4K CABVIEW Ljubljana - Jesenice -- 2 locomotives - 1800t iron ore train

- Get a train ride between Ljubljana and Jesenice, central Slovenia and Austrian border. This special train travel takes place using two locomotives traction and a heavy Iron ore freight train. Iron ore is transported by train from the port of Koper on the Adriatic Sea to the city of Linz in Upper Austria. These trains usually have more than 20 wagons and the mass is about 2000t. This is train locomotive cab ride through one of the most important railway corridors in Slovenia. The Slovenian railways perform most of the transport between the port of Koper and Austrian railways, ie border train station Jesenice.
The traction of the train from this video is done using two Siemens ES 64 F4 locomotives, popularly known as Taurus.

Slovenia is a fantastically beautiful country, scenery similar to Switzerland and Austria, which of course are neighbouring countries connected to each other

For a freight train it certainly moved along pretty fast with minimal delays. and impressed with the acceleration. Neat job.
Great views of the mountain range! The rail network is amazing with lines diverging and converging in all different directions. The meets were extremely well timed with short waits for oncoming trains. Thanks for the ride.

Beauty and cleanness of landscape, as well as the modernity of railway infrastructure can be easily compared to that of Switzerland.
Before going on vacation to Portugal tomorrow (by plane) i have watched this beautiful journey from Ljubljana to Jesenice. Another fine scenery to watch with Google Maps open on my second monitor. Wish there was a railscenery for Train Simulator for this so i could drive it myself. Thank you very much for uploading this. Till the next part. Will certainly watch it again.

This just came up on my feed. Im from the UK and before covid used to holiday in Slovenia every year and got this train route from Ljubljana to Jesenice then on to Bled and also Bohinj Bistrica. I've not been since 2019 and miss it so much and hope I get back soon :)

Once upon a time, I did the Curitiba-Paranagua section in a tourist train. Breathtaking. But yes, Brazil could build some modern railway lines, just like the great public transit system in Curitiba.

You're welcome! This signal signs related to the overhead line (contact network). Black on white means the beginning of an isolated wire exchange. Red on white means the end of an isolated wire exchange.

Great video. Enjoyed the ride and love the country. What type of camera is used as it is clear and the wide angle lens does not distort the edges. A little concern of how the person on the ground stand between the cars and the engine as it is approaching at the end of the video. That would be a rules violation and a serious offence in North America.

At the end in Jesenice I can see signs for lowering and raising the pantograph. Is the station the "border" between the austrian and the slovenian electrification system? (similar to how Moravice used to operate until like 2012)

Yes, it is the border station on the Slovenian side. The border tunnel has the Austrian system.

Was this consist destined for a Steelworks in Austria? Koper is clearly a critical port for Austria so it's good Austria and Slovenia work together
