Jared, I know you record these early so you probably won't see this in time, but you should really just explore Maridia. The randomizer algorithm means you won't ever need to enter a hot place without the Varia suit, meaning you won't find anything useful in Norfair quite yet. However, between gravity suit and space jump boots, you have pretty much everything you need to explore Maridia to its fullest and even defeat Draygon (though without the grapple beam you'll need to do it the hard way). And within Maridia there are as many - if not more - places for items as in Norfair, so you have a good chance of finding something that will help you progress further - possibly (probably, at this point) even the Varia suit.
I mean he is aslo missing at least 4 items in the Wrecked Ship so he wont be progressing too far until he figures that out. The pain is almost getting hard to watch but not quite.
I wonder how long it will take him to find out he left an item in that cave early on in this series. He picked up all the chests back in that early episode but didn't talk to the guy who also gives you an item.
I think I'm going to post and edit this list each upload to try and keep track of item locations that are missed. Locations will be of areas that Jared has been to but skipped for one reason or another. So I won't list locations he hasn't been to somewhat limit spoilers. Btw Jared, I'm having a great time watching this! mushroom on death mountain -2 items in kakariko village- 1 item in the seaside cave(mini-moldorm cave)*talk to guy Brinstar(Only wave gate item and upper red tower items left) 1 item in Crateria -1 chest in the first area of Thieves Town Dungeon.- Digging game 2 chests in dark maze in Palace of Darkness 1 item in sandy false wall in Maridia 2 items in room he passed but hasn't gone to in Maridia 4 items in location he was close to but passed in Maridia rest are on the way to the Maridia boss, I'll list them when he passes them 1 item in Wrecked Ship bomb-able wall 1 item in super missile block in wrecked ship exit(technically Crateria) rest of wrecked ship items are on the way to gravity room Space jump get! -Xray location available!- Blue mail will become red mail.
i like that someone is keeping track of his items he is walking by. His knowledge is average or so on the games. hopefully he reads the comments and figures out what he missed. He may need more detail to understand exactly where though. I watch speed runs of this randomizer all the time and play it myself. so i know when you are playing it can be quite hard to remember where you need to go and skip over things if you do not have lots of experiance with it
Hopefully he gets the xray soon, that'll help him greatly. I'm not sure how far ahead he is so I'm not sure if this list will help him any, to be honest it's more for me so I remember what he missed. I think I remember that he doesn't really appreciate being told exactly what to do in games so I try to be vague in Metroid areas so he can still feel like he's exploring even if he sees my list.
I wound up picking up a Super Metroid randomizer for kicks. Life is suffering because though I've got maximum fire power and defense, I've only got five energy tanks and no movement abilities outside of the Hi-Jump
@@dreddbolt Thankfully, not long after this video, got the Speed Booster and Space Jump, but I'm still down normal Bombs/Spring Ball and the Screw Attack.
I tried a randomiser run. I had so much trouble finding the Morph Ball that I decided to try out Zelda's "Quick Ending" glitch. Instead of getting an ending, I was sent to the Dark World Pyramid. There, I found the Morph Ball where a Heart Piece usually would be. Maybe you'll find something useful there too. xD
Finds blue mail in generous guy's cave, and then Jared breaks. There is still a few things in zelda that you have over looked. You can also go to the digging fields and get an item there as well, like the 15th dig is a guaranteed item. You do need to look through the comments if you can and let people point out places you missed too. Other wise you are gonna drive your self batty trying to find everything.
Dear Future ProJared. You can quickly escape the dark world by hitting select and Save and Quit. When you open your save file youll go back to the Light World
@@figmentpez altough a bit mean, I enjoy it a bit more seeing Jared play "by the rules" rather than the usual speedrun strats. Was just thinking that usually when Aghanim is dead save and quit from Dark World boots you directly to the Pyramid, and then he would need to go DW Lake -> Maridia -> Norfair -> LW Death Mountain to be able to return to Light World. But maybe it doesn't boot you to Pyramid if you don't have the Mirror. Would be even meaner to enjoy that if he doesn't remember where to find the Maridia cave tho
How the heck is saving and quitting "against the rules"? It's an option that was programmed into the game, and all it does is save you time by cutting out backtracking and keeping you from softlocking yourself. There is literally no benefit to _not_ using it, at all.
as someone who has played neither of these games, watching Jared's reaction to getting trash items is the most entertaining thing I've seen in a while.
Loving this run, Jared! I’m happy I’ve only played Super Metroid once so I get to relearn where all the items are along with you. Can’t wait to see how this pans out. And please let Miss Editor know that she’s doing a great job!
JARED, YOU CAN NOT SOFT LOCK YOUR SELF IN ALTTP! YOU CAN SAVE AND QUIT AND RELOAD IN THE LIGHT WORLD!!!! also, with the blue mail, the randomizer uses a progressive system, meaning there are armor upgrades and attack upgrades, so the blue mail is now the red mail, the next sword you find will be the lv 3 sword. and still GO BACK TO MINI MOLDORM CAVE IN LIGHT WORLD AND TALK TO GUY YOU MISSED HIS ITEM!!!!!!
Come on lad, you need just like one legit item, the game can't continue to throw arrows and rupees and missiles at you forever. I bet there's one cave or dungeon or bit of space ship that's got like the glove upgrade, the heat suit and the bow....and then you're just swimming in options. Don't give up, power through!

Everyone else has already said it, but the armor on Spectacle Rock is simply an "Armor Upgrade". This applies to swords, shields, and gloves as well. It is simply a +1 to whatever you already have. You didn't have a sword, so you found a sword upgrade, giving you the white sword. After that you found the Master sword (+2). Same with shield and now armor. You already had the green mail, so now you found the blue mail. If you go to Spectacle Rock again, you'll find the Red Mail there. (Go back to Spectacle Rock anyway, drop down and get the shroom from cave below).
The blue mail on Specital rock changed to the red mail now, and if you jump down to just outside of the cave there you can get the mushroom. Also the guy in the cafe that you have to open the back by killing the worms (Mini Mordorms) has and item for you as well. Either the item you get from the witch for the mushroom or the item from the guy could be the bow or the mirror, or maybe even both of them.
Another tip: use an item tracker. I don’t really need to know what I have anymore, but keeping track of what locations I have been cleared out is important to track down what I might’ve missed. Like talking to a thief in the moldsmol cave.
Not sure if anyone’s mentioned this, Jared. You do NOT have to die to get back to the Light World. Simply saving and quitting works. In the same vein - you can always get back to Samus’s ship by resetting (the game always starts in Super Metroid).
Jared, there are like three items you missed in the wrecked ship that you should be able to get to with ease, starting in the upper area with the double room you thought you couldn't get to inside, leading to the chozo that breaks the spikes and a phone spark to the item you could see but not get to due to a blocked path.
Coming back to this mid 2021. I recently found you. You're much more animated in this than you are now. I like both current and past jared equally in different ways
7:53 without the Grappling Beam, the only way to that area (Spring Ball normally) is by using the Ice Beam to freeze an enemy at a certain height and use it to clip through the floor. That's another trick the Hard logic setting can expect. 25:30 You're in a different part of the dark world now. Also there's an item on the pyramid you skipped.
Just a pointer, the points where you swap between lank and Samus are locational. you can use the other character to traverse areas you wouldn't be able to get to. E.X. using samus to get link out of the dark world

The fake wall/tunnel is just an exit from somewhere else if I recall. 1:37 Normally the X-Ray Scope (to add insult to injury). 2:56 Charge station two rooms to the left. ;) 4:12 Since you got into Maridia from elsewhere I've been curious if a power bomb will still shatter the glass from the outside... brb doing science.
Remember, you're never truly trapped forever in LttP. You can always hit select and hit save and quit.. when you re-load, as long as you were outside when you saved, you'll get the standard spawn options.
You had to beat Agahnim in order to get an item behind the lumberjack's house. Though I think you still need the boots for it so it doesn't help too much right away. Either way it had to be done. Also you need to go back to the sunken ship. There are at least like 4 items you are still missing from there in hidden passages.
Jared you can do it man, just keep at it! Hell I’d probably be stuck on all the Zelda stuff cause (shamefully) I’ve never played link to the past through its entirety
After beating Ag you can use Hyrule gate to go to the DW. Also, since you have the hammer, normally from DW #1, you can get around mostly free in the dark world.
Thank you for continuing to make content. Your channel is legitimately the only thing keeping me sane during finals. Also, Miss Editor, he said mirror. You have to use the mirror to get to that dungeoun
Jared, there was an item on the side of the pyramid that you didnt even check. You can dive into several dark world palaces without finishing them. Keep up the good work.
He got the item on the pyramid in a previous episode and the only dungeon he can get into with the items he currently has is the third dark world dungeon
I like how Miss Editor was intrigued enough to know what Jared muffley shouted into his palms. If you don't already know he said "Book" Miss Editor. Somethings require you to translate ancient texts with it.
The randomizer works in a way that you it works in "upgrades" form. Like you find the sword lvl1, then lvl2, then lvl 3 and it doesnt matter wich item you find in the world, it will always just upgrade. If you go to the spot where the tunic is, you'll now see it as the red tunic. The only reason you got the red shield is because you bought a blue one and it upgraded when you opened the chest. If you didnt have a shield at that moment you'd get a blue one.
yeah they did that cause getting red mail and then later downgrading and losing defense to blue mail would be really stupid, also looks super sloppy from a coding side of things, Just be happy they have that for swords, No one wants to find butter sword instantly only to get fighter sword 5 minutes later and be stuck with it for 2 hours+ lol
Save/Quit in (my version at least) in LttP lets you start at the house, sanc, or the mountain pass. Its a real roundabout way to go from Dark to light, but you wont be stuck!
I'm just as baffled as well at the two Blue Mails. Idk if this is ordinary in the SM/LttP combo one but I've never seen it in happen in regular LttP Randomizer. Also I'm pretty sure you can get the Mushroom by jumping onto the ledge directly in front of the Spectacle Rock cave door and going inside the door there.
I'm sure you've figured this out by the time of reading this Jared, but upgrades like the sword or the mail are set to be progressive. That means you will always get the blue mail before the red mail. Basically, the blue mail you saw before will just turn into the red mail.
The only reason to beat aganim is for the lumberjacks to finish cutting the tree The mail scales. You will always obtain the blue mail first now the mail on dm is the red mail
a few things i noticed as i've been watching , 1. You forgot to talk to the thief at the mini moldorm cave , 2. missed the dig Game in the far west of darkworld , 3. The Dark Room in Palace of Darkness has 2 little chests + 1 big chest. , 4. To get the Mushroom below spectical Rock, at the specital rock cave entrance, just walk straight down and jump down from the ledge & 5. More recently You could check the lumberjack tree near the lost woods... Hope this helps.
I believe the blue and red mail spawn in sequence. Don’t have the blue mail, and the ordinary red mail spot will give you the blue mail. Not sure though.
Got a few tricks for you in Metroid. First, have charge beam and one other beam type (ice, wave or plasma) then have power bombs selected and fire a charged up blast Next, with only 30 energy and then 10 missiles, 10 super missiles and 11 power bombs, select Powerbombs, hold L,R, Down and lay a power bomb at the same time
Reminders: Visit the boy in the dark world to get what would be the shovel, go back to the cave southwest of the lake in the light world to talk to the NPC in there with the 4 chests, he will give thing. Also you could still save and quit to get out of the dark world.
in the original game it dark world 5 that the armor is from. Specticle rock was the red staff this time I believe and turtle rock normally has mirror shield. theirs still plenty of caves and temples to enter and explore partially.
don´t be afraid of the dark world. you can save and quit in zelda to get back to the light world and there are a ton of treasures in the dark world you need absolutly nothing to get them. From there just try how far you get in the temples. For Meridia there are 3 items you can get Right now without sequencebreaking (hint invisible passages, no bombs required)
Swords, Mails, Gloves, and Shields are progressive. You find one. Then the other upgrades also.

I mean he is aslo missing at least 4 items in the Wrecked Ship so he wont be progressing too far until he figures that out. The pain is almost getting hard to watch but not quite.
*checks last chest in cave* *item fanfare* Jared: "the blue mail?!"
*frantically checks notes*
"isnt that on spectacle rock?"
*mind blows*
I doubt the darkness is of any issue to you Jared.
That's 10 arrows.
I wonder how long it will take him to find out he left an item in that cave early on in this series. He picked up all the chests back in that early episode but didn't talk to the guy who also gives you an item.
I have money its a major progression item
I'm waiting for that item to be the morph bombs for Sam
I've got shitloads of energy tanks, but only the wave beam lmao
probably mirror
I love these Jared, seriously you're the only "let's play" style youtuber I can watch consistently. Thanks for making these =)
This week, on ProJared Plays Badly. :D lol

Who noticed Ms. Editor skipped 11 on the death counter? Huh.
Game King Must have been a quick one.
@@Im-Not-a-Dog Would of been nice to see that one then.
Game King
Starts Game, dies instantly.
“FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!”
I saw it, and had to go back to #10 just to be sure it wasn't I whom made the mistake.
@@gurvmlk *who
I think I'm going to post and edit this list each upload to try and keep track of item locations that are missed.
Locations will be of areas that Jared has been to but skipped for one reason or another. So I won't list locations he hasn't been to somewhat limit spoilers. Btw Jared, I'm having a great time watching this!
mushroom on death mountain
-2 items in kakariko village-
1 item in the seaside cave(mini-moldorm cave)*talk to guy
Brinstar(Only wave gate item and upper red tower items left)
1 item in Crateria
-1 chest in the first area of Thieves Town Dungeon.-
Digging game
2 chests in dark maze in Palace of Darkness
1 item in sandy false wall in Maridia
2 items in room he passed but hasn't gone to in Maridia
4 items in location he was close to but passed in Maridia
rest are on the way to the Maridia boss, I'll list them when he passes them
1 item in Wrecked Ship bomb-able wall
1 item in super missile block in wrecked ship exit(technically Crateria)
rest of wrecked ship items are on the way to gravity room
Space jump get! -Xray location available!-
Blue mail will become red mail.
i like that someone is keeping track of his items he is walking by.
Wall jumps and the mach ball rolling glitch. I was quite pleased when I learned those quality of life maneuvers.
Maybe you'll find something useful there too. xD
So Jared keeps killing himself in LttP when all he needs to do is press select.
Same thing like the other Randomizer, Jared, tiered upgrades come in +1 increases, which means you will always get the lower ones first.
When you open your save file youll go back to the Light World
Also, Save and Quit can be a means of fast travel, especially before getting the flute.
Jared's exotensional crisis at the end is pretty funny.
There's usually a heart piece on the Pyramid. So maybe something else?
He might have gotten that one already? Or maybe I’m just remembering the ALTTP randomizer.
Nah, he already got that one, I think. It was an Energy Tank(?).
He already got that item.
Wasn't there also a fairy who gives you silver arrows?
@@hugofontes5708 Yes but you need the Super Bomb to reach her.
By far my favorite series. My two favorite games in one!!! Jackpot!
Miss Editor is a national treasure. i love how blind she is to these games and it is precious.
as someone who has played neither of these games, watching Jared's reaction to getting trash items is the most entertaining thing I've seen in a while.
Loving this run, Jared! I’m happy I’ve only played Super Metroid once so I get to relearn where all the items are along with you. Can’t wait to see how this pans out. And please let Miss Editor know that she’s doing a great job!
“A bow! A bow! All of Hyrule Kingdom for a freakin’ bow!”
The Time Capsule bruh moment
Come on lad, you need just like one legit item, the game can't continue to throw arrows and rupees and missiles at you forever. I bet there's one cave or dungeon or bit of space ship that's got like the glove upgrade, the heat suit and the bow....and then you're just swimming in options. Don't give up, power through!
You know he's just faking it, right? For more views? You think he regularly walks around talking like a child?
I'm betting on digging minigame

5: fuck off
He does show quite a few toxic masculinity habits for someone who has so many effeminate tendicies
@@alphatripduce maybe he's a switch?
He really should read how items function and what the randomizer really does to the game before he starts one... to avoid looking like an idiot.
@@TheUltimateRare I think that's one thing that makes these funny and fun to watch though.
@@pai009 well yeah. that idea did come in my head too.
Another tip: use an item tracker. I don’t really need to know what I have anymore, but keeping track of what locations I have been cleared out is important to track down what I might’ve missed. Like talking to a thief in the moldsmol cave.
Jared, you can click select in LTTP in the light or Dark World to save and quit to be able to start in the Light World area selection screen.
E.X. using samus to get link out of the dark world
I've been enjoying this series so much. I find myself waiting for the new upload each day.
15:42 Ok, those rocks with lava are totally pancakes with butter and syrup, and you can't convince me otherwise.
i like how he's like " I know there's something in one of these areas " meaning those glass walkway things then goes right past it
The sword, mail, and boomerang are incremental upgrades. The first one you pick up will always be the lower level in the randomized version.
I'd love to see a Secret of Mana / Secret of Evermore ranomizer. Please gaming gods, make it happen!
The end with the 2 tunics killed me. Jared broke.
his brain was like "but blue... blue there... blue here.. JARED MUCH CONFUSED?!"
I look forward to these every day. I can't stand watching twitch streams, but your entertaining because your playing 2 of my all-time favorite games from my childhood. I can feel yourfrustration the screen. Keep it up
Jared as soon as I heard those windows plugging and unplugging noises, I knew, and I felt your pain.
More Jared suffering...let me grab the popcorn! (love ya Jared, Miss editor your hard work is not forgotten!)
Definitely a challenging randomizer. Keep your chin up, dude
So judging by the comments this randomizer's alt title is 'zelda/metroid randomized but I didn't read the rules'
Keep up the good work Jared, you'll run out of rupees and missiles eventually
0:30 You're thinking of a different spot by lower-Brinstar's elevator. The fake wall/tunnel is just an exit from somewhere else if I recall.
1:37 Normally the X-Ray Scope (to add insult to injury).
2:56 Charge station two rooms to the left. ;)
4:12 Since you got into Maridia from elsewhere I've been curious if a power bomb will still shatter the glass from the outside... brb doing science.
Remember defeating him triggers the overworld stuff.
Remember, you're never truly trapped forever in LttP. You can always hit select and hit save and quit.. when you re-load, as long as you were outside when you saved, you'll get the standard spawn options.
Jared is going to turn into the Joker at this rate.
*"Mirror... MIRROR!"*
You had to beat Agahnim in order to get an item behind the lumberjack's house. Though I think you still need the boots for it so it doesn't help too much right away. Either way it had to be done. Also you need to go back to the sunken ship. There are at least like 4 items you are still missing from there in hidden passages.
There’s also plenty of places to explore in Maridia since you have speed booster, space jump and gravity suit.
blue mail, improved shield, master sword. you're doing better now, at least, even if obviously the bow would make so many things easier.
Jared...you can save and quit in ALttP by using select. XD *pats* don't lose your mind! You got this!!
This game makes me really appreciate when they added doors to the map later in the series.
Rest in peace to the dead scientist eternally chillin in the bottom right corner
Jared you can do it man, just keep at it! Hell I’d probably be stuck on all the Zelda stuff cause (shamefully) I’ve never played link to the past through its entirety
Man, in that Aga1 fight Jared got blue balled a lot.
If you didnt have a shield at that moment you'd get a blue one.
yeah they did that cause getting red mail and then later downgrading and losing defense to blue mail would be really stupid, also looks super sloppy from a coding side of things,
Just be happy they have that for swords, No one wants to find butter sword instantly only to get fighter sword 5 minutes later and be stuck with it for 2 hours+ lol
Fighting the wizard (I’m not gonna try to spell his name) is the way of briefy escaping the inevitable pain of finding nothing
Beating Agahnim gives you access to the chest that you get to by bonking the tree that the woodcutters were cutting.
Save/Quit in (my version at least) in LttP lets you start at the house, sanc, or the mountain pass. Its a real roundabout way to go from Dark to light, but you wont be stuck!
"Hello darkness, my old friend...I've come to ta-BLERK!"
I’d love to see you take on Neverwinter Nights if you haven’t already.
There is a high chance his character will be a thief.
Schwarzer Ritter Remember the “Dark Diath” from that one episode of DCA where they got attack by their clones? That would be a good character set up.
I'm sure you've figured this out by the time of reading this Jared, but upgrades like the sword or the mail are set to be progressive. That means you will always get the blue mail before the red mail. Basically, the blue mail you saw before will just turn into the red mail.
16:40 That's a mood right there.
Jared, you got the Space Jump and gravity suit, maybe Maridia is your better chance now, that or the Haunted Woods
I am loving this playthrough!
I recommend anyone interested in this to watch the races on SpeedGaming every Sunday and Monday.
The only reason to beat aganim is for the lumberjacks to finish cutting the tree
The mail scales.
The genuine confusion on his face 💕
Someone get that man a drink. He could really use one right about now. 🍺
Doing stuff in both games in one episode. Noice.
I was thinking of what to watch while I had lunch. This is perfect
Jared you can save and load out of the dark world.
I believe the blue and red mail spawn in sequence. Don’t have the blue mail, and the ordinary red mail spot will give you the blue mail. Not sure though.
Got a few tricks for you in Metroid. First, have charge beam and one other beam type (ice, wave or plasma) then have power bombs selected and fire a charged up blast
Next, with only 30 energy and then 10 missiles, 10 super missiles and 11 power bombs, select Powerbombs, hold L,R, Down and lay a power bomb at the same time
Pretty sure beating Agahnim opened up the woodcutters, so that's one extra thing you can do now at least.
Poor Jared first the bombs now his controller 😂 he can’t catch a break
Reminders: Visit the boy in the dark world to get what would be the shovel, go back to the cave southwest of the lake in the light world to talk to the NPC in there with the 4 chests, he will give thing. Also you could still save and quit to get out of the dark world.
The most exciting time of the day has arrived!
in the original game it dark world 5 that the armor is from.
