$100 for a piece of paper is crazy
You want to make sure you thoroughly test the games as well. Especially the Gamecube stuff that has been resurfaced. Some of it will boot to the start menu, and even a little into the games, but then get disc read errors. I ordered 3 GC games from them personally (Mario Kart Double Dash, Twilight Princess, and Zelda Collector's Edition) and had problems with all 3 of my games. Double Dash didn't work at all. Twilight princess booted past the start menu and into the game but always crashed during the tutorial, and they flat out sent me the wrong game for Zelda CE. Their retro program is a complete joke. But you should be able to easily get those stickers off of the case arts. I got that on two of them and the came off no problem.
You say “scammed” even though you said youre planning on returning those games. How is it getting scammed if you’re getting free content out of this.
It got you to click right? Mission Accomplished and I still got snubbed some money. Due to taking advantage of the deal.
By now everyone knows what to expect from GameStop. So either you take the risks or not. It's just hit or miss with them. I've gotten really lucky with them and sometimes not, so I don't mind it since I already know what I'm in for. Of course we all wish that they could be 100 percent better but it is what it is.

While I find videos like these entertaining it does state on there site your not guaranteed Art work or Case or Manuel.. so you do buy at your own risk.

Yeah but it's not a scam, also those prices are almost loose prices, hell the Def Jam is much lower than a typical loose price on ebay. Plus I can see you being type of person that will just keep the cover art and probably replace the games with your shittier ones.

This is way too common for gamestop even with modern games your lucky if you get original packaging for the games. So frustrating
Atleast the return policy is real forgiving. Just they listed condion on the website.
wouldn't say unusable, not after a trip to the resurfacing machine. And its WHY people buy the sports or other cheap games to swap the cases to nicer games. You can do this from garage sales or thrift stores. And usually they'll let you have or buy the case for cheap. In mine they will toss the cases of used games or movies that don't contain the disc into a wastebasket near where they put them on shelfs so they can be found there too.
Then again mine is lazy and WILL let OBVIOUS bootleg movies or cds (i'm talking so easily bootleg its just handwritten on a cd-r or dvd-r in a case, and/or with said movie's poorly made reproduction artwork too.
I do get some finds and its cheap though (same price for bootleg or legit 2 for 99c or 2.99 for blu ray or 4k blu ray) I pretty much never buy bootleg though (unless its something rare for a real copy as a bootleg)
And the reason gamestop does that is DVD or PS2 cases are simply CHEAP. as far as the label on actual artwork that's just a old bad and probably still persisting to this day gamestop habbit.
And why pay FULL Price for the game to JUST get artwork when you could buy the artwork off ebay or amazon for cheaper?
and it seems gamestop is doing the cheap method to get cases when they don't have one. Maybe they saw it on youtube or reddit
All you can do about gamestop practices is call or e-mail and complain about it. Otherwise its a price you may have to pay to get the game

I understand your frustration. I once paid $40 for a used PS3 copy of "Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus" and it did not come with the box art. The GameStop website even said it was "like new". That was the last time I ever bought something from GameStop. I ended up buying the box cover art from a seller at Etsy.
So I just got NFL Street 2. I got 0 official cases from the 7 games I got. GameStop fascinates me truly.
Atleast you got games that work I ordered 5/6 games 3 of them work 2 came with game art and manual but one was scratched to hell 2 more in normal cases scratched to hell 😢

I did got my money back. I rolled a 0 out of 7. GG next time. GameStop is a company I am fascinated by. 😅
