Great reaction! I liked that you picked up on the paneling of the sound. It's iconic to queen and a great homage to queen. Also the sequence with the four shooting stars is also a homage to queen's Brian May background of astrophysics. One star for each queen member. Brian May himself posted Pentatonix' version on his social media with just one word: "Enjoy!" I think that is a pretty big compliment itself. ☺️ great rendition!
Speaking of The Beatles......Pentatonix covered Imagine by John Lennon......breathtaking. Not only their Iconic PTX wall of sound but their message is absolutely spot on. Especially now. It's THE Pentatonix cover I ALWAYS recommend. Trust....its incomparable.
Brian May of Queen sent this out with an “enjoy” attached to it so can’t get better praise than that. I think Freddy is smiling down on this one. They love Queen and wanted this to honor them.
For years in interviews they said they would not do this it was Queen's thing but they knew Avi was leaving and they decided to do it before he left. They also did the Imagine cover that year for the same reason. Kevin did not sing. He was a nationally known instrumentalist both cello and saxaphone with a little piano on the side before Pentatonix. Here is Kevin at 17 on tv playing the saxaphone. th-cam.com/video/cg-WQl3YCVY/w-d-xo.html Avi coached him on singing while they were roommates and he started singing sometimes on videos when beatboxing was not needed. "Run to You" Avi and he wrote as a choral piece with no beatboxing so he sings all the way through in that.
They spent 5 years practicing this song before they finally recorded and released this. Brian May saw this and tweeted, "ENJOY!" I believe Freddie Mercury would be looking down in delight with their homage to the song and Queen.
I've been loving Pentatonix for 10 years. I grew up with Queen but never was very interested in rock music back then. Then in 2020 when the lockdown started I began spending more time on TH-cam, discovered Queen live videos and got hooked. I now own most of their albums. You said you are a Queen fan, but how deep have you gone into their catalog and have you seen their videos? Because if not, it would be great if you reacted to Queen and there's a devoted fan group.
I would have to do live performances, a lot of my albums are gone due to the years of moving, but I will say you should listen to Freddie Mercury opera album if you haven’t. Don’t stop me now is probably my favorite song, A kind of magic is probably my favorite album (grew up a Highlander fan), and innuendo after that. But come to think of if there are some songs I have to revisit
Don’t know why I’m just seeing this? I didn’t get the notification that you dropped it. This was ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 Great reaction! Can’t wait for more!! Recommend “New Rules x Are you that somebody” Dua-Lipa/Aliyah mash-up! Will blow your mind! It will be on your daily playlist, bet! 😉😁 Much ❤️ ~Pentaholic from Louisiana 🐊
Great reaction. Cant wait to see you react on Amazing Grace, Mary did you know, mad world, shallow, say something. the list is long, have fun goin down this rabbit hole. New sub
Loved the reaction. Just saw you get totally lost in the song. Loved it. If you would be so kind, react to Kevin Olusola’s cover (KOver) of Marian Hill’s “Down.” You’ll not only get to hear him sing. But several of his unbelievable talents on display. It will blow you away. For real…. 🤯
You should check out Mitch and Scott under their Superfruit page performing Defying Gravity from the Broadway musical, Wicked, for Scott's birthday. It's one of his favorite musicals.
How are the views on this so low? Its typically one of their highest view counts. Im guessing its maybe a re-upload but its still been 8 days. TH-cam has been weirder than usual lately - haven't watched it yet, about to, I'm sure your reaction will be fantastic 😁
The video got blocked after the premiere because of copywrite claims. I had to dispute it and it held for 2 days. After the 2 day hold it popped back up to the public.
Sorry dude. Stereophonics have been around since at least the 1950s that wasn't a pop rock monopoly. I grew up listening to the Blackwood Brother Quartet. And I remember reading some of the old record covers discussing the miracle of stereo. You might have the lead and tenor coming out of one speaker and bass and baritone out of the other. Sometimes just the lead out of one and harmony out of the other. So that technology and practice WAY preceded the late '70s

That little giggle to Mitch's first guitar solo with the megaphone was the best reaction ever!
Lol thank you
Brian May from Queen had a link to this performance on his fan page. He was impressed.

Not bad for no instruments...
