The WESN Bornas: Awesome for its Niche-Gaining an Edge, Ep. 452

  • The WESN Bornas is WESN’s first fixed blade and, the company repeatedly states, its first knife made in Sweden. If I were selling this knife, which I’m not, I’d bill it as being a pocketable fixed blade with the ergonomics of a pocket knife. The blade steel is S35VN and it’s actually fairly slicey for a fixed blade. The blade is also unquestionably under 3”, so if you need something in an area with a legal line, you can do pretty well with this knife. There’s also no lock to fail, of course. The only sticking point might be price: it’s $200, or will be when it’s released. I backed it on Kickstarter for $115 and figured it would be $150-$175, but no. If you need a pocketable fixed blade for some reason, the Bornas is a great choice, but it becomes fairly niche due to the price.

I love the Bornas, along with Allman and Microblade. WESN makes a phenomenal knife 🤙

Very nice looking knife! But like every WESN model, I wish they made them larger. Though I can't imagine what they'd charge for a larger version of this😆Cheers, buddy!

Thanks! I honestly like this one BECAUSE it’s smaller, though yes, I imagine it wouldn’t be cheap.
