Nice to hear it's on Android. Have it for my ipad and it's clear it's designed for a phone/vertical orientation
Koala Sampler, as an Australian, how DARE you use our cuddly national bear for the name of your sampler! Nah, just kidding, Koala sampler is pretty good (I have it on my iPad).
koalas are marsupials not bears🤦
@@Thunder_Nightshadow No kidding
Koala sampler
Koalas are not sloths? I thought sloth s are just lazier pandas lol
Using koala for a few years. So fire. Love my iPad for music, honestly skip every hardware lately because I keep finding things I can do, making full albums on my iPad, is fire.
Hey can you send me one of those music's if you still have 'em?
Nice video! I like your aproaching towards yt shorts!
My 8 year old & I have a lot of fun grabbing samples with the phone mic and making beats with just the sounds around us
Nice!
Awesome enough for me to subscribe instantly
Wow, looks great !
And it works with midi, I use my launchpad mini with a otg usb hub.
Yo Jason can you detail your Koala/MIDI workflow a bit more? Are you using your launchpad just as an alternative way to trigger the samples already laid out in the Koala grid pad interface? Or have you found away to actually sidecar an instrument bank and play melodies and record them into Koala? I've spent hours trying to figure out both using my Akai mini direct in to my android w/OTG, any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks man! 🙏🏻🥁🤳🎹
wow it's costs money what a surprise
Oh no, a developer wants to get paid a very reasonable amount for a high quality product!
@@GabeMillerMusic why is it better as the cubase app?
Sweet New subscriber! 👍🏼💪🏼
Thanks, I have been thinking of getting something like this. I will check this one out.
Would love to see more on Android apps
For Androod, I am partial to Caustic. It is a little older, but it is good.
This is the best for sure
That’s interesting. I actually have this plug-in on iOS. It can be used in GarageBand and n track iPhone.
Is this available for android like a normal android phone by any chance??
What is the name of the app?
Fl studio mobile : 🗿
Yeah but problem is that it's expensive
And yeah Fl studio best
Better than Caustic?
If only Caustic was still supported. Maybe a combination of some loop prep on Caustic and then this as a possible workflow. Hmmm may have to do some playing around.
I actually did that in my previous video on Koala! It's a good hybrid approach that takes advantage of Koala's workflow and Caustic's synth engines
How much does it cost? I'll buy it eventually 😮😊
Bandlab: 👁👄👁
App?
Name a app ?
There is HEXEN Modular
All of the income will help Koala conservatory in australia
Love Koala Sampler... have naive Q, not sure if anyone ran into it... with smartphones doing away with 3.5 audio jack, I've been trying to find way to rig up a midi keyboard and an audio out for an Android device. Has anyone tried and succeeded with this? for example, Ive hooked up launchpad x as midi controller to my Samsung note10, or routed USBC to 3.5m jack... but I haven't found a way to do both 🥺🥺🥺. Gabe, I'd you came across anything, would love to hear it! there are so many interesting tools to pack into a smart phones, just wish this was simpler to integrate with the rest of my workflow!
Hmmm... I've frankensteined a few android/midi rigs, can you clarify what your ideal setup would do? What hardware(phone model/controller/adapters/dongles) and software (OS/apps) are in front of you?
@@AwkwardIntelligence sorted it out by using a USBC hub to connect to phone; connected midi controllers via USB and connected audio via USB to 3.5mm adapter
Can we use it to.create song's
Why it is paid
Fl studio??
Heck yes I've been using it for a while. It's the SP-404mkii we get until 2076 when Roland gets them shipped to people lol but seriously, with this and Caustic 3 i kinda regret buying all my music gear like MC-101 and VSTs really, but really the apps make the inspiration for me. Maybe the solution is less DAWless and more...tiny DAWs?
Fair enough!
Would you believe I can't find my song/file after I save it 🤔😂 I'm on Android.. any help?
Go to ur files app
App name
Ok
Is this free ? Or paid?
no sheet music tf
Me who's watching bc I have to make a song in order to get signed
Hard to take you seriously with a claim like that.
Can please do a full tutorial on koala
I've done a couple of longer walkthroughs that you might find helpful, but yeah an in depth tutorial at some point is a good idea!
Is IT free
Get an affiliate link bro lol
Tell
I love koala sampler on my ipad, but it seemed to have such terrible latency on my android phone last time I used it. Have they fixed that? Or do I just need a new phone.....
It depends on the phone/manufacturer. It's okay on my phone, a OnePlus 6, but your mileage may vary.
@@GabeMillerMusic Yea, could be that my phone is too old. I'll try it out again. But I agree with you about how great this app is! It's constantly being used on my ipad.
@@boxed-sound Yeah android latency is hit and miss - it might be worth turning off OpenSL in koala's audio settings to see if that helps, but many android phones just have rubbish audio drivers, and there's unfortunately nothing koala can do to make that situation better. :(
Really? Loopy Pro??
If you are looking for a free app like me then dont bother searching for it, its not free.
It cost money and im broke 😢😢😢 😢😢
No it's band lab
Bandlab is shit
No it's koala
Best? What about Caustic?
It's also excellent, but from what I can tell, it's not really supported anymore, so it's a bit harder to recommend than it used to be. Plus, even though Koala doesn't have as many features, I think its interface is a lot better (more intuitive and better set up for a phone screen).
@@GabeMillerMusic Caustic is being supported still but it's like on the author's free time, i forgot what his job is but he's really busy.
Caustic is AMAZING but the updates are glacial, also this is for people who want to make lo-fi style music or other music that samplers are good at making. Caustic can do that stuff but you'll never really get the live playing unless you midi up a pad controller and chopping and sampling in Caustic isn't as intuitive at this. Gabe got it right, this is literally supposed to be a little virtual SP-404
@@GabeMillerMusic and how would you compare it with Band lab, is it better?
Caustic is starting to show its age a little bit... Koala is really intuitive as a sampler with effects. Caustic is still probably the best daw and easier to build a full track out of it, but the midi latency on instruments is worse.
Bro it costs 5 bucks
iOS is the way to go though
For rich people yes
@@jinxh nope.second hand iPhone 6 or 7 for almost nothing
App name?

Hey Gabe, just sub'd! Fellow Koala fanatic. Quick question- "You can export those individual tracks to work with in your DAW"... you mean I can export stems!? Like say my drums (choke 1 bank) and my sample chops (choke 2 bank) as 2 isolated split tracks? PLEASE confirm/clarify, this would be a game changer. Thanks man! 🤯🙏🏻
You have less control than that, it literally exports each individual track (one track per sound). However, if you're using mute groups for sample chops for instance, you can easily group all the sample chop tracks together in your DAW and it should all just work.
@@GabeMillerMusic Gabe thanks so much for taking the time to reply man, you made a new fan. If I'm understanding you correctly, Koala's export options allow you to export each pad as a batch of individual tracks, but there is no way to, say, record a performance and export it as stems (i.e. drums track, and triggered samples together as played in real time during performance on a separate track)? Thanks again so much for your thorough insight on this channel. 🙏🏻
Sir please can i know name of your microphone
It's the Shure M7
