It was a Parrot fish though you may see it's little cousin the Rainbow Wrasse in many home marine aquariums. Beautiful aren't they?

Parrotfish are incredibly beautiful... and delicious! my grandfather often caught them in his commercial fishing nets, so i've been lucky enough to have eaten it many time. the flesh is rich and flavorful, and it can very easily be served in so many different ways. my grandmother's Caribbean-style 'stewed fish' was always extra-delicious whenever my grandfather came back with parrotfish from the day's catch.
That parrotfish made my mouth water.
I like the taste of parrot fish but I think the way I had it, the blasted fish was very boney and I felt like I had to dance around looking for bones so I could actually eat the fish… if I ever get another chance at it again I’ll try a fillet hopefully without an abundance of bones within

Very beautiful. I love that no part of the fish was wasted. All that could be safely consumed, was indeed used and prepared exceptionally well. The blanching of the sashimi was so well done and satisfying to watch! I just love how colorful all of the fish are too. I know many of these are reef or deep water species, but wow! Nature is amazing! 🤩

All of this makes my mouth water. Fish cooked correctly, to enhance the flavor. I live in the United States of North America, despite being created from cultures throughout the world, instead of having and utilizing the best of the world, we have settle for adequate and limited menu. This is not to say we do not have all these different types of cuisine, it is just that it is not available to everyone. At the same time, they are bright spots, where there is surprising menus and exquisite preparation of a great variety of food.

Yes, of course I eat at our local “ greasy spoon” diner, which I’m delighted to say is probably one of the best ones I’ve ever eaten at.
It is discouraging when I’ve gone to places that advertise seafood, and I am in evitable it is appointed. And when I speak to the appropriate people about their food, I’m told it is too much work, it takes too long, and the worst excuse is that it’s not possible keep fresh fish, to clean the fish, cook it, and serve it to the customers combine with disrespect and underestimating the customers. Insisting that we, the customer can’t tell the difference.

La gastronomia japonesa se me hace muy simplona, lo mismo, pero con diferente tipo de especies marinas
Me da la misma impresión, al menos este tipo de platillos que van crudos y apenas con algún acompañamiento; sobre todo si se compara con platillos tailandeses o vietnamitas. Aunque a la vez me intriga porqué lo consumen crudo. ¿Hay algo en el sabor, se supone que tienen alguna propiedad interesante, es tradición?
Por otro lado, hay otros tipos de platillos como el ramen donde me sorprende el cuidado que se tiene en la elaboración y selección de ingredientes.
Es porque este es un platillo en especifico, sashimi, que solo es la carne del pescado o marisco que se sirve sola en rebanadas bien delgadas, a diferencia del sushi que si es mas elaborado
