Nicole Rudolph, a historical shoemaker on TH-cam. Just did a video on the history of men deeming women to be "mannish". It's a great video, a great historical analysis of how men are so emotional, they have been afraid of women wearing tailored clothing for centuries. I reccomend watching her video, it's definitely informative and hilarious.
@@necroflowers2244 Yes I love her videos and a few other historical fashion youtubers like Karolina Zebrowska, one of my fav vids by her is called "Men Complaining About Women's Fashion For 8 Minutes (And 500 Years) Straight" where she reads criticism from old books/diaries/articles/letters etc. and it's literally shit you would hear today but in ye olde flowery language, it really puts into perspective the excessive importance people have always assigned to womens appearances and how silly it all is
As a gay man you got it absolutely right: Me and my boyfriend at the end of the date fight to the death. Because I wanted to pay and he said he wants to pay. But I cannot let him. And he cannot either. So we fight and the loser doesn’t pay.
Hey, if you both wanna pay so bad, Ill come along- you can take care of my bill. If you want privacy- I’ll be 4 tables over. No problem. Just want you two to feel like real men, and also stop “ fighting to the death “every date.sheesh!
My little sister created a gender neutral form of "ma'am"/" sir" and it is MOOSE. MOOSE. She did that cause I'm nonbinary and dislike 'ma'am'. Kids are weird, and they don't care if you're not a boy or girl, they'll just make up a term for you instead
Moose is a great term 😂 Once the kids I used to babysit asked me if trees are boys or girls (because they knew I was a biology student) and I said some are boys, some are girls, and a lot of plants are both. From then on they'd ask me if a plant was a boy or a girl or both. Kids literally don't care about or judge that stuff unless you teach them they should. 💚🏳️🌈
The term ‘moose’ reminded me of a character named Moose from the old disney show Pepper Ann. Moose’s gender was always disputed on the show, I just headcanon them as enby
I IDENTIFY AS A LOSER!!! I IDENTIFY AS SOMEONE WHO CANNOT PICK UP YOUR GIRL AND SWIFTLY CARRY HER AWAY ROMANTICALLY ABOVE MY HEAD LIKE I'M A BEAR AND SHE'S THE BIGGEST SALMON I'VE EVER SEEN!!!
It’s just comical to me how these types of people don’t believe in pronouns. Like, sis, pronouns aren’t some crazy new woke thing that liberals made up; they’re literally part of basic English. For “I don’t have pronouns” to have any weight, you would have to just not refer to yourself by “he”, “him”, “she”, “her”, or anything you use for that other than your name. At all.
As a gay man, I can confirm we do indeed arm wrestle for the bill. If one still insists on paying after he loses, it has to escalate to a fight to the death. I’ve lost 3 dates this way 😔
Nah you can't even be mad about that, the fact that you're still alive means you won three fights to the death. You were clearly superior and those men didn't deserve you

@@nailinthefashionWhere’s the mental gymnastics exactly? You demand respect for pronouns but when you are asked to not use ‘Cis’ suddenly that’s asking too much?
i’ve seen tories using the full pronoun set a la “they/them”, like, increasingly frequently as of late i find it very funny but presumably for the wrong reasons
That didn’t even really feel like a joke. It’s like, yeah dude…you literally just described a parent who doesn’t associate with being a mother or a father. Here in the English speaking real world, since you seem to be from Trump’s imagined Lala Land, we call that a “parent” instead of a mother or a father. Like, you even recognized that said parent would use They/Them. Where’s the joke here?
He said if someone says “I identify as” means they are pretending to be that thing…. So if a cis man says “I identify as a man” means they are actually a woman? Ok, ok ✅
Yeah and the thing he said about Indians... like, can an indian person not identify as indian? Does he not believe in India as a country? DID HE MEAN NATIVE AMERICAN OMG my point still stands.
Honestly, the guy in the skits doesn't come off as conservative. He feels like a liberal making fun of how conservatives see liberals and also like he's having a good natured crack at some of the more extreme liberals. Is his grift being a conservative? Or does he just embody r/accidently as his existence?
It was a crazy day when I realized that american republicans see riding a bicycle as 'liberal' instead of ... an accessible and totally normal mobility option.
That ain’t nothing! When a proposition to expand the light rail system made it on the ballot in Austin, Conservatives were up in arms about the very notion, even going so far as to claim that it would (somehow) “infringe on their freedom of movement” …while using their pickups\personal vehicles.
Legit, they are so DESPERATELY trying to keep it from (inevitably) being a sausage fest, it’s hilarious. I really wouldn’t be remotely surprised if they started offering to pay women to join eventually, the scrambling need is palpable
And let's also realize that they made women premium users automatically is because they know the men joining are going to be trash stand the women are going to need that protection
omg yeah there is basically 0.000% market for this app. No one wants it and I think the developer/owner kinda lost his mind when we realized this massive group of conservatives and money he thought he would profit off of doesn't exist.

It‘s so funny to me that people are saying that the LGBTQ+ is „new“ when the ancient gods were also LGBTQ+. Like, Loki is Genderfluid and Bisexual and Apollo was Bisexual too
Found the Percy Jackson fan! Also I’d assume Eros and Aphrodite would be open to all love, yknow. Horny love gods that they are. Edit: also Loki is WAY more than just bisexual. I think they might be everything-sexual. Beyond pansexual.
As a young boy, I was definitely taught how to be a girl and encouraged to be feminine. Then again, everyone thought I was a girl at the time. I'm trans
Honestly, getting rid of gendered shoe sections and just having shoes sounds amazing. It would be so much easier to have just one system of shoe size and organize the shoes by type rather than having two sections with different measurements. Man’s honestly a genius.
My mom has large feet and always has trouble looking for shoes. I asked why she doesn’t just wear men’s shoes and she said they aren’t pretty 😭 GIVE MY MOM HER PRETTY SHOES
It always confuses me when Conservatives who are normally Christian are snarky about taking care the planet. Don't they believe their god created it? Shouldn't they be worried that Yahweh would be really pissed?
Unfortunately a lot of them believe it's not necessary to take care of the planet, because Jesus is coming back soon and once that happens God is going to destroy the old Earth (aka, the one we're living on right now) and create a new, perfect Earth. They're literally banking on the apocalypse happening, and they think it's a _good_ thing. It's the same thought process behind, say, if your car's paint is all scratched up, why bother getting it fixed if you already plan to buy a new car in a couple months? Many also believe that it's not even possible for humans to affect the Earth permanently in any way, because how could we puny little mortals possibly harm the great, divinely designed planet God gave us? He simply wouldn't allow it. Basically American Christianity actually makes the problem a lot worse, because it completely removes any sense of responsibility for the fate of our own planet. Why bother lifting a finger when God will just take care of it?
Basically the USA is a giant cooperation, the conservative party leaders benefit from the very things that are causing global warming, (e.g. they get money from oil), their inherent tie with religion in their party means they can add a religious spin to their anti-environmentalism. Religious people are inherently more susceptible to brainwashing/propaganda because their entire lives are centred around believing things with no real evidence, meaning they're easier for the conservative party to control, thats why no matter how far fetched the lies that the GoP make up republicans believe it with no questions.
As a Christian, specifically raised Catholic, we ARE raised to give a shit about the planet. Many shits. As a kid it was drilled into my head that we are stewards of the earth. We’re meant to look after it. The flora and fauna, the people, all of it. The problem is, this breed of Christians don’t actually care about what God would want them to do. They worship the American flag. They like doing what politicians say God would like, then loudly proclaiming just how godly they are in comparison to the people they think are lesser. In the Bible that these people swear they follow, they would have been called hypocrites.
@FctHvn When your bodily anatomy (sex) isn't male or female. What do you want intersex people to use? Male and female just aren't correct when talking about their body.
it baffles me how conservatives can say that its "just their beliefs and opinions" and they cannot wrap their minds around the fact that oppression and prejudice aren't "opinions" 😭
Reminds me when people said Andrew Tate’s misognystic view on women is just “his opinion”, but if someone said something about black people then thats a no-no.
my favourite reply to that is "well, I still hate conservatives & think they should burn in hell!" and when they get defensive i just reply "what? it's my opinion" lmao
I find people hating different parent names so weird bc when my dad (she/her) came out as trans she started to get weird looks from people when me and my brother called her dad, so i AT 9 YEARS OLD came up with "Addy" to make a feminine version of dad that wasn't mom, we should normalize coming up with fun names for parents to
Totally a me problem but everytime i read the word addy i think of adderal because i was hyperfixated on Class of '09 recently... Anyway it's ADORABLE to do that !!!
for real!! as a dude with a feminine body type, I'd LOVE to see feminine models for suits. The amount of times I've looked at a handsome suit and tried it on only to find that the suit stretches weirdly around the chest or hips and I've been disappointed is way too many. I'd also love to see many different model body types, I'm quite thin and all the models expect that thinness to be around the tummy but mine is the ribs, back, and legs. I'd just appreciate having a better idea of what clothes might look like on me.
Right? When I came out to my parents, I never had any question of whether they would be supportive. I knew they would be, because they always are, no matter what. (Don't get me wrong, my parents can annoy me a lot at times. But when it comes to the big stuff in life, they always stand by me.)

As an Indian descended person, there’s a concept in India called Hijra, which is essentially a person who isn’t male or female. They’re supposed to be considered as holy people. There’s a part of the Ramayana, in some regional variations, about them; it’s said lord Ram addressed a crowd in the forest for every man and woman to return to their homes and when he retired the only people who remained were those neither male nor female, the undesirable by society, and he venerated them for their devotion. There’s also another version where all the people stayed and upon his return he saw they never left the forest and allowed the men and women to phase together reaching and new sense of understanding. There’s also a Hindu god of the Hijra also considered to be a god for transgender people essentially. This is what I remember from this topic, it might not be 100% right and their may be other regional variations.

Gender is a lot like religion... You'll probably be TOLD what you "are" from birth maybe without ever being given any room to explore it, but eventually you'll be free to choose for yourself. Like, you can be born into a Christian family and be told you ARE a Christian but then maybe later you feel like converting to Judaism... The transition takes a while and some people might not treat you the same as non-converts, but you're still Jewish at the end of the day, no matter what other people believe, even if they tell you you've made a mistake and you'll come back and be ashamed.

Why bother lifting a finger when God will just take care of it?
just want to say i appreciate the alternate name for god. no other notes

She told us she once had a student who asked her to call him something like "Dragon-Slayer" or something to that effect, and she called him that the whole time he was in her class.
I feel like you could do something like that, but also make sure the students know that if they're not comfortable saying it in front of the class, they could tell you in private, and that could be very helpful in making trans students feel safe and accepted. In my experience, the biggest help was teachers getting after students who were openly transphobic. If they use the wrong name or pronouns, correct them. After that I realized that my whole family is made up of very conservative Republicans, and being able to take that step back made me realize just how horrible they are as people. Not just regarding politics, but just in their day-to-day lives. It’s like their political affiliation has become such a big part of their identity that they literally can’t stop thinking in that way. It’s honestly really frightening
I am fully aware that your situation is shitty and i cant change that but
Stay strong woman, hope you can be your true self publicly ome day
You definitely don’t care just say woman and not (wo)man she is a woman okay??
@@EmmettHough-qb5ts my guy i did it because i wrote "stay strong man" because i usually use words like "man" or "dude" as genderneutral but i realized not everyone saw it that way
i'll edit it without the () if you want but its really not that deep
@@oo-vivianI do too, and when I want to be more mindful of people who might take it wrong, I usually use "friend" or "pal." A comma before "man" could also help distinguish that it's being used as a gender neutral term. Not trying to be an asshole, so I'm sorry if it comes across that way, but I thought it might be helpful :)
@@ominouslightning nah i get what you're saying i just thought it'd be a funny little thing and didn't really give it much thought beyond that
i just got a bit defensive at the accusation of "not caring" but i'll prob do it like that now
fun story about 23:38, i went to prom with a guy who was trying to decide between a dress and a vintage 70's purple leisure suit and went with the suit. his father legit said that word for word. this isn't even parody anymore.
Im convinced this man did ballet or another dance class until high school where he was bullied out of it and turned into this.
my favorite thing about the "identify" tiktok is that he just did a complete catch-all for all self identification....like by his logic, if i say that i self identify as a baker, i'm just pretending and i've never actually baked anything in my life

24:35 I met an ultra-conservative guy on a forum I frequent who claimed to be from a fairly liberal household, but he decided to convert to Catholicism and at first we were like "oh ok whatever you do you" but then he revealed over time that he was a severe holocaust-denier, became a white supremacist and believes that interracial dating/marriage was the cause of all our problems in America, and also that he used to date guys and be a theater kid but was "cured" and we were like "oh nvm it's brain worms" and got him permabanned
How does that even happen 😭😭
Definitely brain worms or he got hard heartbroken by the guy and figured no gay-no pain
The fact he said he came from a fairly liberal household and then converted to Catholicism tells you he’s lying. Being liberal does not equal atheism.A lot of liberal people are atheistic but it’s a correlation not causation thing.
Big yikes.
@@margodphdno gay no pain sent me 😭
i’m a 21 year old trans guy and when i came out at 17 my parent told me it inspired them to confront their own gender identity and they discovered they were nonbinary. we had a beautiful cry over our respective self-discovery journeys and discussed how we’d address each other. now they call me their son and i call them my Zaz. it’s wonderful :,)
i like how you joke about lesbians saying “no you have to pay” at a dinner date when actually we just get stuck in an infinite loop of “no its okay i can pay”
As a two spirit mom I loved this episode. And I can confirm I am an owner of a trans ray gun and I go around making sure there are NO more MANLY MEN anymore 🤬
But actually tho I loved this Collab y’all are amazing together.
but what if i, a woman, want to be come a manly man?!

It’s true. At my local froyo shop they have his picture framed and above in huge bold red letters: “DO NOT LET THIS MAN IN”
I mean, the way he eats his ice cream should be illegal.
This made me cackle
LMAO THAT IS A SLAY
This just feels like something from a cartoon
As a climatologist, I LOVED YOUR DISCUSSION. I hate putting blame for the climate crisis on individuals. Not using Amazon does lots more than composting. How can you justify blaming people when the wealth disparity is so big. Dont blame yourself, blame corporations
