All modern editions are very bad. I have the first edition from 1995, and I also have editions from 1998 until 2009. It is strong and stimulating to the gentle sense. It is truly a very sexy perfume.
I used up the 1.3 oz bottle I bought in late 2009 or early 2010. Three or four sprays on the chest were strong even with my fragrance-killing body chemistry, and the scent was clearly there from morning to night. When I repurchased the fragrance in 2017 in the form of a big tester bottle from FragranceNet, I had to spray twice as much to achieve a similar strength, but, even then, it's less rich and less complex. It still smells nice, but not as costly-smelling and premium as before.
The difference is noticable. That's why I think Cuba Gold is a great cheapie...it's so similar to the modern formulation. I recommend that to people rather than buying a new Le Male, to save money.
I have a 200 ml bottle from 2021. It's very weak, but I still love the smell. When leaving the house I throw on 10 sprays which one would think I'm going to choke people out , but its just too weak for that.
I also have a Dxxxx JPG Le Mâle and to me it's a 1996 batch because the first "A" batch code is from 1993 and it was for the first JPG release ever : Classique for women..
You have to go by the clues on the can and bottle. The zip code 75008 vs. 75116 says it all. There is no making sense of the first letter. I've seen A, B, and C for both zip codes. Hopefully someday the code can be cracked.
The 90s was the best era for the OG Le Male. Smelled completely different than it does today. Had a sharper, more distinctive opening, almost a peppery quality. These days it’s all just a big “softness”. Too bad they ruined a good thing.
Pretty interesting that Issey Miyake have a similar style to JPG with batch codes and their postcodes. Speaking of which, do you have any vintage batches of Leau Dissey Pour Homme ? would love to see some videos on those and I would also love to see how it compares to current batches cause I like wearing the current ones but I heard that vintages batches were way stronger.
I'm not a big fan. However, I'm sure in Japan there would be vintage bottles around. I'll keep my eye open because I should have a vintage one in my collection.
I was able to get hold of a brand new sealed Le Male yesterday. 75ml. REF. 31752 and from 75116 Paris. Batch code info tells me that it is from 2013, since the batch code is repeated every 10 years, the bottle should be from 2000. I don't dare open it😅
That's great! You can tell by looking at the bottom of the can. Compare cans from both time periods and you will see some differences, and know for sure. I have a 2009-2010 can in my latest LeMale video.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I only have this can. The batch code is FQ888 maybe from 2000 or earlier. The price tag with 79 Deutsche Mark and 79€ was still attached to the can. The euro was introduced in 1999 and therefore I think that the batch comes from 1999 or 2000. I paid €100 for this bottle. Today I received another 125ml almost full but without can for 120€. batch code loud MULS6 I think it's from 2004 and he still has the yellow green liquid. I'm super happy! The search continues daily...
Even the bottle of the new le male don’t look the same as they did back in the 90s. The new le male is a shadow of its former self. It has a hint of the old smell but it’s overpowering with the vanilla and lavender. Can’t even smell the mint
@abdaleali609 it's legit. It's very strong, much deeper than what we have now. No doubt its changed a bit since it was first sprayed but I love it and it's how I remember it.
@@wishawlad3635 Thanks, yesterday i received JPG le male le perfume over sea and 99.9% was alcohol for $165 dollar i was disappointed i can't even smell small lavender, vanilla, irris, woody or any thing alse as aroma just water and alcohol, a few hours ago i was thinking why god created hell it's because they are always evil people like them.
Agreed about the cans- SO annoying gaudy and they scratch up the bottle. One of the worst packaging ideas in designer fragrances- I love the ones that come in tester boxes- far more pristine and preserved- packaged all lovely like a USPS package. Although the quality on vintage le male is stunning- i wish that herbal orangey floral complex top lasted longer- It settles into that vanilla beast base within the hour and thats pretty much what you get from this- 12-24 hours of beast vanilla extract- which in fact is quite boring if you really think about it.
I can't get it here. I want that one and No.9, the Aventus clone. The price is really cheap but I don't want to pay the high shipping. If I can get it cheap, I'll make a video.
The letters don't necessarily tell you....it's the clues on the bottle and can. If there is a Paris city code of 75008, then it's 1995-'97. After that the code changes to 75116. It is possible that you have a bottle from somewhere around 2002-2005, perhaps. Early 2000's.
i have a factory sealed can unopened the same labelling codes as the one in your video in excellent condition with no rust batch code ( by j76 x) is it worth selling to anyone interested in it
Of course. I think there's a max price and it likely won't go up forever. Throw it on ebay for $400 and see what offers you get. Let me know how it goes.
Today I just got a vintage bottle (around 2004-2007) for about $7......there's around 25ml inside. Perhaps you can find something like that, but you're taking a risk that it was stored in heat and thus changed. Luckily, this bottle I got is nice overall.

Can you please tell me where i can buy le male vintage. @@einfachmal417
You as a collector of JPG, you should be happy cause that bottle a package look in incredible shape.
Correct, I'm thrilled because the bottle is in perfect shape. The can is pretty good, too.

I'm tempted to get a new bottle just for comparison. I have dozens of the old one but don't know what a new one smells like.
Bought a 2005 version, hope its strong. Should be here next week
It should be. Let me know if the bottom has the sticker and what batch code.

Right. It would be boring if I wore it daily, so I spritz it once a month or so just to enjoy it.
Please review this.. And also compare with new formulation..
Hi. Do you mean review the original formula vs. the modern?
@@eaudetreasure Yes.. 👍 We really want to know the differences. No video available regarding this. BPI vs. PUIG
@saltnpepper6675 I thought I did a video, a vintage bottle vs. a newer one, maybe from the 2010s. I don't have a more recent bottle.
1996 batch!
Very good Video!
Do you know Bondage Hommes from Milton Lloyd?
It's a very cheap clone on the vintage Le Male.

Is 2009 a good year for it? I just purchased one off eBay.
It should be. It's pre-2011, so hopefully still has that rich original formula and performance.

There are fakes out there. It's not very expensive to puchase a new one. Or, Cuba Gold is a good substitute for a very cheap price.
