Got told by the old man that I was an idiot and it's a waste of money and time. Now my missus knows how much they are worth and wants me to sell it..... I know which one I am keeping!

Yep I hear ya mate We had a few paddock bashers that we destroyed and then pushed into gullies as land fill that were better than some of the cars we try to restore theses days. If only we knew !
@@backshed5295 Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Bought an XA Coupe for the electric window mechanisms and wiring then cut the car up and scrapped it, I did save the doors and boot lid though. Shameful to think about it now.
My stepdad had a genuine GS Coupe that he was restoring when he was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. He did some restoration of it, but he got bad and ended up selling the car. We've still got a 2V 250 head in the shed, sans values and springs. They are a beautiful car.
Reminds me of a mint 302 GS XC Wagon I had has a teenager. Can’t remember why I got rid of it (I think I traded it for a (very) rotten Sundowner). Just another car I wish I’d kept, probably best not to think about it 😂

They were shocking rust buckets worst I had was a XA sedan if it rained you got wet from roadspray, had more luck with XBs, on the plus side theres plenty of patch and repop panels for them, Falcon by Ikea.

True story. Mad Max was mostly made in areas I lived and worked. Got stopped on Farm Rd Werribee Vic by a guy who told us we couldn't go through as they were making a "Major motion picture." I asked who was in it, he said Mel Gibson. My reply "Never heard of him." Shortly after the bikes came passed followed by Gibson in the coupe. My God it was a P.O.S.

No one because todays generations think these cars are shitboxes, slow, rusted, poor handling, shit brakes etc etc. House price over 2,000,000 in any Sydney suburb virtually and people with serious money want prestige and luxury and A/C. So many muscle cars for sale, not one shred of interest in any of them and those who love these cars are so far away from ever owning anything, so if you own one, sell it fast because even another mining boom won't save this market. The other elephant in the room is the amount of rust ANY 50 year old two door car has and if you think its a 'clean example' your deluded. These coupes were poorly assembled from factory and have steel plates welded here and there to add some strength and integrity to the design which it shares various body styles with. If the repairs are shit, it just adds more money and time to repairs. No upload since? No fucking surprise there buddy as you bought another shit box full of rust which is worthless, being a Falcon 500 at best. The market has finished for good, suck it up buddy cause the generation of muti cultural Australians have ZERO interest in what is a small culture to begin with. Think about it.
