I am always avoiding any "drags" because they wear out the wheels so fast.

Thanks man! Yea sliding is tearing the wheels down. A toeslide like this just a very light touch an then to keep the wheels from flatspots i try and slide My foot in a arc to Even the wear. But very good point!

Start trying to just tap or keep your toe off the ground while you load the spin. You can play with reaching you leg farther back or like a curtsy step behind you. Or even stepping under and behind your standing leg for a pretty unique cross legged position.
