. I own a 98 base XJ8, sapphire blue exterior with cream interior. Just turned over 370,000 Klm. Yes, you nailed it with your opinion of these vehicles. I have been very fortunate as for reliability and maintenance. Would recommend you do use J gate in manual mode sometime, really adds a sporty feel. I personally think the gear box in this vehicle is its best attribute. If you would be interested in my Jag, you can have it out the door for $18,000 USD, Ha Ha.
Bill, here in Detroit it's 2 weeks of sun temps low 40s to upper 50s.Beautiful XJ i agree last of the real Jags. Most here sit on the ground air suspension issues.
I own one of these and it is my daily driver. My experience after 210.000 Km is that properly maintained, this Jaguar is the most reliable car I have ever owned. When it comes to cost of ownership, it is definitely more expensive than that of a Toyota, but it is still pretty reasonable. I also have read many horror stories about the air suspension. Mine has never failed and offers such balance and stability that is worth the cost of fixing it if eventually breaks.
@@danielaaron2060 When driving you should not hear any noise from the suspension. If you do, chances are that the compressor is beginning to wear out. Something that ends up happening with time, but fortunately new compressors are not that expensive.
Oh yeah, supercharged.. nearly 400 horsepower. Not hard at all to get 500+ out of them with a simple pulley, tune, maybe minor bolt-ons (CAI especially)
"JagYOUuh" if you want to sound pompass. I had an '05 XJ8L - I miss it terribly. Comfortable, quiet, surprisingly quick and fuel efficient. 80k mostly trouble free miles. Had the suspension air compressor replaced under warranty, a thermostat, and the bleed return line on the coolant reservoir will fatigue, crack and start to leak every 70k or so. '06 got ventilated seats and double pane windows for extra quietness. I would have another one in a minute. The air compressors tend to have a higher failure rate in colder climates. All of the aluminum XJ8s have the 4.2 V8 and 6 speed auto. The 4.2 is a solid unit. Don't buy anything with the 4.0 V8, early ones have Nikisil plated cylinders. The plating is eaten by the high sulfur fuels available in the US leading to excessive blowby and low compression. The 4,0 got iron liners in '01 or '02 but they have weak timing chains and tensioners which lead to bent valves if you are lucky and a destroyed engine if you aren't. The 4.0 inline 6 is essentially bomb proof.
You've got me looking at these cars again. I nearly bought one several years ago, but waiting on some money owed me was, as usual, too long, and that cat got away. There's something about Jaguars, that, when driving one, there's always this perfect moment, something truly sublime. The paranoia over the birds and cats and goats will be a great buildup for the time when an alligator comes and eats the cats in the background while you're filming...
Always love your videos. I learn so much. I had a 2005 XJ8L and put, oh well over 300,000 miles on it, only routine maintenance. The only thing I hated, it was computer limited at 128 miles per hour. Oh, what a wonderful car. Keep up the most excellent work!!!
Excellent car analysis! I agree, Jaguars are more elegant cars compared to Mercedes Benz and BMW, mostly after the of the 1970s! Also agree totally, this model showed by you is the last real Jag!
I had a 2004 XJ fantastic use car value ! I bought mine from a Jaguar dealer treated me like I was a new car purchas!!! I would stick witth the 2004 t0 2008 Jaguars best of the breed. You can't beat the Supercharged verison !

To me, this is one of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever witnessed. I could stare at it for hours
Agree. Can't stop looking at my 07 XJ6.
Very costly to maintain
@@edwardluth7740 oh ya I bet. That’s why I will look but never buy lol
I'm a big Jaguar fan, but this is an ill proportioned pastiche of the Series 12&3 and even the X300. The car is a lovely thing to drive though. Three cats on this video, one lage two small.
Xj8 and the s type looks good because, it was built under Ford in the early 2000s.
Wife: 45 minutes? Why is it 45 minutes, Bill said he was going to tighten things up!
Bill: The etymology of the word Jaguar...
It’s nice how you incorporate reliability. That’s an important area of consideration that other reviewers barely talk about.
Other than that it still drives like a mean machine.
does it ride just as smooth as the factory air suspension?
My boy Billy back at it with another videooo! These vids always make my day better.
My aunt has a 2002 XJ8 and it’s a fantastic road trip car. The build quality is amazing on those old Jags. The doors close with a very satisfying *click*..
Something about these cars. Never owned one, but such a looker like most everything from Jag.
Got the same, in Australia. Bloody great cars!
Is it good on gas?
@@thenerdsquad5828 It actually is and it has a 23 gallon fuel tank
Nice to hear they are reliable. Didn’t know that until this video. How many miles you have?
@@Mabeylater293 She just turned 55k,still going strong
Weaknesses:
It has a 5 hose plastic coolant connector that gets hot and fails prematurely.

I like this car Paul but I am scared to buy it
I have owned 8 Jaguar.. right now I have a 191k miles on my xj8 2004 running really good and gives me 30 miles per gallon even though I run 275 rear tires
I am looking into buying one for $3600 and it has 169000 miles on it. Based on your experience with high mileage on the xj8 is that reasonable or are the miles too high? They say it runs great.

Spot on assessment of these XJ's... the last of the graceful, unique cats. The successor model looks like a warmed-over KIA.
I used to own this car. Fell in love with it. Had it for 7 yrs and sold it when it reached 220k miles. Looking to buy another
I'm so glad you did this video.
I've watched your videos , I like your natural take on the audition of cars absolutely great thank you❤
Bill, in case you're still wondering, it was in the 30's today with snow flurries here in northeastern Pennsylvania. I would kill for temps in the 80's right now.
Didn't realize they were still making episodes of Wild Kingdom. Mutual of Omaha has really stepped up their game.
If you look closely you can see Marlin Perkins watching from the comfort of his Land Rover as Jim wrestles a croc.
Best line of the video "baby seat anchors in case God forbid, you wanted a baby". Love these videos.
Bill's like the mad uncle I always wanted.
I very much appreciate how much you appreciate these cars and the deep knowledge and history you share.
This car can go 206,000 miles.???

I'd say this is the best review of this car I've seen. Thank you Bill! I just bought one of these
My 2004 X350 XJR has 256,000 miles on it. They’re certainly decent and reliable cars.

Nice Jag. Pretty clean
Have followed your quirky u tubes for about a year and as a Brit, I find your reports a breath of fresh air and will be in contact with you when the Easter Holiday is over,as I am in the market for this era of LHD V8 Jaguar
Will always love your first. Mine was an XJS. (Adore) and love this one too.
I always wanted this generation of Jag.
Have had a 2004 XJR since new and it has been the best car I have ever owned. 162,000 km and still smooth and fast. Pure pleasure to drive every day.
Man the birds were really vocal in this one!
Old stock was the best for the JAG!
Good review. I owned one about 10 years ago. It was a nice car but the air ride suspension is expensive to fix
They all eventually go bad, but you can replace with traditional shocks and springs.
@@lobsterwhisperer7932 does replacing air shocks with traditional shock change the comfort and handling of the car?
I agree this would make an amazing daily driver! I should start saving and keeping an eye out for one.

I had one exactly like this one and only thing I had was I couldn't open the trunk to replace the battery even the 2:45
The key didn't work and had to drill through the back seat arm rest with a pole with a hook to pull the red emergency cord and replacing tires one lug wouldn't come off had to use a torch it off and took a while finding a new one
Thanks Bill, as always informative entertaining and a great way to waste 40 minutes at work....keep em coming! Thank you
Great review.
Love that Randell Handle (the J gate nicknamed after the bloke that designed it)I use mine all the time!

Brilliant as always. Humor and facts combined in a crescendo of brilliance.
Does the air suspension make a noise when driving to regulate itself? Or should I get mine looked at?
@@danielaaron2060 When driving you should not hear any noise from the suspension. If you do, chances are that the compressor is beginning to wear out. Something that ends up happening with time, but fortunately new compressors are not that expensive.
hey, any updates on the jag?
The last proper old school elegant XJ. The Mercedes and BMW were ugly in comparison. If you prefer understated class this is the car to buy.
Bill, your reviews are the best and your rants are hilarious. Great channel.
My favorite Jagwire of all time was the 1998 XJR ... that was one hell of an automobile!
Oh yeah, supercharged.. nearly 400 horsepower. Not hard at all to get 500+ out of them with a simple pulley, tune, maybe minor bolt-ons (CAI especially)
Love all your opinions but this one stands out as great. Keep it up Bill.
A nice review of a great car, love to drive it already for many years.
Bill, all that Kitty in one video. You lucky 🐕 Dawg!
Bill, what is The wach are you wearing?
Always love your videos. I learn so much. I had a 2005 XJ8L and put, oh well over 300,000 miles on it, only routine maintenance. The only thing I hated, it was computer limited at 128 miles per hour. Oh, what a wonderful car. Keep up the most excellent work!!!
Oh, at 70 mph, it gets 28 MPG !!!
My brother had 04 XJR. Had her up to 140 mph with ease.
300,000 miles, ???
@@dennynisevic7848 The headliner was shot and the sunroof had some issues, that was about it.
Beautiful Jag, the cats are looking good too, and the terridactle sounds menacing!! Monocock, hmmm 🙄
Is that not the pronunciation of monocoque
The little tables are narcotic trays.......Bill
Excellent car analysis!
I agree, Jaguars are more elegant cars compared to Mercedes Benz and BMW, mostly after the of the 1970s!
Also agree totally, this model showed by you is the last real Jag!
I’m considering purchasing a white one with just over 100k miles. Perfect shape. Owner offered it to me for 5,000.00. Should I pull the trigger?
Casual handgun storage references always crack me up!
An older video actually shows a walther in the glove box
You are the best Bill!!! I remember a z8 roadster you did a couple years ago! Please keep em coming!!👍
