At the end of his life, particularly in August of 1970, Jimi was just sucked out bone dry both mentally and spiritually. He was taken advantage of by his management and planned to leave Michael Jeffrey, his manager at the time, and he wanted to go in a different direction, away from the rockstar position and into a new role. We can only imagine how his work in the 1970s would have sounded.

I was 15 when Hendrix died and his influence (for me) musically will never die.
There is no way to know how far Jimi would have taken his brand of music.....

@@meyerj75 I agree. The things that can happen when you aren't getting enough rest are incredible. Hallucinations, weight loss, an increase in the stress hormone Cortisol from the Adrenal Glands... They wanted every single piece of Jimi. He wanted & saw a vision of the way he wanted his music to go in and his POS manager wanted him to stay stagnant. Thats what being an artist is, changing and growing. His manager was scared he would lose fans and that would result is less revenue for him. What a POS you have to be to do that. Also you have fans/groupies giving you "things" to try to get close to the artist. Very sad all the way around. I remember the older kids saying Mick Jagger killed Brian Jones (of the Rolling Stones) b/c Mick was jealous of Brian. Then it came out that the guy Brian hired to fix his house etc...was never paid. On his deathbed (I forget his name) the construction worker confessed that he did thousands of pounds worth of work on Brians house and Brian never paid him. One day the guy went to his house & Brian happened to be drunk and the guy killed him and he died in the pool I believe. At the time people were amazed and they said Brian was a very good swimmer. Just craziness. I would like to be rich-but not famous. LOL

There is an interview with Jimi on YT. The show is from the 1960's. The guys name is Dick Cavatte. He said to Jimi "How does it feel to be sitting here being the best guitarist in the World?" Jimi said "How about being the best guitarist sitting in this chair right now." Such humility and jeez what a down to Earth guy.

Where I grew up in Fort Lauderdale there was a bar that was kinda run down. I was about 8 years old and always saw this guy with Brown hair hanging around out front. He always said Hi to me. His hair was about down to his neck/shoulder area.It would always be when I had to be home by curfew. Then one day he wasnt there and I never saw him again. I told my friends older Brother and He said "OMG- do you know who that is?" I said no he always says hi to me. He said He was a very famous Bass player all over the World. I just knew about pianos & guitars. Then the older Brother told me he was beaten up and killed. I never rode my bike home that way ever again. I thought I would get killed.

Hendrix was planning on starting a supergroup which would have combined classical music with rock, R & B, and jazz. So he contacted Keith Emerson of the Nice, Greg Lake of King Crismon and Carl Palmer of Atomic Rooster to make it happen. The foursome had yet to come up with a band name when Hendrix died and Emerson, Lake and Palmer vowed to forge ahead as a trio using their last names as their band name respectively. "From The Beginning" from the 1972 album "Trilogy" was dedicated to Hendrix.

Someone loaned me a book by a woman called Rachel something or maybe it was something Rachels who was a professional photographer who had befriended Jimi Hendrix and it was the most profound, explicit and thorough book I've ever read on this subject
She felt that he had committed suicide in a way…
By that she meant that he was so rundown; so pulled apart by so many people and one thing that he had taken to making half-hearted risky attempts on his life and IF he woke up then it was meant to be that he should plough on With his lifestyle and IF he didn't wake up then he had an eternal rest and recuperation from his outrageously hectic unrelenting life
For me, I felt that rung true

No one needed to murder Hendricks, he had already had several OD's and near death misses as people were downing massive quantities of LSD and heroin and dropping like flies. So many musicians were given really powerful drugs by fans and were pressured to be higher and higher. Keith Richards wrote that John Lennon's body was too finely balanced to do drugs and he would always "turn absolutely green" and spend every visit to the Stones in the bathroom, throwing up and passing out. Keith said he was with them the first time he tried heroin, keith always insisted that he thought Lennon would die from an overdose, especially after his good friend Graham Parsons overdosed. Lennon just didn't have the system to deal with abuse like trying to keep up with everyone else.

plus (1) he flipped right-hand guitar over BUT DID NOT RESTRING for a lefty. The heavy strings this were on the botton (& not on the top ) (2) he was also blessed by his CREATOR with a long thumb (looked more like a 6th finger) & had the longest grip over anyone else.

@@pmcclaren1interesting fact: Jimi's father Al was born with 6 fingers on each hand. A writer said that Al's hands were huge, as if they belonged on a much bigger man. Al Hendrix was only 5'6". Jimi was 5'10 1/2 and believed he inherited his long fingers from his mother, but it seems both of his parents were gifted with unusually long fingers/hands.
Jimi was definitely gifted. Also, my mother told me numerous times that left-handed people are naturally very smart. Quite a few US presidents have been left handed❣️
