@Leon Todd after your multiple videos on this unit/"Ditto" I seriously think I'm going to get one. And even better.... GREAT TO SEE YOUR CAT AGAIN and actually partake in the demonstration!!!
I want to say thanks so much for the inspiration to buy one of these amazing pieces of equipment! I’ve had mine for almost 6 months and its so amazing. Being able to use modules from both beebo and digit simultaneously now is beyond words. An H9 in an fx loop takes it to another level as well…
Laid back on the couch, closed my eyes, played video and knew I was missing some on-screen details. Rewind, rewatch, yes, questions answered. Having the built in footswitches allows powerful control over powerful algorithms, your analytical brain makes light work of complex units like this. Impressed as always Leon. We have kitty, 👍
Great video! What are your thoughts on plug-and-playing straight into the Poly as a stand alone unit vs using an external preamp?. Haven't seen any specs on input impedance and so on.
Does this and something like the Zioa have factory presets? Im not smart enough to work it yet, so id like to be able to use out of the box while i learn.
@@MrKadidle51 they can cover a lot of similar ground but they're totally different to use. Try both if you can and you'll probably gravitate to one of them.
I play surf so I'm a reverb nut. Reverb IRs are just a stunning leapfrog in digital reverb. You close your eyes and your brain tells you you're in that space. For all that they're far less tweakable than algorithmic reverb, the improvement in sound quality makes it a no-brainer for me. Saying that though, I'll probably wait for the MOD Dwarf. It will be able to do what both these firmware setups do pretty much, but simultaneously. Not that this isn't a superb unit. Just not quite optimised for me. But I think both the MOD units and this unit are the future of guitar effects. No more choosing pedals for versatility or multi-fx for convenience. To have a multi-fx with all the versatility of choosing whichever weird, hokey pedals suit you best, PLUS having IR reverb and all the other benefits. That's a bit of a game changer for me. Multi-FX will always let me down with certain options. But by having a huge choice and new units constantly in development by third parties makes this kind of unit the digital equivalent of the stomp box industry.
Great review, thanks! I keep thinking that an Eventide H9 Max along with an exp pedal does exactly the same sounds , so what ? this is somewhat cheaper right ?
You can only run one effect at a time with the H9, whereas you can run several with this. It's cheaper and it's fast more customizable. I've got a comparison video between the two units coming next week.
It often gets touted as a touch screen version of the Zoia so I'm guessing there's some similarities there especially with the synth engines and controllers.
Cool vid...I just got mine and granted I’ve only spent an hour playing through the stock presets.....I found a lot of the basic presets pretty noisy ie hiss...this was on a two rock clean tone. Anyone else notice this? I’m guessing I just have to dive in and make my own presets but it’s a lot noisier than my H9 or Mobius etc
You are bound and determined to get me to buy a guitar and that amazing piece of kit ain't ya Leon! Luckily my total lack of skilz and knowledge of this has built up my resistance to your evil persuasion. Back! Back I say! Be gone! I love that thing......
@@LeonTodd even though I am totally confident in my assessment of you as being a kind, giving, caring, and tolerant man Leon the beating you would give me if you heard me play would be worthy of a power metal song by Manowar. It would be be an epic beat down and you could rightly proclaim it was in self-defense! :-)
The closest thing to this on the market, the Empress Zoia, costs 500 bucks and it doesn't have a touch screen. Compared to individual pedals and eurorack modules it's very well priced too.
TLDR: Beebo is the blue one - right?!
They are now both the same. The firmware was combined so you get all features on both. The only difference is now the colour

That's made my day to hear that. Glad you're digging it as much as I am!
Thumbs up for the cat
+100000 for the cat interacting with the pedal lol
With the different inputs/outputs, could you run this into the front of an amp, then switch to the effects loop?

The RAVE cat stikes!! That a petty cool unit
What are those caps on the stomp buttons?
nice touch with the cat. :-)

Cool. Especially loved that rotary! 😺
Me too!So lush!
The tapping effect was cool! But, those pirates of barracuda bay mate! Cmon! 👍
Halfway through the build atm, EPIC pirates kit. Would recommend.
@@LeonTodd Awesome! A reveal video in store? Let's hang a left for a slight detour and then get back to regular scheduled programming! lol
Can either firmware support 2 separate channels/fx chains? I’m trying to process vocals and guitar with one pedal.
Yes
Does this and something like the Zioa have factory presets? Im not smart enough to work it yet, so id like to be able to use out of the box while i learn.
Yeah both have loads of presets
@LeonTodd appreciate it
Im thinking about picking up both. Do you think that would be redundant to a degree?

@LeonTodd thanks for the insight
Your assistants are fantastic.
That leslie univibe sound was cool.
Interesting unit Leon, great overview and some tasty playing mate!
Looks like an etch a sketch... almost
I was looking for this comment. Knew i couldnt be the only one who saw that lol
Hahahaha yep!

The MOD stuff looks awesome too. It's like we have entire studios at our feet now!
Well done Brother! Cool demo and tutorial! Thanks for sharing Leon and Be Well All!
Thanks! You too!
Pluses for the mystery hand and kitty kitty.
That chorus sounds terrific.
Thanks to the cat - the video will reach 10 million views soon. Well played Leon
He's the ultimate rockstar
Hi leon! What is the pickup that you use in your PRS?
Cheers from Brazil !!
They're the stock SC245 pups :)

Hey leon, i see u were playing a 70s strat, would you be interested in a 76 strat?
Always interested but I've embargoed myself from buying any more guitars until I move a few on from the stable.
@@LeonTodd i feel that man
Can you freely load the beebo and digit firmware into either hardware unit?
Yes. In fact you just have to go to the pedal settings and choose either Digit or beebo.
Fantastic. Going to buy one. Hey that gain guitar tone was incredibly good - what did you use?
It's only gotten better since i did this - loads more synth stuff, sequencer and more effects. The gain stuff is coming from the Axe-Fx III.
How does this stack up against a ZOIA? Or are they fundamentally different beasts?
It often gets touted as a touch screen version of the Zoia so I'm guessing there's some similarities there especially with the synth engines and controllers.
@@LeonTodd Thanks. Yes the ZOIA is a very deep piece of equipment but the screen is inexplicably tiny. Obvious edge to Beebo in this respect.
1:50 is that an original riff? I'd like to hear a full song length version of that

Hey Leon. Hoosier daddy here. That thing just never quits amazing me... Doesn’t it also have power amp or preamps in the unit as well?
One can tell you really like this thing. You had a smile like the cat that caught the canary
🤣😂🤣👍✌️👍💕👍✌️👍
Yeah Digit has some amp sims, i actually did a video a week or so on them!
Leon Todd Yes. Saw that and loved it sir.

Let's talk about those LEGOs
Soon
Cool cat 😁🤘
Leon. Would you sell that strat?
The Strat's definitely a keeper
Leon Todd agree
Cat be diggin' it!! 😺😻
I think you'll find the answer to your question in Morty's Mind Blowers ;)
I would have started the video with the cat 🤣🤷
Ok time to save up
Beebo is what my 2 year old son calls the flashing lights on fire engines
Hahaha that's glorious
Killer Vibrato!!
Too kind mate, cheers!
Were any cats harmed in the making of this video?
No cats were harmed but several cat biscuits were sacrificed.
Ooh new Pirate Lego
Now that is GLORIOUS
