why cant modding just be simple and easy to understand!?!?!? Update: I've kinda figured out how to mod elder scrolls oblivion but I literally don't know how to mod cyberpunk and for some reason MO2 is being finicky with Skyrim I'm trying to trouble shoot in the community. Don't know how I managed to figure out Oblivion modding because people will tell you that is harder than Skyrim.

All of these guides would be better if they just showed a snapshot of what the folder structure should look like before and after. THis would let people know they have placed/extracted the data into the correct place.

Vortex doesn't put files in the correct location, you really need to double check that it has or just not use it which seems like most people are starting to do. I do really like the easy access with Vortex, but it's caused more problems than anything else. Also, if you could explain deploying mods, that is confusing to a lot of people. REDmod and Vortex both have a Deploy but when manually installing there is no deploying, is that correct? I'm not sure.. Manual downloading takes the longest but is the safest from my experience.
What exactly is the difference between REDmod and Vortex? Do I need both? You don't do any comparative discussion of the two and if they are both required and or if one is preferred over the other.

its so funny that i still havent managed to get this shit working for 4 hours of trial and error, and i dont mean the mods conflict, I made sure they dont by checking other peoples modpacks, but yet they just dont load, even after i do the same thing he did I am on the steam version tho, on the newest version with phantom liberty which may be my issue
I've installed mods manually from vortex played for 9 hours last night perfectly... installed more mods today manually... game crashes the second I load in... downloaded Vortex mod manager and downloaded them again via that still crashes the second I load into the map... im currently reinstalling the game no idea if I have to re-do vortex mod manager again?... not sure what I've done wrong what mod has potentially been put in the wrong place or is causing the crash... Is there a trouble shoot option? I verified my files via steam all checks out. Just completely lost with it at the moment just wanna jump in and carry on enjoying this awesome game.
might be some of the mods you are using are clashing, I know with skyrim mods, the order of the mods matters so that's maybe something too look into also but more than likely two of your mods are similar and may be clashing with each other
A little late but i just figiured it out since im on gog too go to the cp2077 folder and right click red launcher and run as adminstrator it'll boot it up

Dude, where exactly DID you install the mod? You just pasted it in the mod folder. Where is the installation via command line? To actually install it, you might want to add the Vortex addins: "REDLauncher" and "REDmod Deploy Latest Load Order". With those added to Vortex, you don't need to actually use the command line manually.
i just installed redmod but im not sure if installed is the right word. none of the mods work or even a ui showing redmods is running. it is all very confusing.I was really hoping to try the flying cars mod but seems redmod is doa.

Redmod is a patch/dlc that give u the same purpose of vortex (for moduser only), and i think there is but i didnt find a way to use vortex and redmod together but now the simple way is choosing one of them. If u want to use redmod download and put manually mod into the right folder (check in internet the right folder its simple) but u have to use mod that are compatible or u will get lucky / OR u use only mod with vortex and do the classic way but because mod begin to have red mod compatibility u have to be cautious and take the non redmod mod. But to be fair i tryed to do all of this the redmod way and that was a nightmare so i just gived up because i tryed to use vortex to put the mod in the folder of redmod without success and to lazy to donwload all the mod mannualy

I don't want to have to have to manually select files and delete them and also keep a folder of the original files to overwrite the mod if I decide I dont like the mod. It's just too much of an ask for me.
If you install mods from vortex, you don't have to launch from vortex so long as you have enabled the mods in vortex. I launch directly from steam and never through vortex all my mods are still loaded
Dont think you should have an r6 folder in mods folder but i have just started modding this game. Most files ive seen so far have always had r6 files in the main directory. LMK why you have that there, you might be confusing people for no reason.
Every minute of d I go on needs. About 8 script mod need to run it like bro I JSUT want a pair of tactical boots the koenigsegg and online clothing store is so bad for it
It's not that complicated. It's mostly 3-4 steps for one mod to install and the same for mods or other stuff that is needed for it to work. Especially nexus is easy since before you download the actual mod it shows you a list of all mods you need, open em in tabs and install them all manually or via vortex. Getting into it is hard and backing stuff up is the most important thing. But once you figure it out, it's easy. Skyrim is still the easiest to mod but cyberpunk isn't that bad. Arasaka cyber arms is a bit complicated due to so many options. But the instructions are easy to understand.

REDMOD should show all the mods as they are loaded in, so users can see which ones are causing conflicts.
