They certainly would have ..This is when Ford U.S. were building the crappy downsized mid 1970's Mustangs . The XB and XC would have done well ..Check out the XC Cobra ...Sheer unasdulterated beauty . Funny thing is I'm not a fan of yellow cars generally but this one is spectacular ...
As a Yank I'd have to say those Falcon lines can compete against anything we offered in the late 60's and early 70's. Fukin beautiful, arguably the best looking Ford muscle car ever built. Especially that one.
@@3PercentNeanderthal well I believe the falcon and mustang have always been pretty close, the early 70s mustangs have similar rear ends to the xb, just look at those window lines
@@burntferidgerator6848 I agree but I see Torino and Cougar styling cues in there too. Either way they are some damn good looking cars. I wish the market was deeper and importing them was easier because I'd love to have one.
I had a '73 mustang mach-1 in the same livery with a 351C auto. Senior year. Loved its looks. Performance was... erm... yeah, it was such that I would never, ever set foot in one again unless I resto-modded it myself. But this thing here is absolutely gorgeous! Really spot-on for what I was looking for. Front end of a Mach, rear of a torino. Wow! My two favorite cars in one!
They just got those coupes so right in the 70's didn't they? Looks like its doing 100mph in the car park. After watching Mad Max1 & 2 & growing up watching the Hardie Ferrodo & 77 Bathurst 1-2 Moffat hardtops win, i had to own one of these, so as a 19yo, i saved up & got me a 1 owner '73 Fairmont for $3300. I sold it 2yrs later for $5500 because my 1st boss told me,, "That thirsty bastard will keep you poor, Son, sell that & buy yourself a housing block" Biggest regret of my life & i've missed it everyday since. Ironically it'd be worth 100k or more now, so not a bad investment for a $3300 bet. Praying i win the Classics for a Cause Coupe,,wish me luck. Thanks for sharing this superb example. I love it.
I'm a Ford yankee from Michigan and this car is absolutely gorgeous. I think mustangs are over played. I'd take one of these any day over any Ford over here. Although I am partial to the 63 1/2 Galaxy R-code.
A neighbour had one of these (precisely that model/colour) in '74 . I had my '69 series 2 E-Type, plus another little coupe, but it was the Falcon that the kids were excited about.. 'Worra' car they screamed, as he passed by!
I had a 1971 XA 351 GT 5 speed manual toploader. I regret selling my GT. Calypso green with white leather interior. Got caught on hull road Moroolbark Vic 1988 doing 60mph in a 60km zone
Mines almost done xb coupe 351 new valves guides and seats to run unleaded with an engine rebuild roller rockers double springs and NO RUST AT ALL!!! 100K in body work restored to new.
I'm a MOPAR MAN but the XB GT has always been my favourite Australian ford and this one is right up there. Beautifully presented, you shoul be proud. The only thing I don't like is the rack and pinion steering but that's just a personal dislike. Not sure about the yellow inserts on the seats either but again, that's just me. Well done for not doing a burn out, it shows younhave respect for the car 😎👍
Never liked the XB in general but in coupe form, this is where it's at. I can hear the salivating from overseas itching to take this away from Australia. Look but don't touch! You've taken more than your share!
the XB coupe has to be the sickest car on earth.
That's one of the most beautiful Fords I've ever seen. It's a shame the Falcon GT was never sold in the US. They would have done very well.

@@rodneymcgiveron I second the yellow opinion, but I do find the colour sits better on classics than modern carriages.
Actually, the Falcon did sell in the US until 1970.
@@eagle1416 Nothing resembling this Falcon ever sold in the US.
@@yyzwdm That's not what I'm saying.
When someone does their job properly, this kind of beauty is created. Well done Ford!
This is totally my DREAM car! About as good as a hardtop gets.
Those were the days dreams were made off. A great 427 V8 engine, great speed and stopping power.
Australia used to make the best muscle cars
used is the tragedy

@@3PercentNeanderthal on of the cheapest ones I found was 90k stock, and the ones I found in Australia in somewhat poor condition are still like 20k
XBGT Coupe is one thing but a 427 Clevo Stroker in it too that's just Viscous sounds beautiful.
It's the last of the V-8's!
The wing and the wheels mixed with the body is just perfect
The build quality is amazing. Sounds tuff too.
I'm from America, and I love this car! Beautiful Machine! Wish I owned it!😊

351 Cleveland also a great motor.Powered some muscle in AU as well.
That is a thing of beauty, and I'm a Holden owner 😁👍🏻
I'm kinda split, if it's utes then I'll go Holden because they have better design, but for sedan/coupes I'll always on Falcon
@@ghivifahmi4252ht,hq,hk??
Beautiful car, sounds awesome!
Real man's muscle car.
Tuff and grumpy.
Not like the poser modern interpretations today.
Always a fan of the Falcon, this might just be the nicest 1 I've seen, & I'm not a yellow fan, but, WOW !....it looks great on this car
OMG. Sounds and looks fantastic.. so jealous. Well done

These vehicles were a work of art, I've owned Holdens, Fords, and many Chryslers, many modern cars will not last as long, watch

Stunning car absolutly beautiful. Nothing like the sound of a big clevo 👍👍
What a magnificent car, I always thought black and yellow were the greatest of all colours for that kind of raw muscle car!!
Beautiful machine, I had a GS worked straight 6 4 speed, 3 gear was magical!! same colour, V8 would have been epic
THIS KING OF AUSTRALIA ITS BETTER THAN MUSTANG
Beautiful Build!
Top job, especially putting a rack and pinion steering into it. Well done.
Far canal! Gorgeous!
Absolutely beautiful car
Dang send me one to sandiego California ☺️☺️☺️🥰🥰🥰🥰
Just bloody gorgeous!
This has been my dream car since yesterday

Beautiful machine. I can feel the horses here.
An absolute proper bird !!! Well done mate @!👍👍
Fantastic car :)
Awesome build and car. One of the nicest I’ve seen. Cudos👍
Beautiful car!
its like they took the best styling of the torino, added it to the Mustang and made this piece of art.
When mustang and Torino gave birth to a baby and named it Falcon lol.
@@skeletonmandiecastcollector this falcón XB looks like a fusión between the 70" Torino GT and the 72" Mustang march 2.
Man that is such a beautiful car
The second I heard the exhaust note I clicked the like icon…….
Pure Friggin Awesome "
Hello from American Fantastic build!

What a handsome car! I'd love to own one if I won the lotto

4 speed Ros. yeah i always got busted either Hull rd or Durham rd usually coming home from the Dorset
It looks like a mustang and Torino mash up. What a beautiful car and I'm a Mopar guy
-The car is and sounds freaking beautiful 🤩
Great job, really nice car.
you just cant beat the cars of yesteryear
It's very similar to the Gran Torino GT in America, but the falcon is more pleasing to the eye , a very attractive vehicle.
just as impressive as the car is the video....so impressed....
what a beautiful car
Woooow, what a car in very good condotion love this model (Mad Max)
Fabulous Looking XB . 👌 😅
❤ The Black ⚫️ Interior
fantastic car !
Holy moly, nice car!
That is a beautiful car with a beautiful motor. Well done
Dang beautiful car
From 1974, just compare the beauty of this thing to the Mustang being made at that time, Aussie Muscle easily dominated
My dream mini car
That car represents an Australia that once was.

0:13 The Cleveland V8 engine they have mounted is a version of the 351C in Stroker Cleveland 427?
You've seen it and you've heard and you're still asking questions.......when do we go for a ride 😂
Flat tappets? This is heavenly... wow
Looks like a mini usa 70 71 torino fastback with a mustang front end. I like it!
I wish we had these in the U.S.
A guy in upstate NY has one same colour.
I think you mean sold there new? You can thank your auto unions as well as being engineered for RHD.
As good as it gets in my opinion
Вот это агрегат! Настоящий Police Interceptor:)
I know that there was a kit available to stroke the 351 Windsor into a 427, but I didn't know that the same could be done to a 351 Cleveland?
What a great platform to modify into the last great V8 black interceptor.
Beautiful
nice video
I'd say my dream car but my dreams never come true so its my wish for car!
A gt 427, Cleveland power?, why am I only now even hearing about one , I am astonished!
