"Devil Will Cry When they Ride the Ghost of War" Hey, it's not everyday a game developer copies the best concepts of top-tier action games and do it well. Kudos to Climax for delivering despite the roadblocks. Gotta check it out! PS2 got a lot of hidden gems. Also, you can play Ghost Rider in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance. He's even in the cover of that game!
Man, I absolutely loved this game when I was kid on the PS2. I remember the game having a shit ton of extras like concept arts, comics and even test like levels where you could fuck around in the bike. And the atmosphere, oh man, it ignited my early love for creepy and dark stuff. So fun to play.
Yeah i could see Ghost Rider getting a new game in an open world game inspired by those legendary Spider-Man games and such, the idea of calling in the bike as a means of traversal either on the ground, walls, etc to using it in combat, basically kinda like what Batman Arkham Knight did with the Batmobile but with way more options to get around and speed, also of course the combat to be Devil May Cry like with some God of War in there as well, like the last game and only officially released game released at this time.
One thing you missed is how with each different skin for Ghost Rider, his bike changes to fit said skin. Classic Ghost Rider's bike has a retro look, 2099's bike look similar to the one from the comics as much as possible, Vengeance's bike looks more demonic. Blade's bike is just normal.
I used to work at a used game/dvd store in Houston and one of my coworkers got a knife pulled on them and the only thing the robber stole was this game. I know it's hard to believe but it's very true. Luckily my friend was ok and the suspect was caught pretty quickly.
Man, the Ghost RIder game wss rad as hell, and had to reason to be, but it tried, and I give it that. The fact that they got Blade in here, and he plays decently is a testament to their effort, but Fred Tatasciore voicing him certainly was... a choice. Speaking of the cast, Liam O'brien did a pretty good Cage impression, plus getting Steve Blum, Robin Atkin Downes, Kirk Thornton, Lex Lang and Dave Wittenberg, who all voiced major edgelords at the time, to be in a full cast of them was a pretty good choice. Knowing the market now, another solo title isn't happening, but a Midnight Sons team, with GR as a lead, that we can hope.
@@deadlyninja112 it did! Albeit the first game I played in the DMC series was 4 which was great! I went back to the trilogy before 5 came out too which was cool!
Turok Evolution, Shadow Man, Hellboy: The Science of Evil, Superman Returns, The Fantastic Four games, Batman Rise of Sin Tzu, Spawn Armageddon, Wanted Weapons of Fate and maybe a power rangers game or something. Those are games I would love to see you do next.
There's a cutscene in the desert town where ghost rider uses his head to light a stick of dynamite to get past a barrier and continue to the next level when playing as blade he gets the same animation in the cutscene just using his vampiric naps to light sticks of dynamite on fire
imma be honest. I love this game to this day. i recently just played through it once more and felt like a kid again. ghost rider was always my favorite Marvel hero as a kid and still holds up to this day in my opinion.
This looks pretty fun actually! Van Helsing on the PS2/Xbox is super similar- also heavily inspired by Devil May Cry, also based on a big-budget film property, also a fun B-tier character action game.
I remember getting pretty far in this game on my ps2 back when I was 9. I got back from a school and played through a lot in one sitting. But then we had a power outage while the game was saving and the save file got corrupted. I never touched Ghost Rider for the PS2 again. But seeing how good this was, I'm gonna try it again
I had a choice between this and Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles 2 when I was 10. I chose chronicles and I kinda, sorta regret it. Chronicles has a coop mode at least and it feels like playing through a well made filler arc.

But watching this review and seeing the awesome animations and combos and particle effects, how the fuck does one not like this game? It's no wonder I fucking loved it.
I received this game (PS2 Version) for Xmas/Birthday, and while I wasn't a fan of some of the components I actually did like the game! It was short enough to not overstay it's welcome, and I remember playing through it a few times and collecting all those different unlockables. Blade was so fun!
Loved this back in the day, its no DMC but its a ton of fun and captures the character well, also its sweet as fuck that Blade was an unlockable character.
I loved this game back in the day. It was one of my favorites growing up, and might have been the first game I've ever finished on my own. Watching this gave me flash backs thank you for this video.

Preferably one made by a team like Platinum Games and with a band like Carnifex doing the soundtrack. I mean seriously, just listen to "Hell Chose Me" and tell me it wouldn't perfectly fit Ghost Rider tearing through a wave of enemies Metal Gear Rising style.
Both this game and Spawn Armageddon were good games in my opinion. They needed just a bit more polish but overall for what we got they were sufficient.
Ghost rider is just such a badass looking character! It's similar to the skull knight in berserk. Love that kind of skeleton character! Man, the old caretaker, the horse ghost rider with Sam Elliott was absolutely dope! Also, I'd probably put Martian manhunter at A tier or higher! Love him! He's not quite as popular as the others, but man I love him! He's awesome, man! Same with black canary 😅😁👌🏻
I loved this game so much, especially the motorcycle levels. The bosses may have been repetitive, but everything else was so fun. I played the PS2 version and I guess you could say it was my introduction to God of War style games.
I freaking love this game. One of the few games i went out of my way to find and not hesitate when i found it locally. The cut Wolverine cameo with lighting his cigar would have been so badass

The ghostrider game was one of the best games I played growing up. I didn't get a ps2 till 2006ish and this was one of the best games in my library. I was only like 8 years old so it was either that or every single smackdown vs raw game for the system. I have got a few gems in recent years like disgaea but for the most part I didn't have quality games for my ps2 so ghostrider was a fresh of breath air. I also was just a huge fanboy for ghostrider and silver surfer growing up, coping old comics for super cheap from one of the local stores.

So when I was 10 (or 11. This was years ago), I had a choice while visiting family in a different state to get either this or Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles 2. That’s still one of my favorite cheesy ass films and being a young ass kid, it would’ve been a great introduction into the hack and slash genre. I should try finding a copy online tbh.
I liked the Ghost Rider movie when I was a kid and I LOVED this game back then, my biggest issue was always the bike levels but even then I loved riding the motorcycle as Ghost Rider
this game is one of my favorite tie-in character action alongside Van Helsing in ps2,so the budget reduce and it was supposed to be a standlone game kinda reminds me of X-men origins game that was supposed to be it's own thing before fox came in.And killing enemy by reaching a certain Rank is pretty cool if DMC want to implemented it [the last time they used is on DmC Definite Edition].And it's mindblowing that this game ALMOST inspired DMC on chevalier, man Climax truly deserve a chance to make this but more refined.
Hearing you talk about how janky the bike sections were makes me feel so seen, I knew it wasn’t my fault it took me like a half hour each to beat some of those
I just ordered it on ebay thanks to this video. I never knew this game was good. I feel bad for missing it because I loved the movie and played the hell out of ps2.
This was probably my favorite ps2 game when I was little. I remember it being hard as hell but so rewarding when I finally beat the levels. I remember really liking when Blade shows up and you're on the train or chasing the train. I also remember the carnival level and final boss. For me the hardest sections was the third world. It was the one in the water plant or something like that. Can't remember what the enemies were but I remember absolutely hating that level. Ironically though that boss fight on the motor cycle at the end of the level is my favorite part of the whole game.
Every time I think about this game the phrase "better than it has any right to be" comes to mind. Based on the recent goofy and fun if mediocre movie that came out around the same time, copying a lot of other popular games, not many original ideas in its head, kinda janky vehicle sections...but i still fucking love it.

I adored this game as a kid... especially since I loved God of War, and it reminded me of that! :D
22:55 boi, do I got a surprise for you from the year 2024.
Ghost rider ps2 is one of my favorite games from when I was a little kid
Holy shit, the Blade inclusion is brilliant!
Legit, this game needs a remake or a re-relase
Every time I think about this game the phrase "better than it has any right to be" comes to mind. Based on the recent goofy and fun if mediocre movie that came out around the same time, copying a lot of other popular games, not many original ideas in its head, kinda janky vehicle sections...but i still fucking love it.
This was my childhood, I remember liking it so much I got the psp version even though I had the ps2 version already.
Is this a new show/series?
Yup. He started with Batman Begins a few months ago. This is the second video in the series.
@@Riggs_The_Roadie I must've missed it!
This game was my childhood and I loved it
Literal definition of a solid game, much like that Punisher one.
Iron Man had a decent game on the GBA
I remember absolutely loving this game back then and i played it before i ever touched dmc or god of war so it just had more of an impact on me
