Drinking water before coffee is the tradition of Istanbul comming from Ottoman time. If you are hungry, you drink water before coffee. This is a polite way to say I am hungry. Then, your meal is prepared in the shortest time.
Two of my favourites. And the amazing thing i saw in this video is how Jay was so respectful to Ayşenur Altan. And she made him feel comfortable, including him in every little thing, explaining etc. This is sooooo beautiful. MaSha Allah!!

This is such a wonderful experience! Fantastic opportunity to learn about rich Turkish culture and food is just one of the best part of it. Besides, their hospitality reminds me of Prophet Abraham (PBUH). Jay you probably now know that he never ate (eve meal) without feeding a guest that passed by his house. Great example. I love these foods by the way.

@@maybeoneday9091 Unfortunately islamophobia and racism have been rising in many european countries, but there are also enough people who oppose racism and promote tolerance and respect.
In Germany there are few million Turkish people (one of the largest ethnic minorities in the country), and unfortunately anti-Turkish racism has also increased in the last few years.
I hope we can all live together peacefully and respectfully. We love our Turkish people here.

Turkish hospitality and turkish food, both are unique.. Thats something that you will nowhere find expect Turkey.. I have lived in Turkey for more than one year, and that was the best time of my life. In the time when I lived there, I felt so good to be there, bcs in Turkey I wasnt Jens but someones broter (Kardesim).. I think, only bcs you are a brother to someone you see for the first time, to a vendor, a policman, makes Turkey a unique country.. There in Turkey, they dont call you by you name, Sir or Mr., for them you are just a brother.. Thats sooo amazing.. Love Turkiye, love kardesler..

My favorite dish has always been moussaka with first layer baked bread with butter, second layer goat tomato sauce and eggplant and 3 layer yoghurt with lemon and garlic and to finish it off some roasted pine nuts (not sure I guess that’s the Iranian version)
