Consultant or HR and perhaps some tips and tricks for doing it in a good way...thanks

    Hi !! Another informative and a very helpful video!.. thank u so much for the efforts u guys put in for ppl u dont really know or merely know..♥️ the following questions might seem kinda silly ..but i really don't know how it all works there.
    How can we ask the HR about the job hours?
    And when do we ask him/her about the hours? Before or after the interview?
    Can we decline the offer if we dont like how the hrs and rota is laid?.
    Thanks in advance 😁. Stay blessed 😇 Ibreez and Ibrahim.

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our pleasure! You can ask during the interview if you'd like and it seems appropriate, but even asking after once you've gotten an offer is not a bad idea. Please also see: roadtouk.com/blog/the-interview-finalizing-your-first-nhs-job/

    So how much are you restricted in hours to work in the UK? I understand 20 hours is the max if you go to another hospital to pick up hours. So is there a standard in the number of max hours a person can make within a pay period or month, year week etc? It sounds alot like the Pharoah call center jobs in the US. Is this Call center Doctors work in a clinical form?

    • @rashpalcheema175

      Good question. There is extra pay but only in/near London (called the London weighting). There may be slight regional differences across the UK but not very significant and certainly not to the level of London.

    • @RoadToUK

      Yes, as mentioned, there is London weighting. Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and England have different basic pay rates, but these tend to reflective how expensive the areas are as well.

    Sir, thanks for nice information, kindly tell does NHS doctors get resident facilities from NHS or one have to live at rent?
    If we stay at rent then do we get HRA (House Rent Allowance).
    Specially for ST3 level.

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some hospitals offer accommodation at a cost, but they can be limited and have some restrictions (such as no children, etc). In the UK, housing allowance is only for those who do not make enough salary on their own and require government help (benefits).

  • @mariusrulz
    @mariusrulz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very informative . How much would an ST3 doctor make approximately , working a similar rota as the one you depicted in your video??? (with enhancement and unsocial hours included )

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This varies heavily on the rota. An ST3 in one department may do more unsocial/on-calls than another, hence they would be paid more, but on average, you can expect to add 30-40% ontop of your basic.

    General medicine or paediatrics- which specialty is easy to get into specialty training and has hectic life?
    Can I do adult medicine like cardiology, neurology etc., in UK after Paediatric training and MRCPCH?

    • @RoadToUK

      Adult medicine requires MRCP. Gen med would require a specialization alongside, not just gen med. Regardless, competition is merit based, so depending on your portfolio, you can apply for whatever you wish.

      You are paid through the duration of your on-call shift. Some on-calls require you to be onsite but some don't. Regardless of if you are actually called, you still get paid.

I heard those who have done internship in home country can only go through Standalone Fy 2 and not as Fy1.Also what are the chances of getting into a surgical speciality provided one works hard for it? Is there any bias as to who is chosen I.e. UK national or IMG ? And what ACTUALLY is training or non training jobs ? Kindly answer

      The pay is based on your training level, not your specialty. If you are at the first stage of internal medicine training, that is equivalent to CT1/ST1 pay.

    Love from BANGLADESH

    • @RoadToUK
      @RoadToUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      MRCP is an exam. You register and book it online and you take part in it. Registration process will ask whether you are GMC registered or not, trainee or not and that's how they will know who you are.
      Passing an exam doesn’t increase your salary. You have to take another job with higher pay to get an increase in salary.
