There is a very interesting detail in the flashback. You can see how Adult Jhonny seems focus and relax but the Teen Jhonny seems furious and out of control. Daniel is the opposite, Adult Daniel has the fire and furious eyes from Teen Jhonny. This scene is amazing!!
Exactly. This is the point that Miaygi kept on saying, never fight angry. Even when you win, you still lose. Daniel has lost his cool many times and then ends up losing what he wants to protect. Karate was invented for defense, not look for fights and Daniel looked for one in this case. Sadly, he lost his temper but that’s part of his character and how he evolves from that slowly

Only to get in the door of a apartment his minor daughter was in when a guy he's had a troubles past with wouldn't just let him in or go get Sam and say you have to go home now. Once in the apartment he twice tried to just go get his daughter so they could leave. Johnny took advantage both times to attack. Couldn't imagine someone not feeling the same way if it was their daughter.

Also daniel didnt intentionally throw the first punch, he just tried to kick the door in. But johny got hit as a result.
There's being chill and then there's doing the wrong thing. Once Daniel knows that she's in there Johnny should have let him in and explained, not close the door.
Yup both are right and wrong at the same time. Is very realistic, because people get swept up in their emotions and people unintentionally doing the wrong thing while trying to do the right thing all the time in life.

Daniel didn’t have any intention of hurting Johnny. He was worried about his daughter and kicked the door since Johnny didn’t let him in right then. Then when Daniel landed a few hits, he turned to go look for Sam and that’s when Johnny kicked him into the wall. Both have issues, and both are trying to do the right thing in their own way. Too bad their kids and students keep screwing things up. Bring on Season 3.
I 100% agree. Johnny better than anyone knows Daniel isn't a aggressor. Just remember back when Daniel went to johnnys dojo to tell him what he thought of his students trashing his dojo and stealing Miyagi's Medal of Honor. He told johnny if he wants to mix it up he will have to strike first because you know I won't. Daniel was simply concerned about his daughter and given all the backstory to the stupid stuff Sam was pulling you can understand his concern. Sams a minor and I'm pretty sure that's illegal to keep a child from their parents. Daniel both times once in the house was trying to walk past johnny to get his daughter and get out of there. Like Miyagi he only struck when attacked first. Anyone in this exact situation that wouldn't do the same if it were their daughter given everything that's going on would make me question your love for that child.
Damn, the writing of this show sometimes is REALLY good. Daniel has tried hard to be in balance, as Miyagi taught him, but there is still a dark side in him and this scene is the perfect portrait of this; ironically it was Johnny the one who tried to calm down the situation but Daniel was only guided by anger at the point to even rejects Robby totally. Daniel’s redemption arc for next season is become a more humble person and let go all his ego and anger issues that carries since the very first movie and finally become a trully sensei.
I’m with you on this one, why else would Daniel go back to Japan for 3rd season? He needs to find again what Miyagi taught him, balance, discipline, let fighting be the last resort. Johnny’s 3rd season will be him establishing some sort of contact with Ali again, she becomes his shoulder to cry on as he carries the weight of Miguel’s condition, he feels responsible for the school fight. The 3rd season will be big redemption arcs for both main characters? As for Reece & Cobra Kai? lets just say he’s training a team of would-be bully’s. Will they listen to his dangerous methods, or will some resist?

In my opinion Johnny was never the villain I feel like Johnny like Venom anti-hero but he just has a lot of demons inside of him just like Venom he's trying to do the right thing but sometimes Daniel keep on pissing them off

It feels like the way both Johnny and Daniel act really isn't any of there faults. They both had something bad happen to them as a kid which caused all of these problems. There really is no clear villian.
I’m kinda teaming up with Johnny on this show... he’s become more calm than ever compared to Daniel.. Johnny doesn’t want any trouble but Daniel wants to establish more drama.
Johnny still has issues to deal with himself, like letting Kreese back into his life and not heeding the warnings from his friends and Miguel himself. Although, I like that Miguel and Johnny gold true to each other, like that time after Miguel defeated Hawk ad Johnny needed to hold him accountable or else Miguel would have gone under Kreese’s teachings as well.

What I love about this scene is how it epitomizes Daniel and Johnny’s characterization in Cobra Kai: Daniel has his flaws, isn’t perfect and doesn’t always get a happy ending… While Johnny continually develops as stronger and better character, but still has some habits that die hard. This show may not be flawless, but it is still amazing.
The one thing I can't stand is the bias between these two. Daniel took Johnny's son in and kept him at his house for weeks without telling him and didn't care about Johnny's feelings, but Johnny takes care of his daughter for one day and all hell breaks lose. I know that Johnny is working on being a better father, and his situation with his son is different than Daniel and his daughter, but that doesn't mean he didn't deserve to know where his kid was either.

The character development of Johnny Lawrence is simply the best and unexpected yet pleasant surprise of the Cobra Kai saga. While Daniel may be happily married with 2 kids, living lavishly and has his own firm but his overall character has actually regressed further over the years, if you pay closer attention. Johnny Lawrence, on the other hand, WOW. Hated his guts and persona in TK1 but I'm all in for this new mellowed but still badass Sensei Johnny.
@@milesskillman256 the moment he saved Miguel from Kyler and his goons, I knew there was something charming and irresistible about this current Johnny Lawrence. I rooted so hard for him in S1 and S2. I felt pissed off at his how he lost everything at the end of S2, the chance of a new love with Carmen, the guilt over Miguel's current situation, his own son Robby still won't forgive him. Worse of all, the very same students whom he mentored and thought he made a difference in their lives, backstabbed him in the end. Despite all that, Daniel still sees Johnny as the same incorrigible asshole. Therefore, there is no way in hell will I ever root for the current self-righteous Daniel or his MiyagiDo. Daniel represents the embodiment of putting ur hatred and resentment in hibernation mode and unleash it when the time comes.

Then he had a life and death fight with chozen and a very rough fight with Barnes. Johnny is more skillful in my opinion but Daniel maybe have more experience 🤔
What I think makes this moment so great is that Johnny & Daniel both stay completely in character during this confrontation. It didn't feel forced at all. Considering Johnny's crazy teenage years, he's probably been in plenty of situations like this before so he knows what a kid would want in this situation, which is why he tells Daniel to calm down, so that nobody panics or does anything stupid. I also love that he's not against Daniel in this scene either, he just wants him not to try to harm his son. It's only when Daniel forces his way in that he loses his cool. Daniel's perspective I completely understand too. It's easy to say he's overreacting but considering he couldn't find his daughter because she was out all night with a teenage boy who's also missing & u find her located at a full grown man's house, I totally get where he's coming from. The only thing I'd say felt a little mean spirited & out of nowhere was when he started throwing cheap shots at Johnny and Robby, but then again he's still pissed off & blames Robby for not bringing Sam home or at least keeping him updated about the situation.
Ever since i watched Cobra Kai, i've been wanting to see Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso clash again. And to be honest, i think it would have been even MORE epic if it was longer, and if Sam never interfered. It's all Sam's fault! *It's ALWAYS Sam's fault.*
There is a lot of nostalgic feeling in this scene! Daniel desperate to know how his daughter is, he loses his temper, Jhonny tells him to calm down in total peace, but Daniel, as a good father, breaks into a private property such as Jhonny's house. Why does Jhonny strike first? Well your lifelong motto! Also if someone breaks the door, will you invite him a coffee? And add the rivalry of almost 40 years ??? Another thing that I notice in this series is how Daniel without Miyagi is still lost, he makes me understand that he did not learn anything or forgot everything about Miyagi 😆

Which is quite foolish. Maybe you’re young and inexperienced in life - or maybe you simply have not noticed - but people tend to say and do very foolish things when they are angry. Many/most people don’t have the kind of self-control necessary to stay calm when angry. Getting angry isn’t necessarily the problem. Allowing anger to control you - THAT is the problem.
I find it beautiful that Johnny and Daniel switched their roles from the first movie, Daniel here is mad outta his mind and strikes first (which is what Myagi said not to do), while Johnny was level headed and trying to calm him down, such beauty in this scene
A little detail to notice in William Zabka's acting at 1:14 he feels really bad about it and looks down with sad eyes. He hates it that Robby is with Daniel but on the inside he really thinks Daniel has a good effect on Robby. Has been keeping him out of trouble and in school. Something he failed to do. On the inside he was ok with Robby being under daniel's influence. I think he always knew that Daniel was the good kid in school.

Umm, why would we see the movie again? But I'll bite.. Like you said, Johnny was a teenager in the movie and Cobra Kai perfectly explains why he was troubled. Should everybody be punished for the rest of their lives because of wrongdoings they did +10 or, 35 years later? Robby was born in 2002 so it has nothing to do with the original movie. Also, in this case, It's really been like that since while Johnny's has tried to rebuild his life and tried to be better person, Daniel has done everything to ruin it while sabotaging his marriage and his kids for his personal vendetta. Who's really the better person here, especially we are comparing teenager to grown ass man married with 2 children?
Danny is still better because he knew what Cobra Kai was and feared it would continue being the vile dojo it was. So he tried to stop it before things got out of control again. Danny doesn’t know that Johnny has changed and every time they get close one of their kids accidentally mess it up. Johnny overreacted on Danny In season one and now Danny is maybe going a bit hard on Johnny but stops fighting to try to make sure his daughter is okay and kept getting attacked by Johnny. Danny is hot headed but far from going down a dark path.
I think what this scene emphasizes more than anything is that both Daniel and Johnny can be parallels of each other, the only difference is that Daniel reigned in his temper because of Mr Miyagi, but he is just as short tempered as Johnny is, Kreese fed into Johnny’s anger the complete opposite of Daniels sensei. I hope they do team up!
if you aren't angry at your daughter going MIA the entire night, and you find her in another man's home in the morning, you aren't a parent. For all Daniel knows his daughter could be severely injured or worse. Him getting angry and fighting is completely justified.

These two men are really incredible they are really a part of me now.. I love this fast but fierce fight and I can't imagine such a powerful pleasure it will be to attend their new relationship in season 4. I keep imagining a Johnny Lawrence in a bed hospital after a death fight with Terry Silver and Kreese and Daniel Larusso holding Johnny's hand with tears of rage in the eyes.. like the two guys are actually one person, one soul, one love.

Daniel didn’t have any intention of hurting Johnny. He was worried about his daughter and kicked the door since Johnny didn’t let him in right then. Then when Daniel landed a few hits, he turned to go look for Sam and that’s when Johnny kicked him into the wall. Both have issues, and both are trying to do the right thing in their own way. Too bad their kids and students keep screwing things up. Bring on Season 3.

Just remember back when Daniel went to johnnys dojo to tell him what he thought of his students trashing his dojo and stealing Miyagi's Medal of Honor. Daniel was simply concerned about his daughter and given all the backstory to the stupid stuff Sam was pulling you can understand his concern. Sams a minor and I'm pretty sure that's illegal to keep a child from their parents. Daniel both times once in the house was trying to walk past johnny to get his daughter and get out of there. Like Miyagi he only struck when attacked first. Anyone in this exact situation that wouldn't do the same if it were their daughter given everything that's going on would make me question your love for that child.

Damn, the writing of this show sometimes is REALLY good. Daniel has tried hard to be in balance, as Miyagi taught him, but there is still a dark side in him and this scene is the perfect portrait of this; ironically it was Johnny the one who tried to calm down the situation but Daniel was only guided by anger at the point to even rejects Robby totally.
Daniel’s redemption arc for next season is become a more humble person and let go all his ego and anger issues that carries since the very first movie and finally become a trully sensei.
I’m with you on this one, why else would Daniel go back to Japan for 3rd season? He needs to find again what Miyagi taught him, balance, discipline, let fighting be the last resort. Johnny’s 3rd season will be him establishing some sort of contact with Ali again, she becomes his shoulder to cry on as he carries the weight of Miguel’s condition, he feels responsible for the school fight. The 3rd season will be big redemption arcs for both main characters? As for Reece & Cobra Kai? lets just say he’s training a team of would-be bully’s. Will they listen to his dangerous methods, or will some resist?

The one thing I can't stand is the bias between these two. Daniel took Johnny's son in and kept him at his house for weeks without telling him and didn't care about Johnny's feelings, but Johnny takes care of his daughter for one day and all hell breaks lose. I know that Johnny is working on being a better father, and his situation with his son is different than Daniel and his daughter, but that doesn't mean he didn't deserve to know where his kid was either.

The character development of Johnny Lawrence is simply the best and unexpected yet pleasant surprise of the Cobra Kai saga. While Daniel may be happily married with 2 kids, living lavishly and has his own firm but his overall character has actually regressed further over the years, if you pay closer attention. Johnny Lawrence, on the other hand, WOW. Hated his guts and persona in TK1 but I'm all in for this new mellowed but still badass Sensei Johnny.

Worse of all, the very same students whom he mentored and thought he made a difference in their lives, backstabbed him in the end. Despite all that, Daniel still sees Johnny as the same incorrigible asshole. Therefore, there is no way in hell will I ever root for the current self-righteous Daniel or his MiyagiDo. Daniel represents the embodiment of putting ur hatred and resentment in hibernation mode and unleash it when the time comes.

What I think makes this moment so great is that Johnny & Daniel both stay completely in character during this confrontation. It didn't feel forced at all.
Considering Johnny's crazy teenage years, he's probably been in plenty of situations like this before so he knows what a kid would want in this situation, which is why he tells Daniel to calm down, so that nobody panics or does anything stupid. I also love that he's not against Daniel in this scene either, he just wants him not to try to harm his son. It's only when Daniel forces his way in that he loses his cool.
Daniel's perspective I completely understand too. It's easy to say he's overreacting but considering he couldn't find his daughter because she was out all night with a teenage boy who's also missing & u find her located at a full grown man's house, I totally get where he's coming from. The only thing I'd say felt a little mean spirited & out of nowhere was when he started throwing cheap shots at Johnny and Robby, but then again he's still pissed off & blames Robby for not bringing Sam home or at least keeping him updated about the situation.

There is a lot of nostalgic feeling in this scene! Daniel desperate to know how his daughter is, he loses his temper, Jhonny tells him to calm down in total peace, but Daniel, as a good father, breaks into a private property such as Jhonny's house. Why does Jhonny strike first? Well your lifelong motto! Also if someone breaks the door, will you invite him a coffee? And add the rivalry of almost 40 years ??? Another thing that I notice in this series is how Daniel without Miyagi is still lost, he makes me understand that he did not learn anything or forgot everything about Miyagi 😆

Which is quite foolish. Maybe you’re young and inexperienced in life - or maybe you simply have not noticed - but people tend to say and do very foolish things when they are angry. Many/most people don’t have the kind of self-control necessary to stay calm when angry. Getting angry isn’t necessarily the problem. Allowing anger to control you - THAT is the problem.
I find it beautiful that Johnny and Daniel switched their roles from the first movie, Daniel here is mad outta his mind and strikes first (which is what Myagi said not to do), while Johnny was level headed and trying to calm him down, such beauty in this scene
A little detail to notice in William Zabka's acting at 1:14 he feels really bad about it and looks down with sad eyes. He hates it that Robby is with Daniel but on the inside he really thinks Daniel has a good effect on Robby. Has been keeping him out of trouble and in school. Something he failed to do.

Danny is still better because he knew what Cobra Kai was and feared it would continue being the vile dojo it was. So he tried to stop it before things got out of control again. Danny doesn’t know that Johnny has changed and every time they get close one of their kids accidentally mess it up. Johnny overreacted on Danny In season one and now Danny is maybe going a bit hard on Johnny but stops fighting to try to make sure his daughter is okay and kept getting attacked by Johnny. Danny is hot headed but far from going down a dark path.

I think what this scene emphasizes more than anything is that both Daniel and Johnny can be parallels of each other, the only difference is that Daniel reigned in his temper because of Mr Miyagi, but he is just as short tempered as Johnny is, Kreese fed into Johnny’s anger the complete opposite of Daniels sensei. I hope they do team up!
this music is fire and the flashbacks are the best parts.
if you aren't angry at your daughter going MIA the entire night, and you find her in another man's home in the morning, you aren't a parent. For all Daniel knows his daughter could be severely injured or worse. Him getting angry and fighting is completely justified.
Daniel needs to realize that whatever issues he has or used to have with Johnny, they don’t have to become Sam’s and Robby’s.

Omar El Farissi Johnny was in evil control by Kreese. 30 years later, Daniel should have never brought back the rivalry with him and Johnny because he was the one who won. If Johnny wasn’t in Kreese’s control, maybe this wouldn’t have happen.

These two men are really incredible they are really a part of me now.. I love this fast but fierce fight and I can't imagine such a powerful pleasure it will be to attend their new relationship in season 4. I keep imagining a Johnny Lawrence in a bed hospital after a death fight with Terry Silver and Kreese and Daniel Larusso holding Johnny's hand with tears of rage in the eyes.. like the two guys are actually one person, one soul, one love.
