Honestly these are pretty marginal differences if you already have an RTX 4090, and the 5080 is going to be 20% slower than the 4090 and the 5090 is only 10-20% faster than the 4090. Unless you're into 4k gaming you shouldn't care too much about upgrading to a 5090.

It's not because it doesn't change the input lag, if the PC is only displaying 20 real frames you feel its having only 20 frames of smoothness. It also probably adds input lag on top of that so it'll look smooth but feel terrible. This is as I understand it but I could very well be wrong, I'm not an expert.

Fair point, but NVIDIA obviously don’t thing they’re required. The PCIe lane I understand, but not sure it’s really needed on the display connections nowadays. Ports are strong enough :)

Just upgraded from a 1060 6GB to a 4070 Super but it's cool to see how this operates.

Did you use any extra Icue link cables or are the included ones with the fans/radiator enough?

7700 and 14600kf will be good for gaming and workstation type of Rig. 9600x is for gaming.

Not enough to be an issue. A horizontal mount will always be marginally better on temps, but it looks awesome vertically 💥
