Really sad that it's come to this. VW's used to be all sticks. People like me loved them for their visceral, analog, basic feel. Call me old school, but they've lost their identity, sadly.
Still not even a real volume knob...let alone all of the phony "haptic-feel" buttons, knobs, and sliders that do not actually function. I can't imagine how much VW will charge for replacing bad haptic buttons, knobs and sliders... along with the absurd prices they now charge even for an "S" model. BTW, that is not an SE. The last time I checked both the SE and Autobahn have leather seats... not cloth seats. That is, unless they cannot even give their buyers leather for the "SE" 380 model. Don't really know why anyone would want a manual GTI or R any longer considering the excellent DSG trans with paddle shifters... even Ferrari and Lamborghini have dropped manual trans. DSG gets better gas mileage too. But to each their own.
@@donjohnson2428 And I hear you... but I just think the VW DSG trans is so good, the paddle shifters so fun when wanting manual (or rather pseudo-manual), and no longer wanting to be exercising my left leg in heavy traffic then I've had enough. Aside from my Mk7, I drove a friend's Lambo with paddle shifters and it was a blast. If VW put straight DSG trans (no manual mode) then I would choose the manual all day long. But with the DSG and paddles, plus my extensive driving in bad traffic, I have to go with the 7-speed DSG. Mine is a blast! Like I said... to each their own, friend!
Ok...I stand corrected. Must be yet another Mk8 weirdness... weird, compared to previous generations! Also, I was told by a local VW/Audi/Porsche dealer that the Mk8 SE ONLY comes with leather... as does the Autobahn. So, his bad, as well as mine! 😛@@johnyacoub69
@donjohnson2428 Me too! Plus this is the last year of the manual gti & r. They are going to be collector's items no matter the mileage, because almost everybody owns an automatic with paddle shifters😂
This is the final year for the manual transmission on the GTI. Get one before they are gone!

Actually just purchased a 380 😍
Going to get one on friday
Nice video, best regards from Brazil 🇧🇷
Great walkthrough!
Thank you!
Nice detailed review. Are you selling these GTI's at retail or above?
No markups!
I have had 2 GTI's and i loved them....but 40k?
And it's not even the top trim 💀
only they only bringing in black 380s I cant find any near me that arent black
Not sure why they are doing it that way, but you are correct.
How would ACC even work with M/T?
It does. Highway speeds it does work, just WITHOUT "Stop and Go".
The car has 241 hp there buddy 😂
Hopefully you gave the buyer some gas

I’ll take a third pedal over paddle shifters every single time.

Then check again, because you’re incorrect. Cloth is standard on SE, leather is optional.
