Now i agree with you talking about gatekeeping. But sometimes i feel like it's essential. I'm talking about the classic "respect all builds" bro when he owns a bone stock honda civic and saying it's a stance build because he put some bricks in it to make it lower. This goes for many dudes of this kind who tryna fake it and gatekeeping is essential in these examples

That's fair that's fair, I feel like at that point it's more of calling someone's bs than gatekeeping though. Like I don't like to gatekeep, but I've been in those conversations with someone who's lying about their car for no reason and although none of us said anything, it definitely wasn't cool
So many people on Camaro Forums gatekeep. My first Camaro was a 2018 hyper blue metallic Camaro LT which is a V6 trim and people who weren't even part of the V6 forum on Facebook would just post saying to get a V8 in that the V6 was a fake muscle car. The v6s are nimble and still excellent cars but I did eventually trade up to a V8
I got the same shit when I bought my 2013 Base Mustang, I still enjoyed it. modified it and didn't take out any crowds.
I mean, when was the last time any modern Camaro was considered muscle really? I think it's contradicting in every situation.
That's messed up man, some people just don't have better stuff to do with their time but as long as you enjoyed it, that's all that matters

Was talking to a guy with a 2008 BMW 328xi or whatever fucking letter it is, but he asked me how many turbos I got (I have a 96 Mustang GT). I said zero, and he just said "Sounds like I got two more turbos than you". Damn, my car is over 20 years old and can still keep up with you somewhat, I hate people that act like it's all about the turbos, they're fine but holy shit they turbo everything these days.
All that for 15 more horsepower and he weighs 2-300lb more lmao. I feel like that'd be a lame but laughable joke from a friend or somethin who's just kidding around but from some random guy that's just weird😂 Your engine also sounds WAY better IMO, I definitely admire turbos and I think they're cool but I don't like how much they muffle an exhaust and how they sound compared to NA or supercharged, that's just me though

no yeah, gatekeeping at high school is bad. I was shamed for not buying an e63 amg rather than just buying a e350. Its like have you seen the financial crisis those are for a high schooler. Gas, initial price, the list goes on. Its like just let me enjoy the fact that i already am one of the few at our school that do drive a mercedes benz

7:48 this sort of happened to me. I was with my friends cruising in the left lane a little faster than everyone. I notice a guy driving faster than me, there was a car ahead of me to the right. I slow down to let this guy merge into the left thinking he was passing both of us. For no reason, this guy matches speeds with the guy on the right so I couldn’t even pass. It’s dangerous but I would’ve been justified to tailgate but I didn’t. I slowed down and continued talking with my boys.
