I got one yesterday. My front yard of leaf blowing and bagging usually takes 8 to 9 hours....with the troy built leaf vacuum it took 3.5 hours....i was impressed.
Thank you for sharing your testimony! I will say that this is an exceptional machine for those 1/4-1/2acre yards! Make sure to check out the other videos on this channel! Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I have the Craftsman self-propelled version of this that I found in the trash. If you do get a lot leaves empty the bag frequently so they don't get compacted into the bag. Also if you're picking up pine straw with it it will not shred the pine straw but it will pick it up perfectly fine.
There's a small chipper chute on the right hand side of the machine. I was hoping to see that used since I would be more inclined to buy one since it has one of those for small branches.
I have the same on but built by Craftsman. I have an acre or property and I've used it minus the shredder bag for the last 18 years. It has withstand time and a lot of abuse. If you use that bag then you will be there for ever. I have space on the sides of my property where I blow the leaves to. Then once settled I come back and use the shredder option to reduce the height of the leaves. But 18 years ago Sears stuff lasted for ever. Not sure if this machine is built by the same company and then added label of Troybuilt, but the machines seems to be identical. The only thing that can make it better is if it was all wheel drive and had a reverse gear. The machine isn't light so a good workout is at hand with larger properties.
Thanks for your input! The only two things I hate about this machine is 1) The bag attachment has to be pushing through button to engage te motor. 2) The bag design was kind of bad. I would say only good for dumping into a huge trash can or dumpster. Thanks for watching! Make sure to SUBSCRIBE to learn more! There is a lot more content on the way! God Bless!!
I have the Cub Crapet version, Disaappointed with it. Don't think these are built for commercail use @ all. Not gunna list all the issue i have had with mine over the 7 years, unless someone here really wants me too. lol
Could be the compression of the motor is not good like it used to be or the vacuum needs to be set a little lower to the ground. Hope that helps! God Bless!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@mylawnbarber Someone local is selling a 060 for $300 and it looks new. I think I'll try and get it a bit lower and go grab it. They are discounted right now on Troy Bilt's site for $599.
It shouldn't have a problem with chainsaw shavings. I just picked one of these up recently that are on clearance at Menards. I have some hydrangea plants in our yard that are turning brown, I was able to use the 4" suction nozzle to get the head of the plant into it and then clip it off with small pruning shears and chipped them up no problem
Great Question! This one literally just vacuums the leaves up and mulched them in the machine and shoots them in the bag leaving hardly no mess. The mower will vacuum and mulch leaves as the blade is mulching directly over the surface of the lawn but won’t do vacuum and mulch as clean as this machine will. Thanks for the question!! God Bless! 🙏🏻🙏🏻✝️✝️
@warrenpeas Yes you can do that but you are not going to get the same amount of suction force from the mower on the highest setting as you will from the leaf vacuum.
@@warrenpeasthat doesn't work with some battery mowers like the Makita one I have, the blade speed slows down when there isn't much load on the motor and then ramps up with you hit taller grass, pair that with the small leaves from a locust tree and the mower just won't work. I just bought one of these on clearance at Menards and hoping it will pull all the small locust leaves that are trapped within the grass
Other than having the little chipper you would be a lot better off just using a mulching blade with your mower, then you only have to go over the lawn one time instead of two, plus you will save yourself $800 and space in the garage.
I have a locust tree in our yard and use a battery powered lawnmower and it doesn't have the blade speed to lift all the tiny leaves out of the grass. I just bought one of these recently so I'm hoping it will take care of all the small ones that get trapped within the grass

The only thing missing from this review for me at least, would've been to see the chipper in operation.
You mean the hose?

I broke the lever in the front of the machine that directs witch way the vacuum flow picks up leaves, is that a big job to replace?
Honestly, I’m not sure. Thanks for watching! SUBSCRIBE to learn more! God Bless!
@@mylawnbarberI've never taken that piece off the machine but since it's just on the front I don't think it would only be to big of a job.
I don't think that would be hard to replace, you may be able to find the parts diagram on their website and find what you need there

Why mine does not have too much power picking up leafs

Do you have the diverter set to the right setting? Does a plastic cover on the front that you can switch from the hose to the front nozzle
They have a 060 and a 060B model now that's $100 dollars more. I can't find what makes it different and it appears it's not self-propelled.
This is not a self propelled model. Thanks for the info! God Bless!!
@@mylawnbarber It appears the engine is a bit different.
@@JS-bp3up I gotcha! Thanks for that update. 😎

@JS-bp3up That’s awesome man! It’s definitely a good machine! Let me know how you like it. God Bless! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Can this be used with yard that was cleared but has lots of small limbs ?
I don’t recommend it. I would pick up the limbs first then shred them in the chute. Thanks for watching! God Bless! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@mylawnbarber thank you very much.
@genevievecadet4956 Absolutely!
@@mylawnbarber thank you
Does it mow at the same time or just suck the debris
It just sucks up debris and grinds it up. Thanks for watching! God Bless! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Would it work for picking up chain saw chips?
Great question!! I never tried that. Let me see if I can find that out for you. God Bless! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I bought this one self propelled Troy Bilt
How you like it?
Will this pick up the stickers gumballs from a sweet gumballs tree?
Great question! I believe it does. Remember the lower you have the vacuum set to the ground the better the suction. God Bless!!
why would you use this instead of a mower with a bag?
