But in your video you mentioned the employer initiates first. Isn't it the employee who has to apply for the work visa first with the job offer letter and contract along with the other regular documents?*

Great detailed information. But I have a question. Is the process same for Pakistani students enrolled in Turkish universities? Do we have to travel back and wait for weeks to get this process done or can we apply for work visa directly from Turkey?
After you graduate, you can apply for a short term residence permit after graduation and can continue staying in Turkey. During this time, if you successfully find a job, your employer will apply for your work permit on your behalf using your active residence permit. You'll not have to visit Pakistan. Hope this helps. First you'll have to get a residence permit for at least six months. Then, if you've got a job offer from a company, the company can apply for work permit on your behalf. The work permit is usually granted for one year after which it needs to be renewed.

What type of visa your family got? Is it touristic?
They got family visa. But you can also apply for touristic visa for your family. More documents are required for family visa case.
