I had an '04 ZX-6RR back in the day and I stupidly took off the nice FMF slip-on it had and replaced it with just a shorty tip I got on eBay. Basically it was a straight pipe.
I had a friend who had a speed shop on the side of the main road and I'd fly by almost redlining 6th gear.
He said he could hear the bike for a long time before I flew by, and that it sounded like an F1 car. It was absurdly loud. I regret whoever I disturbed with that thing. I'm surprised I never got pulled over.

It's not downshift, It's because he let off the throttle....

@@Legend57. The only popping noise is when downshifting. The fuel that is not being burned will cause a misfire. Misfires when letting off the gas sound different.
