    I hope all is now okay with your wife. Prayers and well wishes that she is feeling better. Garden Answers did a thing on wheat just recently it was from a small patch she grew. Learned a lot about the process and different flours. The prices on the small mills and the large ones are decent. You can always store flour in the freezer after you mill it. I really hope all is well life is so sad without our loved ones.Just read wife is on the way home. Yes great news...🍞🍕

      Thank you. I just posted in the community section that she is now home and feeling better. Alot of wheat and corn are grown locally so we are looking for a local source eventually. This mill is overkill for our needs but could supply the whole town in an emergency. It was sad to see the reaction by our dog last night when her mom wasn't home. They are both resting now. Thanks for watching.

    We ground grain in the 80's. I remember going to the co-op with my mom to pick up 5 gallon buckets of peanut butter, powered milk, whole grain etc...
    It was one of my chores each week to grind the grain and make bread...
    I can cook and bake because of my mom. ❤

      Thank you. She just came home and is feeling better. They could not pinpoint exactly what caused it, but suspect the extensive dental work with anesthesia she had a couple days before may have triggered it. They saw no cardiac damage so hopefully after some rest she will be fine. Thanks for watching .

      We have wanted to try this for a while and glad we finally got to it. This is my first try so probably not doing everything right but the flour looks nice. This grinder is definitely overkill for us but in an emergency could feed an army with a wheat or corn supply. Many smaller models available also. Do some research to find the best mill for you. Can't wait to finish up the grinding and get baking. Wheat berries will store 25 years unground so looking for a good affordable supply now. Wheat shortages are very close to reality lately. Hopefully I can finish up the second part soon. Thanks for watching.

      @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Hi 👋 glad to hear 👂, the Boss is back home, and doing well, There is something very strange going on with replies coming back from people that I’ve sent messages to on TH-cam, I’ve stopped getting notification for some unknown reason so the only way I can find out if you or someone else replied, is going back to previous TH-cam tutorials like I’ve just done for you, it obviously sent a message back that you replying to my comment, but It hadn’t shown up in part of a reply system. Curious to know why you went with such a large commercial grinder for home use? I'm all for getting the best tool I can, but found that a Mockmill does great for the volumes I need for home baking.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because I wanted to try it and see how it worked. I looked at the small counter top mills first but the ones that could regrind finer were pretty slow. The commercial rated mockmill was $200 more then this. This one can also crack corn for animal feed. In an emergency this could feed the whole town. Someday I would like to get a good stone mill but they were too expensive to get started with. Thanks for watching.

    Any advice on initial dial setting? Just received mine and before I power it up want to make sure it's backed off enough to not grind the discs. Then waste a bunch of rice or corn to get it dialed in.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I backed mine off and switched it on and off fast to be sure they didn't rub. I think rice is best for cleaning and setting the grind. For fine flour it sounds like they are kissing before the wheat berries are added. Corn I have found it is easier to grind coarse and remove the outer shell parts with wind and sisters then do the fine grind. Have fun. I have an idea for 3d printing a container lid with a built in filter to catch the dust eventually. Thanks for watching.

    Do the grinding plates wear down/out overtime ?

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I think they will as grains are abrasive. Like all mills after a couple thousand pounds they may need replacing. Do not adjust them so fine that they contact or you will see accelerated wear and possibly metal chips. Plus check all grains for stones and contaminants that can damage them instantly. Clean grain is a must with any mill. Mine came with an extra set. Thanks for watching.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 I tried with generic one so it worked for some time and then we got a dedicated 20 am circuit. It tried to start - but does not and trigger main circuit locks - you see that red thing in the main switch shows up. So I have to switch off the alert then try again.
      Thanks for responding. Appreciate it.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That doesn't sound right. Be sure the wire size run to the outlet is 12awg for up to 50 feet run and 10 awg for a longer run with a 20 amp breaker at the box. Verify you have approx 120 volts coming from the street. Be sure the grinding chamber is empty and the burr plates are not touching and are clean. Be sure the new outlet isn't one of the cheap Chinese ones. Contact Vevor if that's all good because I have never had that light come on.

    You said 300W but the label said 3 KW. That’s nearly 30 Amps at 110V assuming a power factor of 1.0

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes its 3000w. That's why it didn't come with a plug. I used a 30 amp RV plug but the instructions call for a 45 amp breaker so when I permanently install a plug it will probably switch to a 50 amp circuit. I have to check it with my clamp meter because that would mean about 3 hp. Its a commercial machine made for about 60 kg an hour. Thanks for watching.
