    From Deep Purple's 1974 album, " Burn" this song opens full throttle, with a killer riff. 🎸🎸
    Ian Paice who has played on every Deep Purple album, joined by the phenomenal interplay of Lord and Blackmore, [phenomenal], with Glen Hughes and David Cloverdale alternating on the vocals, this is an unbelievable hard rock and Blues, meet funkiness, song. So groovy. 🎶🎶🎸🎸
    Great reaction Harri, stay well my bestie. ❤
    Great old rocking tune Anne. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada ❤❤🇨🇦🇨🇦

    Ian Paice - what a musician! Of all the ol' skool hard rock drummers, he is the most sophisticated, technically way up there with the prog guys and with musicality very rare in this genre's drummers. Totally awesome! I sometimes try out the Burn fills and breaks but always end up messing around the toms when I should follow Ian and focus on the snare - but I don't quite have his immaculate stick technique! Oh whew....

      Now you need to watch YOYOKA playing this drum part. Ian Paice did and thoroughly approved. You'll find it easily enough here on TH-cam. By the way she was 11 at the time.

    Thank you so much Harri and hopefully I haven't sent you back to your sick bed. I saw these guys again on Saturday and it was truly a bucket list event for me. Ian Gillan, Ian Paice and Roger Glover are the early members of the band playing today. They've found a great guitarist, Simon McBride, and fabulous keyboards from Don Airey, although there will never be another Jon Lord. Lord's keyboards are one of the highlights of this one for me. I've loved Deep Purple as long as I can remember with all the various line ups and this is one of my very favorite songs.

    I was introduced to this and a load of other Deep Purple songs as a fresh faced 14 year old by a guitar player I had just formed a band with who suggested we play it as a cover, I didn't realise what an amazing guitar player he was but I guess its fair to say that I cut my chops on the likes of Gillan and Coverdale.

  • @garryokeefe1605

    The "Paice" of this track is even faster than 'Flight of the Rat' but the killer riff and that fantastic Blackmore guitar solo is hard to equal, then great vocals Jon Lord on organ with beautifully rock and classic overtones makes a great accompaniment.All the band are so tight on this one including that overlooked bass - and they had to be on the money. It was'Devil's Spawn' Harry!

  • @larteonceagain
    @larteonceagain 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Well, it's true that you can hear classical references in the solo. Lord and Blackmore studied classical music in their youth and Lord wrote a lot of classical music. Their hero was as for many hard rockers Bach. And there's a Bach-esque sequence in the underlying of the solo. This is only one if two solos that were written, the other is Highway Star. Otherwise every solo you hear in Purple's music is improvised.
